Su Xing’s husband, Taoming Ye, arrived unexpectedly, despite his poor health, to stay with her before their children’s exams. He reassured her that his father had agreed to their stay and his mother would not object. Though visibly weak, Taoming Ye insisted on staying to be with Su Xing, who was relieved to hear he had traveled with fewer difficulties this time and was happy to have him stay rather than run back and forth herself. Their tender reunion was interrupted by Madam Huo’s voice.

"Míngyè is here, right? Míngyè! Míngyè!"

Taoming Ye and Su Xing had both already closed their eyes, deeply immersed, but at the sound of Madam Huo’s voice, it was clear she was coming to see him. Su Xing almost instantly opened her eyes and quickly moved away from Taoming Ye’s lips.

She hurriedly wiped her own lips and then quickly wiped Taoming Ye’s lips, to prevent Madam Huo from noticing what they had just done.

Taoming Ye let Su Xing wipe his lips, finding it amusing. Yet, he felt that Su Xing’s eagerness not to let anyone know they had just shared a kiss was particularly, particularly cute.

Perhaps the emotional kiss from earlier had worked some magic; Taoming Ye’s previously pale face now had a touch of color.

Madam Huo entered the room and saw Taoming Ye lying on the bed; his complexion seemed okay, so she wasn’t as worried, though she still asked, "Míngyè, how’s your health?"

"Grandma..."

Taoming Ye wanted to get up to greet the elderly woman, but Madam Huo stopped him, "You better stay lying down."

Only then did Taoming Ye remain lying down, but he politely said, "Grandson-in-law has come, yet hasn’t gone to see Grandma first, causing inconvenience by making Grandma come to see me, my apologies."

"Your health isn’t great, it’s okay not to visit me first. Besides, as long as you and Xin’er live harmoniously, that’s better than any etiquette for me." Madam Huo said kindly, settling onto a round stool by the bed.

Su Xing laughed and said, "Grandma, Míngyè came because he felt sorry for me commuting between two places every day and has decided to move and stay with me here."

Madam Huo said happily, "That’s good, just afraid your parents-in-law might have issues."

Taoming Ye gently replied, "Don’t worry, Grandma. My visit here is with my father’s approval."

Tao Chengyin, being the head of the Tao family, had agreed, putting Madam Huo’s concerns to rest. She laughed and said, "I’ve always kept this room for Xin’er and you; now that you two are staying, you should stay in this room."

Su Xing laughed, "That’s exactly what I had in mind."

Seeing Su Xing’s smile, Madam Huo teased, "With your husband here, everything feels different, so sweet it might rot my old teeth!"

Madam Huo then turned to Taoming Ye, "You can’t imagine how she practices here every day, yet her thoughts are back home with you, rushing back as soon as possible."

Taoming Ye simply looked at Su Xing gently.

Su Xing let him look at her. After almost two months since their wedding, she was rarely shy anymore.

Madam Huo continued, "Now that you’re here and planning to stay, her heart should be more at ease; calling you her peace of mind wouldn’t be an exaggeration."

Su Xing chuckled, "Grandma, he isn’t that big of a peace of mind!"

Madam Huo was amused and laughed heartily.

Taoming Ye also laughed, while warmly and slightly apologetically speaking to Madam Huo, "No one has ever treated me as well as Xin’er does, and it’s my fault for being unwell, making Xin’er worry even when she’s out."

Madam Huo immediately replied, "Don’t say that. She worries because she cares about you. I know my granddaughter better than anyone. If her heart didn’t hold you, even as her husband, she wouldn’t bother worrying about you. Your health isn’t great, but don’t dwell on that; you two living well together is the right path."

Su Xing laughed cheerfully, "Grandma is right."

Madam Huo laughed and reprimanded, "Shameless!"

Su Xing said nothing, just laughed merrily.
