Power of Runes Chapter 415: Finally Completed (2)
Previously on Power of Runes...
Outside World.
Once the Three Eternal Supremes had drawn away every life-bearing planet from the Universe to form a fresh Realm, the hushed cosmos grew far more desolate, while the once-still starry expanses chilled deeper and voided further, as though an immense swath of vitality had been stealthily banished from being.
Naturally, a few planets lingered, those devoid of mana or populated solely by plain mortal races lacking any prospect for advancement.
Still, these worlds chiefly lingered in the universe's dead zones or void regions, areas utterly lacking mana or any exploitable energy, rendering cultivation or evolution utterly impossible.
Nevertheless, amid that immense void, a desolate planet hovered in some remote stretch of the starry void, encircled by myriad asteroids lazily orbiting under its gravitational tug.
This world knew no peace.
Ferocious tempests of pure, untamed cosmic gales battered its face without cease, joined by savage thunderbolts, ceaseless downpours, corrosive vapors, spewing volcanoes, and myriad other cataclysms that perpetually remolded the wasted terrain.
Yet such wild turmoil proved utterly typical for a dead world where life had never taken root to steady the chaos.
Nothing out of the ordinary here.
However, a closer inspection of the sprawling asteroid belt encircling the planet revealed one wandering stone that stood subtly apart from its fellows.
Its form evoked a shriveled Buddhist monk in lotus pose, like some sculptor had hewn the stance straight from the rock. That asteroid's exterior held an eerie allure too, pitch-dark with minuscule white flecks dotting it akin to remote stars gleaming in profound night.
Still, even spotting this odd form, most would dismiss it outright.
The stone emitted zero aura.
It seemed wholly devoid of life, mere commonplace cosmic rubble adrift.
Then abruptly, a subtle snap resounded in the soundless vacuum.
A slender vertical fissure gradually formed over the odd rock's surface, silently extending along its frame.
From that split, gentle whitish and rainbow-tinted cosmic mists seeped out, languidly wafting into the surrounding emptiness.
In that instant, the whole Universe plunged into profounder hush.
The very second that entity inside the stone peeked forth the tiniest bit, the Universe responded at a core level so profound that fate and destiny for all creatures halted briefly.
Across infinite eons, the Universe upheld flawless harmony via a majestic order ruling every life within its bounds.
Each born entity bore a mark linking it to the grand totality.
Space recognized them as dwellers in its boundless reaches, time chronicled their life's passage, fate spun strands tying their existences into the cosmic weave, destiny molded potential paths ahead, and karma quietly weighed their deeds.
Gods, ancient void beings, and abstract entities beyond normal life all fell under this sweeping order.
They integrated into the system shaping reality.
But now, something emerged bearing none of those signatures.
At reality's deepest stratum, the Universe itself sought to pinpoint the intruder entering its realm.
The probe yielded zilch.
It was like a being had materialized from beyond the tale reality narrated. No trace of it existed anywhere.
And since this existence linked not to the Universe, it concealed its powers and secrets from universal sight.
Failing to classify the oddity, the Universe reflexively moved to restore equilibrium, starting with the vast Fate web spanning the cosmos.
Fate's strands linking all lives quivered, straining to detect the fresh arrival.
Every soul trailed threads through reality's fabric, tethering to myriad others and steering future courses.
Such strands could be glimpsed, altered, or cut by those attuned to them.
But Fate's hunt for this newcomer's thread discovered none.
No such filament wove into the tapestry.
Destiny followed suit.
The colossal destiny river coursing the cosmos sought to gauge the intruder's role in the Universe's evolving saga.
Destiny flowed not as fixed tale but endless branching potentials shaped by myriad choices.
Yet as the river stretched its gaze to the anomaly, an unheard-of event unfolded.
No futures lay visible.
No possibility forks.
No traceable trails ahead.
This newborn entity stood wholly beyond destiny's current, untouched by the flow bearing all other lives through time's cascade.
Karma roused too, as the unseen scale logging every cosmic cause and effect tried to register the new birth.
Normally, existence sparked karmic imprints instantly, forging a hidden ledger of one's worldly impacts.
Even birth wounds one's mother, however unwittingly—that counts as karma.
But Karma's bid to stamp this advent found naught to etch.
No virtue.
No vice.
For the cosmos's first time, the engines of fate, destiny, and karma met a life beyond their grasp.
The shock rippled into reality's bones.
The grand Universal System, forged by the Three Eternal Supremes and tied to the Universe, jolted at its core foundations.
Crafted to monitor, catalog, and foster every life in the new Realm—save Abyssal and Heavenly races—it offered chances and steered growth for strengthening civilizations.
But now, it faced what even the Universe couldn't handle.
A life with no valid existence tag.
Scans swept the Universe repeatedly, hunting the disturbance's root and labeling the trigger.
Each sweep echoed the same: no such life fit reality's mold.
Still, the unseen waves pulsed outward through existence's depths like ripples on an infinite sea.
Universe couldn't name it.
Fate couldn't snare it.
Destiny couldn't foresee it.
Karma couldn't weigh it.
After countless eras, a being had slipped the noose binding all life.
Far past normal space, in a realm atop most imaginable heights, the Transcendent Eternal Supreme shifted focus to the starry void.
His insight bypassed energy or presence, tracking instead the core laws upholding being. Now those laws twitched faintly, like a novel factor entered the cosmic balance formula.
The Transcendent Eternal Supreme traced the tremors through fate, destiny, and karma, pursuing the shock across reality's scaffold.
Yet prolonged scrutiny left the source unseen.
The waves swelled undeniably, snowballing onward.
But origin eluded grasp.
"So fate has lost a thread."
"No... it is not lost."
"It simply does not exist....hahaha....what the hell has been born in the universe? Is this the effect of forcefully creating a realm?"
Deep in the eternal abyss swallowing faded galaxies' glow, the Abyssal Eternal Supreme felt the stir as void flows quivered to the anomaly in the lower Universe.
His sense sprawled over the star-packed void, probing for the change's culprit.
"Interesting..."
"A presence that carries no fate, no destiny, and no karmic imprint."
The Eternal Supreme probed anew, scouring the cosmos fully—still nothing.
"Hmm."
"It exists... yet it does not belong."
In luminous domains where light's laws lived as entities, the Heavenly Eternal Supreme halted as cosmic harmony flickered.
Tracing via reality's weave, like prior fate and destiny, yielded no anomaly explanation.
"A life outside the framework of existence..."
"Such a thing should not be possible."
The Heavenly Eternal Supreme eyed destiny's stream again, anomaly still cloaked.
"It has escaped the threads. Just like what happened years ago when fate suffered damage. Is it related to that incident..? Looks like I need to personally investigate it this time, with all the races being gathered at the new realm, it will make the task easier."
The Universe detected the shift.
Its supreme lords detected the shift.
None pierced the veil to its cause.
In the new Realm, Myriad races' ancient cultivators abruptly sensed odd disquiet in their cores, fates and destinies subtly skewing past grasp.
Godbeasts long dormant in stellar hearts twitched uneasily, ancient dragons in cosmic drifts lifted vast necks sensing far-off gales unborn.
None fathomed the event.
Yet amid vast mute void, masked by asteroid drifts near a turbulent waste world, the odd black rock's fissure yawned wider.
Escaping rainbow cosmic fogs thickened, eddying with dim gleams like Universe shards.
And in that mute husk, the entity whose emergence shook fate, destiny, karma, and reality's frame cracked open its eyes.
