Power of Runes Chapter 510: Chaos Harbinger
Previously on Power of Runes...
The golden sky was filled with a tranquil radiance as countless streams of Divine Energy silently drifted across the heavens, naturally filling every corner of the Heavenly Realm with an indescribable sense of holiness.
Brilliant golden white clouds slowly floated overhead, while magnificent cities built from white stone rested upon the land below, their countless towers reflecting the sunlight like enormous crystals.
Inside one of the many Sanctuary Inns built for traveling Angels, a lone figure quietly sat beside a crystal window, calmly watching the streets outside as Angels continuously walked past one another, some chatting with friends, some carrying out patrols, while others leisurely wandered through the bustling city as though this were nothing more than another ordinary day.
The figure quietly raised the cup resting before him before taking a small sip.
If anyone looked at the Angel right now, they would see nothing but an ordinary Saint Rank Angel.
Three pairs of magnificent golden wings rested behind his back, long golden hair fell over his shoulders, while a six-pointed halo slowly revolved behind his head, quietly releasing faint strands of holy light that perfectly matched the Divine Energy surrounding his body.
Within just a single day, Ash had already completed the Angel Bloodline Purity to 100%, allowing Morph to finally display its true capabilities.
It no longer merely changed his outward appearance, but completely transformed every aspect of his existence, making him a genuine Angel in every possible sense, whether it was his aura, bloodline or every subtle racial characteristic unique to the Angel Race.
Ash quietly thought as he looked out of the window.
Today was already his second day inside the Heavenly Realm, and what surprised him the most wasn’t the Angels themselves, but the flow of time.
It was exactly the same as Eden, he thought with the Realm bein different, time would be too.
That alone simplified countless future plans he had thought.
He has gathered a lot of information in just a span of a single day, with his mind related abilities, it was a piece of cake for him.
The place where he had first arrived after crossing the dimensional gateway had been the Headquarters of the Angel Race, Ash was glad that he left that place immediately.
There was absolutely no reason for him to remain anywhere near the gathering place of countless Celestial Rank experts and existences standing even above them when his objective had nothing to do with them.
After learning that information, he had traveled far away from that place before finally arriving at this city.
Luminara City.
Compared to the Headquarters, this place was considerably smaller, though calling it a city was still an understatement.
It stretched for hundreds of kilometers in every direction, with countless districts spreading outward from its center while millions of Angels and Half-Angels peacefully lived their daily lives.
According to the information Ash had gathered over the previous day, the strongest expert residing here was merely the City Warden, a Celestial Rank Angel responsible for governing the entire city.
That level of strength was acceptable, at least he will be able to escape if something happened.
Also, the Realm was very peaceful, with no dungeons or any threat from invasion, though there were powerful monsters and beasts in the wilderness, but the security measures were there in place for that scenario.
Ash quietly placed the cup back onto the table before resting his chin against one hand.
He didn’t want to waste too much time wandering around the Heavenly Realm, and delaying his task, as it would not be better for both him and Eva.
At the same time...
He also had no intention of rushing forward and attacking blindly.
As for the reason...
Ash himself didn’t think there needed to be one.
He simply wanted to.
To be honest, his hatred toward the Angels wasn’t nearly as deep as the hatred he carried toward the Devils.
After all...
The ones who had taken Elysia from him were the Devils.
More precisely...
Orien.
Unfortunately, that bastard was currently somewhere inside the Abyssal Realm, and although Ash wasn’t nearly powerful enough to wipe out either of those Realms, he was more than capable of planting the seeds of chaos that would gradually spread throughout both the Heavenly Realm and the Abyssal Realm alike.
A faint smile unconsciously appeared on Ash’s face.
Naturally, those thoughts belonged only to the tiny sliver of consciousness residing inside this clone.
If Eva learned what Ash was secretly thinking, she would undoubtedly use the temporary authority she currently possessed and immediately stop every clone before things went too far.
Unfortunately for her, none of the clones had any intention of telling her nor could she read his thoughts.
For the moment, however, there was nothing for Ash to do except wait.
The four Angelic clones had already completed everything they currently could, and the next step of the plan entirely depended upon the four clones exploring the Abyssal Realm.
As he was waiting, suddenly a message flashed in front of their eyes....
{Devil Bloodline successfully integrated.}
{Current Devil Bloodline Purity: 100%}
Ash’s clone quietly smiled upon seeing the notification before him.
Without wasting another moment, he calmly stood up before leaving the Sanctuary Inn.
Only after leaving Luminara City and traveling hundreds of kilometers away did Ash finally come to a stop upon an empty mountain peak.
His eyes slowly swept across the surroundings, before muttering...
"...Morph."
Golden light quietly faded from his body as strands of crimson-black energy silently emerged from within, his long golden hair gradually turning pitch black, while the halo behind his head disappeared and a pair of dark horns slowly emerged from his forehead.
At the same time, the three pairs of golden wings behind his back gradually darkened until they became deep crimson-black, and they melded together to become a single pair of bat like wings.
His skin tone became as pale as that of a Snow, and his eyes became pitch black without any iris.
Only a few moments later...
The transformation was complete.
Ash slowly looked down at his own hands before a satisfied smile gradually appeared on his Devilish face, making him look creepy.
At this moment, whether it was his appearance, aura, bloodline, or the energy flowing throughout his body, everything belonged to a genuine Devil.
The next moment, his figure silently disappeared from the lonely mountain peak, leaving behind nothing but the gentle breeze quietly sweeping across the silent landscape.
Ash’s plan was simple.
He would kill the Angels while bearing the identity of a Devil, and kill the Devils while bearing the identity of an Angel, making both sides believe that someone from the opposing Realm was responsible for every death.
With four clones and the [Divine Traversal] ability at his disposal, there were very few places capable of restricting his movements. He intended to spread fear across both Realms alike, making Angels and Devils live in constant unease, and if those incidents eventually escalated into a war between the two Realms, that outcome would only serve his purpose even further.
Of course, whether his actions would truly ignite an untimely war or lead to something far more unexpected...
Only time would tell.
As Ash’s clone silently traveled through the sky at an astonishing speed, an unexpected notification suddenly appeared before his eyes.
*
"...Hm?"
Ash’s brows rose slightly.
"I haven’t even done anything yet, but I already got the title..?"
Curiosity immediately replaced the slight surprise on his face as he slowed down before casually opening the title’s description.
**
[Title: Chaos Harbinger]
[Effect]:
**
Ash quietly read the description before the corners of his lips slowly curved upward.
He couldn’t help but chuckle.
"...Since when did the reality start favoring me?"
He wasn’t particularly excited.
Just... surprised.
It was an unexpectedly pleasant effect.
Just as Ash was about to continue on his way, a familiar voice suddenly echoed within the mind of every clone.
{What is this? A new Title...? How did you get this...?}
The smile on Ash’s face instantly disappeared.
His expression became completely neutral, as though someone had erased every trace of emotion from it.
