Little Junior Sister uses her influence over her senior brothers to harass strangers over food, ignoring the potential risks of offending powerful individuals. Concerned for the sect's safety, some of the junior sisters worry that their masters will blame them for not curbing this behavior. As tension rises, they resolve to protect their own resources rather than sacrifice them for the group's problematic members.

"I understand, from now on... I won’t do it again!"

She seemed resolute, having decided that she would no longer fixate solely on Second Senior Brother. From this point forward, she would safeguard her own belongings, and others could forget about taking them.

As for Second Senior Brother, given that his heart had already been claimed by someone else, she would cease pestering him. She chose to believe she had simply been blind these past years.

Now that her eyes had been opened, that was no longer an issue.

"Ninth Senior Brother, since Second Senior Brother has returned from hunting, we likely won’t get a share. Why don’t I go hunt something for myself?" she proposed.

Given their Little Junior Sister’s temperament, the finest portions of any catch were always reserved for her. Even if the meat was substandard, she would rather discard the rest than share it with her fellow disciples.

Over these days, she had fully grasped that every time they consumed the prey Second Senior Brother provided, Little Junior Sister acted as if they were stealing from her.

"That sounds like a good plan."

Ninth Senior Brother did not hesitate, offering a quick nod.

He had no desire to endure Little Junior Sister’s moods anymore; indeed, maintaining distance from her seemed the wisest course of action.

"Allow me to go instead. You two stay here; I shall return shortly."

As their senior, he felt it improper to let the junior sisters handle the hunting, so he decided to take the task upon himself.

"In that case, I will accompany Ninth Senior Brother."

Senior Sister Jun pondered for a moment before nodding, and the duo stood up, ready to head out.

By now, the daylight was fading. They intended to scout for prey nearby; since it would be night by the time they finished processing the catch, it was more efficient to travel together.

Just as they were about to set off, Second Senior Brother returned. Noticing them preparing to leave, he asked casually, "Where are you both headed?"

The forest was hazardous, particularly with night approaching, and he felt they were safer remaining as a group.

"We are going to hunt, Second Senior Brother," Ninth Senior Brother replied.

Hearing this, Second Senior Brother cast a look at the few small animals in his grasp. These were favored by Little Junior Sister. Though there were several, they were indeed quite small.

It certainly wouldn’t sustain the entire group, yet these critters were notoriously cunning and difficult to track.

His heart had been set on getting back quickly, driven by the thought that he couldn't allow Little Junior Sister to go hungry.

Were Ninth Senior Brother and Senior Sister Jun perhaps voicing their frustration with him?

"I failed to consider the situation as a senior brother. Once I have finished dealing with these, I will go out and bag more. Little Jun, you don’t need to go," he said, sounding somewhat apologetic.

Yet, even with a flicker of guilt, he didn't truly see anything wrong with his behavior. Little Junior Sister was still young; naturally, she should be fed first to avoid hunger.

Furthermore, as a senior brother, wasn’t it his duty to provide extra care to Little Junior Sister?

If Senior Sister Jun felt slighted, then she was surely being too sensitive. After all, they were all members of the same Sect, and as a senior sister, she ought to look after Little Junior Sister with more grace.

"Little Jun, what would you like to eat? I shall go hunt it for you shortly."

"That will not be necessary, Second Senior Brother."

Senior Sister Jun shook her head, turning down his offer.

Since she had firmly decided to let go, it was best to treat him only as a fellow member of the Sect, free from any deeper entanglement.

"Ninth Senior Brother and I are capable of hunting for ourselves. You should attend to Little Junior Sister; I imagine she is quite hungry," she stated, casting a glance toward Ninth Senior Brother.

Ninth Senior Brother caught her meaning, offered a faint smile to Second Senior Brother, and walked away with Senior Sister Jun.
