Second Senior Brother observes Qian Yizheng and the children allowing a massive demonic beast to terrify Little Junior Sister as a lesson for her troublesome behavior. The other seniors stay calm, recognizing the beast's lack of real threat, while preparing breakfast before continuing their journey. Powerless and resentful, Little Junior Sister accuses Second and Fifth Senior Brothers of inaction, but they counter that the beast had no intent to harm her and Second is injured.

Second Senior Brother softly advised her, wishing she would show some sense and say sorry to Qian Yizheng and the rest of the children, allowing the issue to be dropped.

Yet evidently, Little Junior Sister lacked any such awareness.

"It simply wants to devour me, Second Senior Brother. Assist me in slaying that demonic beast immediately!" she insisted.

Second Senior Brother: "..."

Talking to her felt like addressing a stubborn stone, their perspectives utterly mismatched.

Besides, what immense faith Little Junior Sister placed in him, demanding he take down a beast like that?

Even without his current injuries making movement a struggle, facing off solo against such an enormous demonic beast was impossible!

He was merely mortal, not divine; confronting a demonic beast whose cultivation surpassed his own was out of the question!

"Little Junior Sister, you rate your Senior Brother too highly. At present, I lack the strength to tackle that demonic beast. Perhaps you could show me how it’s done?"

A chill settled on his features as he gazed at Little Junior Sister, proposing this.

"Uh!"

Speechless, Little Junior Sister stood there.

Second Senior Brother had to be out of his mind, expecting her to face such a gigantic demonic beast!

Had she the power to slay it, fear wouldn’t grip her; she’d have struck long ago.

"Second Senior Brother, are you upset with me? You promised earlier to fulfill any wish of mine."

"I did vow that, yet it doesn’t imply I’d rush headlong into doom." A frosty smirk curled Second Senior Brother’s lips as he replied.

Did she truly believe he’d idiotically court death at her mere command? After all, he was the Second Senior Brother of the Bright Moon Sect, the Revered Master’s prized disciple.

Should he fail to sense peril and charge blindly to his end, he’d be nothing but a complete idiot.

"Little Junior Sister, we’re no more than fellow disciples in the Sect. Mutual aid is expected, but you face no real threat at the moment. Should I intervene and truly enrage that demonic beast, your fate wouldn’t improve either."

"I..."

Paleness drained Little Junior Sister’s face.

She failed to grasp when Second Senior Brother had grown so defiant toward her.

In the past, when she’d poisoned those children, Second Senior Brother stayed silent. Why the change now?

"Second Senior Brother, Fifth Senior Brother, breakfast’s prepared. Come eat," Ninth Senior Brother called from afar, cutting off Little Junior Sister’s further words.

"Coming."

Fifth Senior Brother answered, turning his eyes from Little Junior Sister toward Second Senior Brother.

"Second Senior Brother, grab breakfast first, then swallow the medicinal pills. I’ll watch Little Junior Sister; no issues will arise." he assured.

"Alright."

Second Senior Brother averted his gaze from Little Junior Sister, gave a nod, and departed.

"Second Senior Brother!"

Furious that he left without hesitation, Little Junior Sister stamped her foot.

"Fifth Senior Brother, how could you treat me like this? Am I not your cherished Little Junior Sister anymore?" With eyes turning red, she demanded of Fifth Senior Brother. Why had everything gone awry?

She couldn’t fathom it; moments ago, all seemed perfect. Was it due to those folks’ powerful origins, forcing her to suffer injustice?

At her words, Fifth Senior Brother shut his eyes briefly before reopening them to meet Little Junior Sister’s angry glare. "Little Junior Sister, since Second Senior Brother’s injury, have you shown him any concern?"

He inquired.

"How could I not?"
