The Head of the Le Family devises a strategy to forge a perceived alliance with the City Lord Residence by sending his sons and Steward Zhao to apologize for the steward's offense against a couple and Young City Lord Bai. Old Jing, the family counselor, agrees to oversee the arrangements but inwardly laments the Le Family's favoritism toward troublemakers like Zhao, which has now entangled them with powerful adversaries. Disillusioned by the family's deep-seated corruption, Old Jing sighs under the azure sky, resolving to seek a new path beyond White Lion City while summoning a team member.

"Big brother, is there something happening?"

"Where has the young master headed off to today?" Old Jing inquired.

"Ah, the young master? The guards at the gate mentioned he led a group of young nobles to the Yu Yao Pavilion down south. They say some fresh beauties have arrived there, really stunning."

His underling sneered with contempt.

Old Jing's face turned even grimmer after catching wind of that.

This was the Le Family's young master, wasting days on pets or hauling along a pack of idle rich kids to shady spots. He acted worse than lowly street thugs!

Drawing in a sharp breath, he squeezed his eyes shut.

"Dispatch a person to summon the young master home, claiming the Family Head needs to talk about urgent matters with him."

"Sure thing, big brother."

The fellow nodded and dashed away to track him down.

"Phew!"

Old Jing released a deep sigh.

He'd resolved firmly; he had to break away from the Le Family fast. Staying meant dragging himself into their doom.

At his age, he refused to meet such a senseless end.

"Come closer."

Lifting his hand, he gestured for the figure hovering far off to approach.

"Big brother, what's the order?"

The guy hurried up, his gaze sparkling as he stared at Old Jing.

"Start getting things set. In several days, we'll depart from the Le Family and White Lion City. No more sticking around; our destination is Fan City," Old Jing directed.

"Got it, big brother, rest easy—I won't fail you," the man's eyes lit up even more at those words.

He'd urged his big brother ages back that lingering in the Le Family spelled disaster. Sticking it out would bury them all, possibly wiping everyone out. Yet big brother insisted on holding on a bit more, chasing some slim hope.

Finally, big brother recognized the truth and chose to flee.

Truth be told, he couldn't fault big brother for hesitating to go. They'd just carved out a place for themselves; abandoning it felt impossible. With any shot at turning things around, they'd grab it eagerly.

Yet the Le Family lay beyond redemption. He'd known that for ages.

Just glance at Miss Le's messes. Had she the skill to rally young elites from great houses to battle on her behalf, things might differ. Sadly, she lacked that charm.

With everything laid bare now, she'd bolted alone.

As for the Le Family's young master, utterly undependable. Amid the household turmoil, he still gathered his buddies for a round of pleasure-seeking jaunts.

"Big brother, what's our departure date? Could you specify?" he queried.

"Prepare all you can first, pack only the essentials. Ditch whatever's trivial," Old Jing replied.

The Le Family's collapse loomed huge, and the Family Head wouldn't release them without a fight. Getting nabbed meant facing chases, so light loads and a direct rush to Fan City were key.

A relative there waited, someone he could lean on right away.

"Understood, big brother."

...

"Madam Qian, did you just mention an Evil Dragon?"

During the meal with City Lord Bai, An Jiuyue dropped the topic abruptly, shocking all at the table into silence.

Hong Dahua's eyes popped wide, shifting back and forth between Qian Jiyun and An Jiuyue for long moments before glancing speechlessly at her mate, City Lord Bai.

"Madam Qian, from where did you learn of the Evil Dragon?" City Lord Bai gulped before questioning.

Across the Beast Domain, the Evil Dragon's legend reached every ear. Ages had passed without a glimpse, yet its fearsome presence remained etched in all minds.
