The Mayor's Wife reveals her long-term plan: she was placed by his side years ago not to kill him, but to act as a spy. However, a new offer from another general, interested in the Mayor's mines, has changed their objective. To facilitate the takeover and reduce the cost for the new general, the Mayor's influence and soldiers were systematically weakened. With the Mayor's power diminished, the Mayor's Wife prepares to deliver the final blow.

The Mayor’s body fell to the ground from mid-air, not even uttering a wail, and a large pool of blood quickly spread across the floor beneath him.

The Mayor’s Wife stood still, holding a gun, staring at her husband for over ten seconds before stepping forward.

The Mayor struggled weakly, raising his head, his face twisted with pain as he mumbled curses.

The Mayor’s Wife squatted down to listen closely, finally discerning the Mayor’s words: "You shot, you’re doomed too. My men will hear the gunshot... guards will..."

The Mayor’s Wife chuckled, saying nothing.

Just then, footsteps came from outside, and the study door was pushed open. The adjutant strode in, and upon seeing the scene in the room, his face turned wildly.

In an instant, his eyes flicked with struggle before he turned around and barked fiercely at those outside.

There seemed to be confused questions from the guards outside, but after the adjutant’s stern reprimands, all fell silent.

The adjutant walked back in briskly and immediately closed the door on his way.

He looked at the Mayor’s Wife with a complex gaze, then gritted his teeth, speaking softly, "Why did you act here? You know this will kill us!"

The Mayor’s Wife gave a charming smile: "Are you scared?"

The adjutant pressed his lips tightly, his gaze remaining conflicted.

The Mayor hadn’t lifted up, lying on the ground, struggling to extend his hand towards his loyal adjutant as a plea for help.

But soon, his eyes filled with shock!

Because the Mayor’s Wife had already walked over, wrapping her arm around the adjutant’s neck, she turned her body and sneered at the Mayor on the ground: "Don’t struggle; no one here can save you."

The Mayor’s eyes were filled with malice, staring fiercely at his adjutant.

"Don’t blame him, I seduced him." The Mayor’s Wife smiled confidently, her slender fingers lightly stroking the adjutant’s lips while looking at her husband: "Since you know you’re bored of me, I needed to find some leverage for myself."

The Mayor exhaled; he’d been shot in the chest, lungs punctured, breathing like a leaking bellows, unable to shout loud, the sounds coming from his mouth were quickened, low gasps.

"You! Your life, your life was given by me!"

This line was directed at the adjutant.

The muscles on the adjutant’s face twitched; lips quivering, unable to speak.

"You were right; his life was given by you," the Mayor’s Wife laughed, "but you only gave him life, mere life isn’t enough.

I can give him more, give him money, give him gold, and even give him pleasures in bed.

Do you understand that such temptations can’t be resisted?

During the day, he bows respectfully to you, calling you general, currying favor.

At night, he slams your wife hard on the bed, venting the anger he got from you.

Do you know, I barely had to try to seduce him!

Hahahahahahahaha!!"

The Mayor’s Wife laughed madly.

The adjutant’s face grew sterner, interrupting her insane words with a harsh turn: "Enough! Don’t speak such nonsense at this time!"

He paused, feeling anxious, pulling away the woman’s arm wrapped around his neck, angrily saying, "You never said you’d act here, let alone now! What should we do now? You crazy woman!

There are dozens of soldiers in the Governor’s Mansion, although they usually follow my command, they swear loyalty to him! If they know he was killed by us, in under a minute, those guards will tear us to pieces!"

"Then don’t let them find out." The Mayor’s Wife shook her head, smiled.

She released the adjutant, walked over to the Mayor’s side, squatting down again.

The Mayor was now barely breathing, his chest heaving sharply, trying desperately to draw in as much air as possible.

"What exactly are you doing! You damned crazy woman, you’ll kill me!" The adjutant said in desperation.

"Shut up!" The Mayor’s Wife suddenly frowned, coldly scolding, looking at the adjutant with disdain: "Weak, cowardly guy! Is your courage only displayed in bed?!"

She paused, taking a deep breath: "Since we’ve acted here, we’re naturally prepared!"

"What are you saying? We?" The adjutant froze.

The Mayor’s Wife snorted, her gaze flashing with contempt, she walked over to the desk, holding up an object.

It was the rusty, old knife laid on the food tray when she entered the study tonight.

She glanced at the adjutant: "I know you betrayed him just because of the benefits I gave! You’ve never truly believed in our True God; now, let me show you the greatness of the True God!"

With that, she waved the knife towards the Mayor’s body on the ground as if slicing the air.

The blade seemed only to cut the air, yet a strange glimmer sparkled across its edge.

Then, under the adjutant’s horrified gaze, the Mayor’s body appeared to twitch slightly, but another chilling event ensued!
