Ning Zihan immediately realized that An Baobei was just pretending earlier, and his face instantly turned sour.

But Su Mo and Su Xing were still hovering around his feet, looking up with eager little faces, raising their small hands, shouting excitedly: "Brother-in-law, lift high... lift high... come on..."

An Baobei quickly stopped laughing, tugged at Ning Zihan’s clothes, and coaxed him: "Honey, just lift them up. If you do, they’ll calm down. If you don’t, they’ll probably keep bugging you."

Ning Zihan had no choice but to bend down and lift Su Mo and Su Xing up one by one.

Afterward, without waiting for Su Mo and Su Xing to react, he strode upstairs. These two were little clingy ghosts, so he figured it was better to slip away early, lest he gets stuck catering to their endless demands.

He definitely had no patience for that.

An Baobei found it amusing as Ning Zihan dashed off without looking back.

Su Mo and Su Xing blinked their eyes and curiously asked An Baobei, "Sister, what’s wrong with brother-in-law?"

"Nothing, he has work, so he went upstairs to work. Come, let’s go sit on the couch over there. Tell sister what you want to eat, and I’ll have someone make it for you."

Led by An Baobei to the sofa, Su Mo and Su Xing happily responded in their little voices when asked what they wanted to eat: "We want bones, those big ones you can hold and gnaw on, and soup."

"Alright, sister will have someone make it for you right away." An Baobei instructed the housekeeper to tell the kitchen to prepare bone soup, along with other dishes, then played on the couch with Su Mo and Su Xing.

During dinner that evening, Ning Zihan had no escape and had to come down. As soon as he did, the two little ones surrounded him again, making his head spin.

An Baobei didn’t interfere and just sat there watching Ning Zihan and her younger siblings with a smile.

At night, Su Mo and Su Xing were afraid of the dark and didn’t want to sleep with strangers, demanding to sleep with An Baobei. She had planned to sleep with her siblings anyway, so she agreed.

Ning Zihan’s face turned dark immediately.

An Baobei, seeing Ning Zihan’s bad mood, suggested he sleep in the guest room, but he refused and stayed in the master bedroom. Yet, having the two little ones between him and An Baobei was frustrating.

No, it was extremely frustrating.

So, in the middle of the night, when the two little ones were asleep, Ning Zihan got out of bed, sneaked over to An Baobei’s side, pinned her down, and kissed her. An Baobei dared not struggle for fear of waking the kids and signaled for Ning Zihan to go with her to the guest room.

She certainly couldn’t do that with her siblings right beside her.

In the guest room, after Ning Zihan had his way, An Baobei snorted, "Seriously? You couldn’t hold it for one night!"

Ning Zihan said nothing, just held her tightly.

An Baobei, however, wanted to get up, take a shower, and return to the bedroom. She was worried the two kids might wake during the night, find themselves alone, and in the dark, start crying from fear.

But Ning Zihan wouldn’t let go and through clenched teeth said, "It’s all your dad’s fault! He did this on purpose! He can’t stand seeing us having couple time, so he sent them to you!"

An Baobei was at a loss of whether to laugh or cry: "It’s just the first night, and you’re already like this. My siblings are staying for a few more nights. How do you think you’ll be?"

Ning Zihan grunted, "It really is your dad’s fault."
