Following a massive explosion, Chen Yan and Oliver Cooper decide the hotel is no longer safe. As they leave, Cooper expresses concern about the explosion's magnitude, estimating it to be over five hundred kilograms of TNT. Both men head to the parking lot, with Chen Yan opting for his camper and Cooper his modified off-road vehicle. Cooper, intrigued by Chen Yan's journey, introduces himself and offers a potential business partnership. He warns Chen Yan that the situation in Gusanka is dangerous, especially with the Mayor in trouble due to the attack. Chen Yan, in turn, advises Cooper against heading south, hinting at impending misfortune.

Chen Yan also got into his RV and drove toward the hotel’s courtyard gate.

At night, the gate was closed, and the security guards seemed ready to prevent guests from leaving.

Some security personnel stood at the gate trying to explain something about the Mayor’s ban, forbidding anyone from going out on the streets.

In the end, Oliver Cooper, who was at the forefront, couldn’t be bothered to waste words with the security at the gate; he just had his bodyguards show their guns.

"Tell your Mayor to go eat shit! Your Mayor is worth crap!"

Under the threat of gun barrels, the security didn’t dare confront these white people head-on, finally opening the gate, and cars subsequently sped out of the hotel courtyard gate.

·

The RV Chen Yan was in was being driven by Little Haid. This little guy was actually quite skilled at driving, even with such a large RV, he managed to drive steadily.

When they drove out of the hotel courtyard gate, Little Haid instinctively turned right — this was the path they took when entering Gusanka City.

But he quickly realized, "Master, where are we going now?"

Chen Yan had already taken out his phone translator, "Stop at the intersection ahead."

Haid listened to the translated voice from the phone and nodded.

At the intersection, the RV pulled to the side and parked. Chen Yan opened the front passenger door but left Little Haid with the last translated words.

"Drive back from where we entered the town, on the highway outside North City, I remember there’s a hill, you can park the car behind the mound and wait for me. If I don’t return in three days, you leave on your own; consider this vehicle a gift to you."

After speaking, Chen Yan ignored Haid’s stunned expression, jumped out of the car, and swiftly darted across the street, disappearing into the darkness.

·

Chen Yan made his way south. When crossing the artificial river, he didn’t use the traffic bridge on Revolution Road, but instead, he swiftly flew over the dried riverbed in the darkness.

The traffic bridge on Revolution Road was about a hundred meters to his side. The bridge was brightly lit, with soldiers guarding it, using high-powered searchlights to illuminate the southern direction. Many soldiers and presumably people from City Hall were anxiously scouting for news from the bridge.

As for what these people were doing, Chen Yan couldn’t be bothered to care. After crossing the river, he suddenly transformed into a bird mid-air, heading towards the explosion site in the south tonight!

The air carried a slight scorched smell, like the acrid odor of burnt rubber products, although faint and not very strong.

The temperature seemed to have risen in the aftermath of the explosion’s shockwave, carrying the scorched smell everywhere.

After traversing midair for a moment, Chen Yan quickly reached his target location.

In midair, he suddenly paused and hovered above a mass of air.

Looking down, he saw that the entire street had been leveled!

·

A giant pit with a diameter of over fifty meters appeared on the ground, seemingly caused by an explosion.

Around the pit was a radial shape, showing the energy diffusion pattern after the blast.

Surrounding houses and buildings were all destroyed!

Hovering in midair, Chen Yan detected a familiar scent — he had smelled this on his travels across Middle East battlefields.

It was like barbecue.

That was the scent of human flesh and fat being cooked and charred in an explosion!!

This smell was accompanied by pervasive blood odor, like the intense rusty smell of blood heated to higher temperatures.

Chen Yan took a deep breath, lowered his altitude, and landed on the ground.

Remaining in bird form, he cautiously landed on a piece of collapsed wall debris.

The entire street seemed like hell!

·

No need to inquire where the Mayor’s troops went — their remains were scattered all over the street.

Everywhere were torn-apart human body parts from the explosion.

Even a mere three meters from where Chen Yan landed, there was such a large pile.

It was apparent that there were at least three feet and four hands — evidently, the explosion tore apart numerous people, and the shockwave flung them, landing here.

Over five hundred meters of street destruction, buildings on both sides turned to ruins. Some places still had flickering flames, unsure what was still burning.

Perhaps it was wooden structures inside the buildings, or maybe residual fat from burnt bodies.

Tiny flames dotted the entire explosion zone.

Chen Yan merely glanced and seemed to overlook these horrifying scenes.

He listened to the "sounds" here, the sounds and consciousness belonging to this world.

Soon, he discovered something.

Chen Yan jumped, landing about ten meters away, beside a collapsed wall.

This time, Chen Yan’s body shook and exited the Transformation Technique state, fully reverting to human form, shedding even his disguise as a white man, and returning to his original appearance.

He glanced at the collapsed wall in front, with most of it toppled, only a wall root remained, buried under rubble, exposing only a small part.

Chen Yan gently waved his fingers, sending a Mana blast to clear away the debris covering the wall root, then walked over.

He lowered his head, scrutinizing the wall intently, furrowing his brows.

The wall had some curvy etched marks.

Specifically, it was painted on.

Soon, after clearing a section, Chen Yan’s brows furrowed tighter.

On the collapsing wall, there were bizarre symbols painted in red.

Each one was as large as a basin, scattered but mostly incomplete, showing signs of damage.

In Chen Yan’s eyes, though unrecognizable, they appeared like something left to drive a spell...

Rune?

·

This wasn’t any Talisman Art rune pattern Chen Yan learned.

The pattern even carried local Civilization’s traits.

However, with the residual ambiance in the air from the spell’s release and the waves of Primordial Qi, Chen Yan was ninety percent confident his speculation was correct.

Tonight’s incident was not an explosion! Not TNT explosives, not even modern civilization’s explosives!

It was...

A spell crafted with runes!

A few minutes later, Chen Yan validated his speculation.

Because, along the entire street, from end to end, Chen Yan discovered remnants of these painted runes on the walls of over six collapsed buildings!!

This was no longer Talisman Art or a mere spell; it was... an Array!

A street spanning hundreds of meters had buildings covered with these rune patterns!

And, one can imagine, when the North District troops entered the South District for sweeping and gathered here...

The hundreds of meters long street, countless runes finally activated, and then...

Boom!

A gigantic slaughterhouse!
