Put Away Your Divine Techniques Now! Chapter 1367 - 408: [The Reckless Little Girl]_2
Previously on Put Away Your Divine Techniques Now!...
This neighborhood is obviously a rich area—and not just your regular rich. These big villas with tall courtyard walls, all about privacy, are something your average middle-class street just doesn’t have.
Murray might be a trust-fund kid, but he’s still Angie’s classmate at school.
A girl like Angie, daughter of a bottom-tier Asian Chinese-restaurant owner—what kind of decent school could she possibly go to?
If Murray goes to the same school as Angie, then sure, his family has money, but how rich can they really be? How could they possibly afford property in a neighborhood like this?
·
Even though it was a bit far, and there was the living room’s floor-to-ceiling window between them,
Chen Yan’s Extraordinary hearing still let him pick up the soft murmur of conversation coming from inside.
The guy in pajamas looked a bit pissed, chewing Murray out.
"Murray, the girl you brought this time is low quality. Worse than last time. You keep getting more useless every time."
"Fuck, you can’t pin that on me. We just came from Frank’s party. You know Frank, right? His party had the whole football team invited. You know how it is—soon as those chicks see the players, their eyes light up brighter than light bulbs.
The two girls I had my eye on both left with guys from the team. I couldn’t get them to come with me at all."
Murray explained cautiously—he was smiling as he talked, but his posture and tone were pure flattery, all apology and deference.
Like a...
tag‑along lackey.
Because that same smile and tone were exactly what Chen Yan often saw on Mandy, the newly minted eunuch under Brother Ni. Whenever Mandy talked to him, that was usually the way he sounded.
"Quit making excuses. If you keep being this useless, don’t bother hanging out with us anymore." Pajama Guy muttered.
Murray’s eyes flickered. He suddenly leaned in close to Pajama Guy’s ear.
"Bro, look—look at that Asian girl. Look..."
Pajama Guy frowned, glanced over at Angie, and curled his lip. "Asian? It’s not like I haven’t fucked Asians before. And she looks pretty average."
"She’s only fifteen this year. And, if I’m not mistaken, she should still be a virgin."
Pajama Guy raised his eyebrows; the impatience in his eyes finally faded a bit, replaced by a hint of interest.
"Come on, put on something with a bit of punch. What the hell is this crap you’re playing now? All soft and limp. You trying to dance ballet or what?"
Pajama Guy suddenly raised his voice and barked the order.
Very quickly, a man with a neck tattoo walked over and fiddled with the sound system, and the room switched to a hard, pounding beat.
"Where’s the booze? Pour the ladies the best stuff we’ve got. Stop acting like corpses—we’re at a party, a party!"
Pajama Guy stood up, and as he spoke someone brought the drinks over to the table.
Then he started nodding his head and rolling his body with the music himself, shrugging off his pajamas so he was only wearing a pair of shorts underneath.
Two young girls in very revealing outfits immediately moved in close, pressing up against him and grinding along with the beat.
Then everyone else in the room stood as well, wine glasses in hand, drinking and dancing.
Angie got pulled up by her friends too.
But the kid was obviously a bit lost. She froze for a second, then started copying everyone else’s moves in a stiff, awkward way.
Someone poured her a big glass of liquor too; Chen Yan saw the label on the bottle—it was brandy.
After Angie took a sip, her face scrunched up, but someone quickly opened a bottle of that fruity alcopop for her, and the dumb kid started chugging it.
Very soon a flush from the alcohol spread across her cheeks, and her eyes began to slow and glaze.
"Teenage girls in puberty really don’t know the height of the sky or the depth of the earth. No sense of danger at all."
Chen Yan curled his lip and glanced at the time.
Uncle Wu still hadn’t arrived.
The old guy’s Chinese restaurant was about a thirty‑plus‑minute drive from here, and at this hour he’d have to pass through a few congested areas.
So it’d still be a while before he could make it here.
Hopefully he’d hurry the hell up.
Chen Yan didn’t really want to get involved personally.
She wasn’t his daughter, after all.
This kind of busting in to rescue a little girl really should be handled by Angie’s own dad. She was the one who caused the trouble in the first place.
Whether it’s storming in or whatever else, whatever mess gets left afterward should be borne by her own family.
Just from the look of it, the owner of this place is clearly not some regular guy—rich and connected, the powerful type.
If he didn’t have to, Chen Yan had no desire to bring pointless trouble down on himself.
Besides, no one in that room had a fate that said they should die, and Chen Yan didn’t really want to make a move.
He’d already tipped them off, given them the address, and was even staying here to keep an eye on things.
In Chen Yan’s mind, that already made him the best tenant in the world.
·
In fact, the reason Chen Yan was willing to intervene at all in this whole thing—to run back and take the risk of causing trouble by going to find Frank the sports star, and even get physical—
besides the two reasons that Uncle Wu was his Landlord and Angie had once helped him bullshit the cops...
there was another reason, one even Chen Yan himself didn’t like to think about.
Angie might be pretty plain‑looking, but when she smiled, there was this subtle way the corners of her mouth hooked upward—
that angle was, maybe thirty percent, like "that girl."
·
By now, Angie actually wasn’t scared anymore.
At her age she really didn’t know how high the sky was or how deep the earth, confusing ignorance with "having personality."
On top of that, the alcohol had her whole body buzzing.
And this was her first time getting to be at this kind of "high‑end gathering."
