Peach Blossom Divine Medical God Chapter 2358 - 2314: The Old Emperor’s Reward

However, this fear did not last long.

Because the recovered Old Emperor did not say much.

He only asked a few questions about who cured him and whether everything has been well recently before dismissing the ministers temporarily.

Hearing this from the Old Emperor, the Python King and others breathed a sigh of relief.

They believed the Old Emperor was unaware of recent events.

Thus, they departed with peace of mind.

After everyone left, the Old Emperor’s demeanor abruptly turned cold.

"Kang’er."

The Old Emperor looked at Jing Kang.

"Father." Jing Kang hastily bowed.

"Come with me to the rear palace, I have something to discuss with you." said the Old Emperor.

"Yes, Father."

Jing Kang quickly walked up to the dragon throne to support the Old Emperor, intending to head to the rear palace.

Chen Yang and Qin Qingfeng, however, remained standing still, quietly watching as the Old Emperor and Jing Kang left.

After they left, the three returned to the Eastern Palace.

On the way back, no one spoke.

Because all three felt the Old Emperor’s behavior was somewhat peculiar.

If he hasn’t discovered the Python King’s treacherous intent, why did his demeanor turn cold?

But if he has discovered it, why pretend as if nothing happened?

Additionally, why did the Old Emperor ignore them?

After all, Chen Yang saved his life.

Unable to make sense of many things, Chen Yang did not dwell on them and upon returning to the Eastern Palace, immediately discussed with Tu Qi.

The two simultaneously decided that when Jing Kang returns, they will take their leave.

Continue towards the Teta Desert.

That is their true destination.

The happenings in the Great Jing Dynasty were just an accident.

It was a long time after they returned to the Eastern Palace, probably five or six hours before Jing Kang returned.

Chen Yang was about to express his intention to leave, but unexpectedly, Jing Kang first indicated that the Old Emperor wanted to see him.

"The Emperor wishes to see me?" Chen Yang was somewhat stunned.

Uncertain about what the Old Emperor intended.

To express gratitude?

After all, he was aware earlier that Chen Yang saved him.

"Yes, Brother Chen Yang, it’s not just you, Father also wishes to see Elder Qin." Jing Kang said excitedly.

Chen Yang had doubts but seeing Jing Kang’s expression, it seemed not to be a bad thing, so Chen Yang agreed.

Then, he and Qin Qingfeng followed Jing Kang to the rear palace once again.

Inside a palace in the rear palace, the Old Emperor was nurturing his spirit.

Although Chen Yang had healed his condition of reversed meridian flow, the damage caused by reversed Spiritual Energy was still significant.

He needed quiet recuperation to gradually recover.

Perhaps sensing the arrival of Chen Yang and others, he stopped his nurturing, opened his eyes, and looked at Chen Yang.

"Greetings, Your Majesty."

Chen Yang and Qin Qingfeng did not perform a kneeling ceremony, only slightly bowed to show respect.

They were not citizens of the Great Jing Dynasty; naturally, they did not need to kneel.

"Rise." The Old Emperor smiled faintly, indicating.

"Gentlemen, I called you here to express my gratitude for what you have done for me and the Great Jing Dynasty. I am aware of everything."

"Without the two of you, the Great Jing Dynasty would have been in great peril, and my life might also have been no more."

The Old Emperor, no longer as imposing, showed only kind smiles.

Like a dignified ordinary elder.

"Your Majesty exaggerates." Chen Yang responded casually, without saying much.

Qin Qingfeng, however, smiled and said, "Your Majesty is too kind. The Qin Family was once looked after by the Great Jing Royal Family; otherwise, we would have been exterminated long ago. Our current actions are just repayment for that old kindness; Your Majesty need not be so."

Upon hearing this, the Old Emperor’s smile deepened.

"In the past, my Great Jing was on good terms with the Qin Family. It was unfortunate that the Qin Family perished, and the previous Emperor deeply regretted it. Just then, the Great Jing had just founded, unable to offer much assistance, only to secretly protect you." The Old Emperor said with a smile.

"The past kindness of the Great Jing, the Qin Family has always remembered." Qin Qingfeng said.

"Indeed, the descendants of Great Qin, truly possess the demeanor of their ancestors, I admire the Jing Family." The Old Emperor nodded and then asked, "Is the Qin Family facing any challenges now? Elder Qin’s assistance in helping the Great Jing through the crisis is truly appreciated."

After reminiscing about old matters, the Old Emperor addressed the main topic.

Ultimately, he still wanted to thank Qin Qingfeng for his assistance.

Qin Qingfeng shook his head and said, "The Qin Family has a mountain residence provided by Your Majesty which is adequate, no other desires. Today’s actions were also to repay the past kindness of the Great Jing, how dare I ask for a reward from Your Majesty?"

"Hehehe, although you say so, I know the Qin Family resides in the deep mountains, with limited resources. I will grant all the tax from the frontier city to the Qin Family, how about that?" The Old Emperor said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Qin Qingfeng’s expression evidently showed some emotion, hesitated for a couple of seconds before he thanked, "Thank you, Your Majesty."

"No need." The Old Emperor gently waved his hand and then looked at Chen Yang again.

"This young friend is truly a hero among youth. My condition, even the numerous Imperial Physicians at the palace, had no solution, yet unexpectedly cured by this young friend. I was genuinely surprised upon hearing it."

"Your Majesty is overly praising, Your Majesty’s recovery is still due to Your Majesty’s great fortune, I simply have a modest skill." Chen Yang continued humbly.

The Old Emperor smiled slightly and continued, "This young friend is humble, if I truly had great fortune, how could I have experienced such reversal of veins during cultivation?"

"I have heard this young friend is not a citizen of the Great Jing Dynasty, I cannot think of any reward, how about you propose something? "

"As long as I can do it, I will certainly fulfill it."

The Old Emperor looked at Chen Yang with a very kind and sincere gaze.

However, Chen Yang did not know what he might request.

After thinking for a while, Chen Yang glanced at Jing Kang, then said, "Your Majesty, I do not need extra rewards, just follow the conditions agreed upon by the Crown Prince."

"Kang’er, you really negotiated terms with him?" The Old Emperor was slightly taken aback, then looked at Jing Kang.

Jing Kang stood up at this moment as well, cupped his hands and said, "Father, indeed, I have negotiated conditions with Brother Chen Yang."

"What conditions?"

Asked the Old Emperor.

"The Great Jing Royal Family owes Brother Chen Yang a favor, and I also intend to present a Cultivation Technique as a token of thanks." Jing Kang said.

"Hehe, so be it, then follow the agreements you made earlier." The Old Emperor chuckled upon hearing this.

He did not find any issue with the terms agreed.

"Young friend Chen Yang, your favor, I shall keep in mind, should you ever need the Great Jing in the future, you can come to me." Said the Old Emperor, as he took out a Beautiful Jade Token from his sleeve and tossed it to Chen Yang, "This is the Royal Token of the Great Jing, within the territory of the Great Jing, anyone who sees it will treat it as if I am present in person, take it."

Chen Yang took the Jade Token and examined it closely.

Indeed, it was of Beautiful Jade.

And exquisitely carved, very intricate.
