Peerless Martial God 2 Chapter 1735: Going to the Godly Temple!
Previously on Peerless Martial God 2...
Godly Emperor Purple Dragon and the others felt immense displeasure. Godly Emperor Purple Dragon and Godly Emperor Ghost were stupefied by their swift defeat, finding it hard to even draw breath. How could this be? During the Competition, he was on par with them. Had he been concealing his true might all along?
Contemplating this, Godly Emperor Purple Dragon and Godly Emperor Ghost could only offer a sigh. Godly King Taotie possessed terrifying strength, a stark contrast to the Godly Emperor Taotie they once knew!
“May I enter the Godly Temple now?” Lin Feng inquired, his expression unreadable. The guard, though angered, was merely a clone and dared not offend Lin Feng. He had no recourse but to force a smile and reply, “Certainly, you may.”
“Very well, I shall proceed then. Mahoraga, accompany me!” Lin Feng declared with a nod. Godly King Horned Mahoraga appeared quite pleased, sauntering past Godly King Giant Head with an air of pride. This infuriated the latter, who felt an urge to strike, but ultimately, he managed to rein in his rage.
Lin Feng guided Godly King Horned Mahoraga towards the passageway leading into the palace interior. His movements were swift and effortless. Witnessing their disappearance into the tunnel, Godly Emperor Purple Dragon and Godly Emperor Ghost were overcome with envy and jealousy.
“Master, how can we let this matter rest?” Godly King Giant Head exclaimed. He recognized his insufficient strength, but the guard was one of the three Ancient Godly Kings… How could he simply accept this? How could he permit Godly King Taotie to act with such arrogance and aggression?
The guard scowled, then smiled, “Why not? Godly King Taotie is on the verge of becoming an Ancient Godly King. We shall soon hold equivalent positions. Why would I incite his displeasure?”
The three Godly Kings perceived his simmering resentment beneath the outward smile!
Lin Feng had affronted an Ancient Godly King without yet attaining that status himself. Despite possessing the strength at the peak of the Earthly Godly Ancestor layer, within the Godly Temple, he was not yet deemed an Ancient Godly King!
As long as he remained unconsecrated as an Ancient Godly King, why not impart a valuable lesson? Godly Emperor Purple Dragon’s gaze turned icy. He eagerly awaited that opportune moment!
“Master, they have entered. What about us?” Godly Emperor Ghost inquired, anxiety palpable about his own access. Gaining entry to the palace signified an ascent in hierarchical standing. Furthermore, it offered an opportunity to advance to the pinnacle of the Earthly Godly Ancestor layer!
Were he to achieve the strength of the peak Earthly Godly Ancestor layer, Godly King Taotie would cease to be a threat. He would no longer need to grovel before the Ancient Godly Kings, acting like a subservient lackey. However, for the present, this remained a distant aspiration…
The guard cast a resentful look at Godly King Giant Head, Godly Emperor Purple Dragon, and Godly Emperor Ghost. His fury, stoked by Godly King Taotie, now vented upon them. “Only two of you shall be permitted entry!”
Abruptly, the three Godly Kings reverted to their primal beast forms, engaging in a chaotic brawl. After a considerable duration, Godly Emperor Purple Dragon and Godly Emperor Ghost, accompanied by the guard, finally proceeded into the tunnel.
What remained of Godly King Giant Head was merely his head; even his body had vanished. He was deceased!
——
The Godly Temple stood as the most sacred sanctuary within the Ancestral World, a congregation point for exceptionally powerful cultivators, predominantly beasts, though humans were also present.
Upon their arrival, Lin Feng felt an overwhelming sense of insignificance. His gaze swept across the seemingly infinite expanse, dotted with structures as far as the eye could see. It presented a stark divergence from the World of Battles. These edifices were not constructed from bone but exuded magnificence!
It was understandable why the Godly Temple restricted unrestricted access for beasts. The inhabitants of the Godly Temple led lives of opulence and luxury. Were the auditors to discover this disparity, feelings of injustice would undoubtedly arise, potentially igniting conflict.
Yet, the Godly Kings possessed the authority to inform other beasts of these conditions… Therefore, was Chi You unconcerned about the welfare of the other beasts?
Lin Feng remained unaware of Chi You’s motivations. His sole focus was that the Godly Temple’s domain spanned millions of li. Locating Chi You would not be a straightforward endeavor… however, having embarked on this journey, he had anticipated such challenges.
His objective was simply to trace Chi You’s Qi.
“Brother, I depart!” Godly King Horned Mahoraga announced with exhilaration before vanishing into the Godly Temple’s skies.
“Lin Feng, permit me to emerge!” a delicate female voice resonated in his ears. It emanated from Lin Feng’s spirit world, and he belatedly recalled Princess She Xiang.
Energies of space and time manifested; lights flickered, and Princess She Xiang materialized. With few individuals present, he could allow her emergence.
“Lin Feng, my father might be held captive here; I must survey the surroundings!” Princess She Xiang stated nervously. She had not seen her father for centuries.
Lin Feng gave a nod, completely approving of her bravery and actions. Her father, it seemed, was incredibly powerful, having once presided over the Ancestral World. He was likely a Heavenly Godly Ancestor, or perhaps he had even surpassed that level to reach the Tian Dao layer.
His capture, however, indicated that the false Tian Dao had aided Chi You.
“Go, but be cautious. If you require assistance, shatter this talisman,” Lin Feng advised, presenting her with a cyan talisman.
While it was prudent to have it on hand as a precaution, her inherent nature would ensure she proceeded with the utmost care.
Princess She Xiang accepted the talisman, offered a slightly embarrassed thanks to Lin Feng, and then vanished from his sight. A lingering trace of her perfume remained.
The scent did not trouble him; he already had a multitude of women. They were more than sufficient. Ni Huang, he mused, was likely to be his final companion. He had no intention of bringing more women into his circle, especially now that he was a grandfather. To seek further romantic entanglements would surely paint him as a depraved elder.
“I must now search for some leads. The Godly Temple is vast,” Lin Feng sighed, and then he too disappeared.
——
Not long afterward, the guard, along with Godly Emperor Purple Dragon and Godly Emperor Ghost, arrived at the scene. Lin Feng was nowhere to be found, but they detected the distinct aroma of a human woman, leaving them astonished.
“How can there be the Qi of a woman here? And she’s human!” the guard exclaimed in confusion. He turned and bellowed at Godly Emperor Purple Dragon, “Go find the leader yourself! I have matters to attend to!”
With a flicker of his form, he vanished.
Godly Emperor Purple Dragon and Godly Emperor Ghost exchanged glances and let out cold snorts, disregarding the guard entirely. They, too, possessed their own pride.
“Let’s hope you manage to return,” Godly Emperor Ghost remarked.
“You as well. Try not to meet a tragic end,” Godly Emperor Purple Dragon responded. Both then disappeared into the crimson sky.
Godly Emperor Purple Dragon produced a resplendent purple jade pendant emanating dragon Qi and smirked, “Why should I fear? There are other purple dragons from my clan present!”
He broke the talisman and vanished. Silence descended once more.
——
Ninety percent of the inhabitants within the Godly Temple were beasts, with the remaining ten percent being humans. When beasts committed transgressions, they were relegated to human territories, implying that human existence was far from idyllic.
Lin Feng no longer maintained the pretense of being Godly King Taotie; it was unnecessary within the Godly Temple. This time, he did not adopt the guise of an ordinary middle-aged man. Instead, he donned his Asura Mask and adopted the name Asura.
——
“I’ve heard rumors of clashes between slaves and beasts on the Man Huang Field. Hehe. I wonder how many slaves will perish.”
“Is that so? Fantastic! Let’s go witness it!”
“How? You need a talisman to access it. One must be a Godly Envoy.” …
As Lin Feng strolled down a street, he overheard a conversation amongst some beasts. His expression remained unchanged, though a flicker of anger ignited within him. Despite no longer being the supreme ruler of the Ancestral World, he still harbored concern for human lives.
The beasts of the Ancestral World persisted in their cruel humiliation and torture of humans. Not a single human cultivator dared to intervene. These beasts deserved to die!
Ah, perhaps it is best not to dwell on it. I shall go and observe. It appears to be a significant event. Chi You might even be in attendance! he pondered.
A cluster of men congregated around those who had just spoken. Lacking the necessary talisman, they were eager to glean more information about the impending battles.
The street was expansive. Both the sidewalks and the towering edifices were constructed from colossal cyan stones, polished to a brilliant sheen. Nevertheless, the surrounding Qi felt oppressive and somber.
Lin Feng fell into step with a group heading towards Man Huang Field.
