Little Junior Sister’s blatant entitlement regarding Senior Sister Jun’s medicinal talent creates a tense atmosphere among the group. After Senior Sister Jun confronts her about her disparaging comments, the cracks in their camaraderie widen significantly. While Second Senior Brother attempts to mediate the situation, the growing resentment leads Little Junior Sister to plot against her rival. As the internal animosity reaches a boiling point, the unexpected arrival of Little Nuonuo and his companions interrupts the escalating conflict.

Upon hearing that familiar voice, the Little Junior Sister leaped up instantly, casting a glare of pure fury toward the new arrivals. The intensity of her gaze suggested she wished to devour them whole!

"You little brats dare to show your faces again? Do you honestly believe I will—ugh!"

"Little Junior Sister!"

With a sharp, authoritative shout, the Fifth Senior Brother abruptly cut her off.

It was not that he felt any fondness for the children who had materialized so suddenly; rather, it was the formidable figures standing behind them that filled him with deep apprehension.

How could he articulate his feelings? After all, they had been the ones to initiate the aggression against those children. The Little Junior Sister was clearly in the wrong, and not one of them had stepped in to stop her. If these people sought retribution, was it not entirely justified?

"Keep your mouth shut!"

He surged forward, forcefully pulling back the Little Junior Sister as she prepared to charge.

Was she trying to commit suicide by rushing them now? A few small children alone had already brought them to this state—and now, look at the swarm of guards lurking behind them.

Feeling the Fifth Senior Brother’s firm grasp, the Little Junior Sister felt her resolve dampen, and she retreated a step.

She was capable of reading the room and understood that now was not the moment to spark a confrontation. She would simply bide her time to settle the score for this humiliation.

She reasoned that these people couldn't possibly be hovering around them forever; they certainly hadn't been present previously.

"Who, exactly, are you people?" the Second Senior Brother asked, his brow furrowed in concern.

Why had he never encountered them before? These individuals, outfitted in identical, clean uniforms as if they were prestigious guards, were clearly affiliated with a powerful clan.

Did they possess some immense background? Had he known this sooner, he never would have allowed the Little Junior Sister to target them, thereby avoiding such an unnecessary offense.

However, if these people had shown a kinder disposition earlier, perhaps things wouldn't have reached this point...

Regardless, it was pointless to dwell on it now. There was no longer any prospect of friendship. They were firmly aligned as enemies; at this point, merely avoiding an immediate execution was a victory in itself.

"What relevance does our identity hold for you?"

Qian Yizheng offered a light chuckle, regarding the Second Senior Brother with a mocking glint in his eyes.

"Why, would knowing who we are have stopped you from resorting to poisons like fools? Even that dim-witted woman beside you—regardless of who she faced—would have seized any opportunity to strike, would she not?"

He cast a disdainful glance at the Little Junior Sister as he spoke.

"Ugh."

The Second Senior Brother was rendered utterly speechless.

He knew it was true. Given the Little Junior Sister’s stubborn and volatile nature, even if she discovered who they were, she would never admit fault. If she felt wronged, she would always seek to strike back.

But was this not simply human nature? Who among them was any different?

Even the children standing before him had struck back immediately after being provoked by them, had they not?

Otherwise, he wouldn't be suffering from such grave injuries, all orchestrated by these very people standing right in front of him. Truly, their cunning and cruelty were remarkable!

"What is it that you actually want?"

Finding no way to discern their origins, he shifted his focus to their intentions.

Having crippled them to this extent, was it not enough? Did they have to emerge now to kick them while they were already down? Where was the reason in that?

"Naturally, we came to verify whether or not you had died yet."

Little Nuonuo took a step forward, surveying the group with a sharp look before letting out a soft sigh.

"To persist for a thousand years without dying... truly, you have led such a wretchedly long life!" Min Yi followed with a soft sigh of his own, remarking on how incredibly resilient—and frustratingly tough—these people’s lives truly were.
