Taoming Ye smiled and replied, "Stepmother did offer to send more, but I didn’t accept. One young servant and one maidservant are enough for my courtyard."

Taoming Ye froze momentarily, then smiled, taking a hand out from under the blanket to gently stroke her smiling face, which was so close to his.

Su Xing immediately blushed, quickly sat upright, and thought how her robust self was being flirted with by her frail husband. Seeing Hong Ye and Ru Song both chuckling secretly, Su Xing blushed even more.

"Quick, tuck your hand back in, or you’ll catch a chill!" Su Xing said irritably, though her words were filled with concern for him.

Taoming Ye obediently tucked his hand back under the covers, though his face still bore a smile.

Seeing he had tucked his hand back, Su Xing tucked the edge of the blanket in for him again, then added in a fierce tone, "Think of me as a shrew or a rude woman if you want. As long as I’m your wife, don’t even think about having a chambermaid or concubine. I’ve told you now, so don’t blame me for not mentioning it later."

Under the blanket, his other hand still held hers.

Hearing her words, he felt a bit surprised. Although many women dream of being with their husbands for a lifetime exclusively, very few actually say it out loud and mean it.

Nonetheless, he tightened his grip on her hand under the blanket, "Rest assured, you haven’t abandoned me despite my condition; whether I’m healthy or sick in the future, I won’t have those thoughts."
