Su Yuxin offers to teach Tao Mingqing how to ride a horse, which he hesitantly agrees to. They then travel together in a carriage to the palace, with Su Yuxin insisting that Tao Mingqing's attendant, Feng Tong, accompany them.

Su Yuxin saw that Tao Mingqing had seated himself no longer near the exit, so she said nothing more about Tao Mingqing.

Once they entered the palace, Su Yuxin directed the carriage towards the grand library, and it wasn’t until the carriage reached the steps below the library’s entrance that Su Yuxin alighted.

Tao Mingqing followed suit, getting off the carriage.

"You all can wait here. The Princess and Little Qingqing will go in." Su Yuxin left these words and ascended the steps ahead.

Tao Mingqing hurried to catch up.

Feng Tong and the guard waited at the library entrance.

The grand library was designed with high ceilings, at least five meters high, with many bookshelves inside, some reaching up to four meters. One had to navigate winding stairs just to take a book down from the upper shelves.

The library housed numerous books, almost every kind imaginable, especially ones Tao Mingqing had never seen before, in great abundance.

Though Tao Mingqing considered himself well-read, upon entering the grand library, gazing at the bookshelves filled with titles he’d never even heard of, he randomly opened a book, discovering each character to be a gem. His lips curled into a smile; he treated it as a treasure, unable to tear his gaze away, fully absorbed in flipping through its pages.

He completely disregarded the presence of Su Yuxin, the Princess Chang.

Watching Tao Mingqing open a book he hadn’t seen before and become wholly engrossed, Su Yuxin found it amusing.

Of course, Su Yuxin realized then that this person really, truly adored books.

However, his expression of excitement and passion while reading, indeed made him appear very appealing.

The more she looked, the more she felt he had descended from the heavens above.

At this rate, Su Yuxin too was enchanted, watching Tao Mingqing so absorbed, naturally refraining from interrupting his reading.

Fortunately, the nearby window was open, sunlight pouring through, casting a brilliant glow upon them, causing the guards stationed at the library entrance to imagine they were witnessing heavenly Gold and Jade children descending from above, matching perfectly, they’d rarely seen such a complementary pair.

Tao Mingqing intently reading, upon reaching the twentieth page, as the text transitioned to the second Chapter, paused. Then he began to consider other matters and finally realized he was accompanied by Su Yuxin, the Princess Chang, but had been so engrossed in the book he had forgotten Su Yuxin, leading him to feel a sudden panic.

As soon as he felt panic and raised his head, he saw Su Yuxin standing nearby, smiling at him. This made his ears slightly redden, and he hastily clasped his hands in apology: "Princess, please forgive me, it was rude of this commoner."

Su Yuxin had been watching Tao Mingqing so absorbed, but his sudden bow brought her back to reality.

No hint of shyness, she gracefully smiled and said, "Before, I knew you liked reading, but I hadn’t imagined you liked it this much. Here I am, beside you, and you’ve left me aside so you can focus solely on your book."

"Princess, please forgive me." Tao Mingqing continued to apologize.

Seeing him so hesitant and fearful, Su Yuxin first sighed helplessly, then laughed: "I forgive you. Alright, stop bowing. Looking at you, it seems you wish to kneel down and ask for pardon."

Tao Mingqing stopped bowing and fell silent.

To be honest, if Su Yuxin hadn’t previously warned that should he kneel before her, she would behead him, he would have already knelt down and pleaded for forgiveness.

"You don’t need to stand there; there’s a place to sit and read. Actually, you can sit there and read. However, do you truly not wish to tour this library first before slowly reading?"
