Peach Blossom Divine Medical God Chapter 2139 - 2095: Selling Goods
Previously on Peach Blossom Divine Medical God...
"This woman really doesn’t know what’s good for her. What did I do to deserve this? Clearly, I am the victim here," Chen Yang grumbled on his way out.
All along the way, he kept saying that he was the victim.
And from a strict point of view, that was indeed the case.
But he didn’t suffer any loss, did he?
Not to mention Jiang Yixue’s identity, even her looks were top-notch.
Compared to Feng Nihuang, she was not inferior, each had their own appeal.
With her looks and her status, who knows how many suitors she has in the entire Mystic Realm.
Yet she ended up with Chen Yang; how could he be at a loss?
"She definitely won’t calm down anytime soon, I’d better go back later," wandering aimlessly through the academy, Chen Yang felt a headache coming on.
He didn’t have anything to do anyway.
After thinking it over, he decided to take a trip to the Treasure Pavilion.
He wanted to find out more about the little monkey’s origin and more information about the Beast Spirit Fire.
The little monkey was currently in his gourd, but he had no clue about it at all, not even its species.
He definitely needed to investigate further.
Additionally, according to what Fu Jinbao said last time, many of the Heavenly Spirit Fires and Beast Spirit Fires have attributes.
Each type of fire has special effects.
He also wanted to figure out what type of Beast Spirit Fire the flamboyant flame inside the little monkey belonged to.
With this in mind, Chen Yang quickly headed to the Treasure Pavilion.
Because the chaos in the mountain had not yet ended.
Most of the students from Cangnan Academy were dispatched to the depths of the mountains to find ancient breeds and Beast Spirit Fires, making the entire Treasure Pavilion exceptionally quiet, with hardly anyone there except a few clerks.
Fu Jinbao was bored, sitting at the door cracking sunflower seeds, looking displeased.
Seeing Chen Yang come over, he immediately changed his expression and smiled.
"Oh, isn’t this Brother Chen Yang? Why are you visiting our Treasure Pavilion again? Are you here to buy or sell something this time?" Fu Jinbao said, full of smiles, but his grin always gave off a cunning vibe.
It felt like everything he said had a hidden trap.
"I’m here to sell you some stuff," Chen Yang replied calmly.
He came to gather information.
But he couldn’t ask too blatantly, so he prepared to sell some good items to him as a cover while prying for information.
"Selling stuff? Sure, let’s see what you’ve got this time," Fu Jinbao’s eyes lit up at the mention of selling, like he was ready to strip Chen Yang of everything.
"I can show you what I have, but I’ll say this upfront, give me a fair price. If you start lowballing me again, I’ll never come back," Chen Yang warned Fu Jinbao before taking anything out.
Making sure this sneaky guy didn’t pull any tricks.
"Heh heh, little brother, don’t say that. How could I trick you? Just take it out, and I’ll offer a fair price," Fu Jinbao chuckled awkwardly.
Seeing his response, Chen Yang then took out what he intended to sell.
Two inner cores and a few herbs.
He had scoured these items from his lair deep in the Ferocious Beast Forest.
Most of these were rather standard items, as was the case with these few.
The better ones, he didn’t take out, intending to either use them himself or exchange them for something in the future when necessary.
Besides, he wasn’t short on contribution coins, so he decided to hold onto them for the time being.
He only brought out these standard items to facilitate information exchange.
Otherwise, he would never have taken them out.
"Inner cores? And a few herbs?" Fu Jinbao looked serious when examining what Chen Yang took out.
But he kept a solemn face, making it unclear what he was thinking.
"Well? Can you accept them?" Chen Yang broke the silence to inquire when Fu Jinbao didn’t say a word.
Fu Jinbao snapped back to reality and nodded quickly, "Yes, we can take them, but Brother Chen Yang, I’ll be honest, these aren’t particularly rare compared to what you brought last time; there’s quite a gap."
"I’m straightforward here, no tricks are involved, I swear."
After explaining, worried that Chen Yang might not believe him, Fu Jinbao added a special note to assure him.
Chen Yang was naturally aware that these items were not as good as his previous ones.
After all, he was there mainly to gather information, not to exchange for contribution coins, so naturally, he wouldn’t bring any high-quality items.
"Hmm, they’re indeed not as good as last time, but there’s still a price, right?" Chen Yang nodded, accepting Fu Jinbao’s comment and urged him to make an offer.
Fu Jinbao’s expression turned serious again.
After a few moments of silence, he said, "If it were anything else, I could quote you, but this inner core is not my expertise. Others in the pavilion would have to take a look to give you a price."
"Okay, you can go, I’ll wait," Chen Yang agreed and nodded.
Then, Fu Jinbao called a clerk to take Chen Yang’s items to someone else for appraisal.
"Heh heh, Brother Chen Yang, appraising inner cores takes time, let’s not stand around stupidly waiting, come in and have some tea," Fu Jinbao invited Chen Yang with a smile.
And since Chen Yang needed this opportunity, he certainly wouldn’t refuse, welcoming the chance instead.
"Sure." He nodded slightly and followed Fu Jinbao into the Treasure Pavilion, sitting in the tea room.
The Treasure Pavilion seemed really affluent; the tea room was luxuriously decorated.
Moreover, the tea sets were even carved from Spirit Stones.
The teacups were crystal clear, with a faint spiritual energy emanating when held, feeling very comfortable.
Chen Yang was a bit surprised at such tea utensils, but he didn’t say much.
After drinking a couple of cups, he casually started discussing the mountain situation with Fu Jinbao.
"Manager Fu, any idea when this situation in the mountain will settle? There’s hardly anyone left at the academy and it seems to have affected your Treasure Pavilion’s business as well," Chen Yang began.
Fu Jinbao smiled nonchalantly, "I think it should end soon. It’s been two or three days with no leads, quite strange."
"I heard some factions have already withdrawn, and I believe the rest will leave soon too."
"As for my business, I’m not worried at all."
"In fact, the more people that go to the mountains, the happier I am."
Chen Yang felt puzzled, "Why is that?"
"It’s simple, isn’t it? Since they’re all heading to the mountains, won’t they bring back some good stuff? And they’d come to my Treasure Pavilion to sell it, right?"
"Plus, those delving deep into the forest are likely to get injured and need talismans or might end up with damaged weapons and so on."
"The more they consume, the better my business will become. It’s straightforward, Brother Chen Yang, surely you understand?"
The more Fu Jinbao spoke, the more his grin grew, his eyes narrowing almost to slits.
"Heh heh, I see," Chen Yang nodded in realization, secretly cursing him as a crafty merchant.
