Priceless Baby's Super Daddy Chapter 5 - Be Serious!

In the villa's living room, her grandmother, father Xu Jinshan, stepmother Su Rui, and elder young lady Xu Xinrou were all assembled.

Upon entering, she observed the displeased faces of those seated on the sofa, feeling as though she were facing a tribunal.

Noticing Xu Xiyan, Xu Xinrou quickly grasped her arm, speaking with apparent warmth, “Yanyan, you’ve returned! Grandma, father, and mother have all been worried sick about you! Now’s your chance to explain yourself to them!”

Xu Xiyan detached herself from Xu Xinrou, showing no inclination to apologize. She questioned, “What necessitates an explanation?”

Unable to contain himself, Xu Jinshan slammed the table, shouting, “Vile spawn!”

Xu Xiyan feigned innocence. “From a biological standpoint, if I am a vile spawn and you are my father, wouldn’t that make you an ancient demon?”

“Be serious, you wretched girl!” Xu Jinshan felt as though he might explode.

“Why? Am I not being serious? Even if I’m not, I’m still superior to those who put on a false front!” Xu Xiyan directed a pointed glance at Su Rui.

It was clear these words were intended for “some people” to overhear!

Su Rui couldn’t help but furrow her brow. Why did Xu Xiyan seem like an entirely different person today?

Normally so compliant and utterly subdued by Su Rui, she was now talking back! What could have possibly happened?

Despite her unease, Su Rui maintained her facade of a loving wife and mother. “Yanyan, you shouldn’t speak to your father that way! Just apologize, and we can put this behind us!”

“I haven't done anything wrong, so why should I apologize?!”

Xu Xiyan, being the victim in the entire affair, found it ludicrous to be expected to admit fault.

“Where are your manners? If you possessed even half the sense your sister does, you wouldn't have been embroiled in such a colossal scandal!”

Her grandmother, enraged, struck her cane on the table, leveling accusations at Xu Xiyan.

Thanks in large part to Xu Xinrou, although Xu Xiyan held the title of second young lady of the Xu family, her life was far more wretched than that of any servant. Even her grandmother, who once doted on her, now regarded her with increasing revulsion.

“Yes! I lack what my sister possesses! If I had even half her cunning, I wouldn't be in such a pathetic state today!” Xu Xiyan retorted sarcastically.

“What are you implying? Aren’t we the best of sisters? How could you utter such words?” Xu Xinrou immediately burst into tears, acting as though deeply wounded.

“Best sisters? I was unaware that a good sister would so readily stab me in the back,” Xu Xiyan scoffed. “Sister, should I perhaps thank you for orchestrating my appearance on the headlines today?”

“Yanyan, what are you saying? I am profoundly sorry for everything you’re going through!” Xu Xinrou dabbed at her tears, her voice laced with concern.

Had this been the past, Xu Xiyan would have undoubtedly believed her. However, circumstances had irrevocably changed. She stated coldly, “Save your insincere tears! Stop the charade! It’s utterly repulsive!”

“Mom…” Xu Xinrou seemed heartbroken, burying her face in Su Rui’s shoulder as she sobbed.

“Look at yourself! You are precisely like your shameless mother! Like mother, like daughter!” Her grandmother fumed.

“Grandma, is it too much to ask for the truth? If my mother was shameless, then how would you characterize someone who seduces another woman’s husband, schemes against the woman, forces her out, and then assumes her place?”

Xu Xiyan lifted her chin, her voice ringing with righteous indignation.

Su Rui knew, more than anyone, the true circumstances surrounding her mother’s demise!
