Chen Yang and his allies dealt with the Blood Bat Hall ambush, but the Chou Alliance suffered losses and scattered. To regroup, Chen Yang proposed splitting into four teams tasked with finding the surviving members before dawn. Chen Yang led one team north, He Xiran joined him, while Xiao Hei, Ao Min, and Chen Tianmin led the others in different directions. Chen Yang successfully found and rescued nine scattered members, including some severely injured, and they all headed towards a safe county town. Meanwhile, a powerful Blood Bat Hall team arrived at the scene of the previous battle, shocked by the destruction and the death of their deputy hall master.

"Slaughtering over a hundred cultivators in the Qi Refinement Realm simultaneously, leaving no one alive, doesn't seem to be something a Spirit Gathering Realm cultivator could achieve. This is becoming quite intriguing; it appears a creature with mutated abilities is among these rogues."

"It has morphed into a dog that can now bite."

The leader's words resonated with a chilling finality that sent tremors down the spines of those present.

"What course of action should we take now? It appears all the rebels have managed to escape." someone inquired with palpable anxiety.

"Initiate a comprehensive search. Scour all adjacent towns and hamlets. Every location that aroums suspicion must be meticulously examined. We shall turn this entire province upside down if necessary to locate these fugitives."

The leader issued his stern command.

"Understood!"

...

Meanwhile, as the clock edged past seven in the morning, approaching eight, Chen Yang guided He Xiran and the rest of their group towards the county town.

Their destination was the rendezvous point previously arranged with Ao Min and the others: the Lin Tianxia Hotel.

To ensure their arrival went unnoticed, Chen Yang had given Li Han prior notice to make arrangements at the hotel to provide support for their arrival.

Once all members of the rebel alliance had successfully infiltrated the county town, they managed to do so without attracting any undue attention and swiftly sought refuge within Li Han’s hotel establishment.

Chen Yang, having been the furthest behind during the pursuit, was consequently the last to return.

By the time he escorted He Xiran and the others back to the hotel, the remainder of their group had already arrived.

To accommodate their needs, Li Han had graciously reserved an entire hall for their use as a resting area.

Apart from herself and a select few trusted associates, no one else was permitted access to this designated space.

"Yang Zi."

"Chen Yang."

Upon observing Chen Yang’s entrance into the hall, both Li Han and Chen Tianmin promptly approached him to ascertain the situation.

"I succeeded in rescuing nine of our brothers; several are severely wounded and require immediate medical attention. How did matters fare on your end?" Chen Yang responded concisely, before inquiring about their progress.

Their results were moderately successful.

In total, they had managed to locate approximately twenty additional comrades.

As they had dispersed in various directions during their escape, the injuries sustained were relatively minor, with practically no life-threatening wounds.

"You've accounted for nine, which means, with these additions, our alliance now numbers thirty-eight members," Chen Tianmin stated, his expression etched with a complex mix of relief and sorrow.

Within the span of a single night, the rebel alliance had endured a devastating blow.

Recovering from this calamitous event could potentially take years.

Chen Yang fully understood Chen Tianmin's profound sense of grief.

However, he recognized that this was not the opportune moment for prolonged mourning.

Numerous injured individuals required urgent medical care to prevent their conditions from deteriorating further.

"Uncle, this is not the time for sorrow. Many of our brothers are injured. Our foremost priority must be their recovery, and only then can we address other pressing matters," Chen Yang offered words of comfort.

He Xiran, though equally heartbroken, concurred that this was not the moment for lamentation.

"Precisely, Uncle. Let us first assess everyone’s condition. Those who are unharmed need rest, while the injured demand immediate medical intervention. We cannot afford to lose another soul," He Xiran emphasized.

Chen Tianmin regained his composure and declared, "You are both correct. Let us consolidate our forces first."

With that resolution, he proceeded to liaise with the members of the rebel alliance.

Following such a tumultuous ordeal, many were physically and emotionally drained, their feelings in turmoil.

Not only was the collective morale significantly impacted, but their hearts also bore a heavy burden.

The loss of so many comrades in a single night was a profound tragedy for any group.

While Chen Tianmin was occupied assessing the overall situation, Chen Yang sought out Li Han.

Li Han, completely unaware of the preceding events, had simply adhered to Chen Yang’s instructions to discreetly house these individuals.

"Li Han, I truly appreciate your assistance. It appears we will be unable to depart today; we must remain at your hotel for a period to recuperate, and the injured require treatment here," Chen Yang conveyed to Li Han.

Although Li Han lacked knowledge of the specific circumstances, she offered her unwavering support to Chen Yang.

"Chen Yang, what are you saying? It is no trouble at all. You are most welcome to stay for as long as necessary; please refrain from speaking in a manner that creates distance between us." Li Han responded warmly.

A sense of warmth spread through Chen Yang's heart.

"Very well, I shall not mention it again."

"That is much better," Li Han replied with a gentle smile, quickly adding, "What arrangements do you require me to make now? Simply state your needs, and I shall see to them immediately. The hotel possesses ample rooms and staff."

Despite Li Han’s lack of awareness regarding the exact events, observing the exhaustion of her guests and the presence of many injured individuals made it clear that a significant incident had transpired.

The most immediate necessity was rest, as many were in no condition to exert themselves physically.

Upon hearing Li Han’s offer, Chen Yang did not hesitate and directly stated, "We require numerous rooms for everyone to rest. Furthermore, we need to prepare sustenance to help restore their strength."

"And for those who are gravely injured, a tranquil environment will be necessary for their treatment."

Chen Yang articulated the most pressing requirements in a single, swift statement.

Though the hall was cavernous and grand, it was far from suitable for proper rest and recuperation, which demanded a truly peaceful environment.

"Certainly, consider it done. I will personally see to the arrangements immediately," Li Han replied, her voice assuring.

After a brief moment of consideration, Li Han readily agreed and then departed from the hall to ensure the necessary preparations were made.

Scarcely had she left when Li Tianming approached.

His assessment of the situation was now complete.

The count revealed thirteen individuals with severe injuries, eight sustaining minor wounds, and the remainder relatively unscathed.

"Understood. Uncle, please wait here for a moment. I've already instructed Li Han to prepare resting quarters for everyone. It’s crucial you all get adequate rest. This county is no place for an extended stay, and we will need to depart again tonight," Chen Yang stated.

"Very well, we shall follow your lead, Yang Zi." Despite not having extensively interacted with Chen Yang, Chen Tianmin acknowledged his exceptional capabilities across various domains.

He was, in many respects, superior.

At this critical juncture, a decision was made to entrust their path to Chen Yang.

Chen Yang represented their sole hope.

"Excellent, then wait here for Li Han's arrangements. The injured are in dire condition; I must venture out to acquire some herbs for their treatment. Everyone, please hold on; I shall return shortly."

With the accommodation sorted, Chen Yang resolved to procure medicinal herbs for treatment.

"I will accompany you," He Xiran insisted, wanting to go with him.

However, after a quick assessment of her appearance, Chen Yang smiled and declined her offer.

"Look at yourself, covered in dirt and disheveled. You’ll draw far too much attention outside. Please remain here and assist Uncle. I will go alone," Chen Yang explained.

"Alright." He Xiran also recognized her state was unsuitable for public appearance, especially after the harrowing events of the previous night.

"Hmm," Chen Yang nodded, then turned his attention to Ao Min. "Ao Min, come with me."

"Certainly, younger brother. That was precisely my thought as well."

Ao Min readily agreed and departed with Chen Yang from the hotel, heading towards the pharmacy to purchase the necessary medication.

"Younger brother, your uncle’s team is truly extraordinary. To have survived with so many under the relentless pursuit of the Blood Bat Hall is a fortunate turn of events, despite the hardships," Ao Min remarked during their journey.

While the words might seem blunt, they held undeniable truth.

An ordinary group would likely have been annihilated under such pressure.

Yet, the rebel alliance managed to preserve over thirty members, a feat truly commendable.

The very existence of the rebel alliance was, in itself, a testament to their resilience.

What other organization could persistently challenge the Blood Bat Hall for seven years under their oppressive watch without being utterly destroyed?

And not only survive but continue to grow stronger?

It is highly improbable that any entity besides the rebel alliance could achieve such a remarkable accomplishment.
