Peaceful Farm Life Chapter 2437 - 2438: Return to Tianyun (4)
Previously on Peaceful Farm Life...
An Jing stepped into her sixties, and her health was declining day by day.
Feeling like she was about to die, An Jing explained her afterlife plans in advance, making An Baobei, Su Mo, and others cry their hearts out.
When An Jing was sixty-seven, her body finally couldn’t hold on anymore, and she sweetly passed away in Su Changyi’s arms.
As soon as An Jing passed away, Su Changyi immediately stopped breathing, his eyes closed, never to open again.
In the modern world, Su Changyi’s eyes never opened again, but over in Tianyun, the always comatose Su Changyi opened his eyes.
When he opened his eyes and saw the familiar room, he sat up abruptly. Seeing his wife lying beside him, he quickly reached over to check her breath, and upon finding she was still breathing, he was instantly filled with joy of regaining something he had lost.
"Jing Er. Jing Er." He called softly to the person who hadn’t woken up yet. He wasn’t sure if she, like him, had also traveled back.
An Jing heard her husband calling, and she struggled to open her eyes. Once she opened them and saw her husband indeed calling her, she was a bit dazed: "Husband, am I not dead yet? Or did you die with me? Is this heaven, or hell?"
"Neither, we’re at our home in Tianyun."
"Huh?!" An Jing was momentarily unable to react.
Su Changyi continued, "You died in the modern world, and I followed suit. When I woke up again, we had traveled back."
An Jing realized, her eyes turned red, and she sat up to hug Su Changyi, "Who asked you to stop breathing too!"
"We’ve been together for two lifetimes, do you think I would let you walk alone?" Su Changyi gently hugged her back. "Even if it were only one lifetime, without you, I wouldn’t want to live." Her significance to him surpassed everything.
"However," Su Changyi continued, "I originally thought I’d have to commit suicide to go with you, but watching you die in my arms, I couldn’t even feel the pain, I just followed you and stopped breathing." He loved her so much that when she died, he just followed, silently, without any warning.
An Jing was infinitely moved. Yet soon, she became sad: "Now that we’ve traveled back, we must be dead in the modern world. Baobei, Mo’er, and the others must be heartbroken."
Su Changyi said, "At least there is a conclusion to their sorrow, and with time, they’ll be fine. But Jing’er and the others, there is no conclusion for them. It’s good that we traveled back now, at least they don’t have to suffer every day seeing us unconscious like that."
Death isn’t scary; what’s scary is not being able to die, being stuck like this, making the family suffer every day.
Being able to return to their seven sons in Tianyun was a bit of comfort for An Jing, who had lost her little daughter Su Xing.
It’s just...
"It feels like we’ve just had a dream." To be honest, An Jing really felt it was surreal.
Su Changyi, however, was very certain and said, "It wasn’t a dream, it was real, we truly traveled to the modern world, not only that, we even had a child, and Baobei lived very happily there."
An Jing nodded.
"Would you like to lie down a bit longer, or go out and take a look?" Su Changyi asked her.
An Jing smiled and said, "I want to go out and take a look, Jing’er and the others will definitely be very happy to see us wake up."
"Mm." Su Changyi helped An Jing get up.
But before they even got out of bed, the door was pushed open, and Su Yixing came in carrying two bowls of medicine soup. As soon as he came in and saw An Jing and Su Changyi awake and getting out of bed, he rubbed his eyes with his arm in disbelief.
