An Baobei visits her childhood home and discusses children with her husband, Ning Zihan. While he believes they should wait to have children, she expresses her desire to get pregnant soon, leading to a slight disagreement.

An Baobei thought about how he would tire her out every night, so it couldn’t really be a problem, then: "Could it be that I have a problem?"

Ning Zihan was at a loss whether to laugh or cry: "Stop overthinking it. Even if you have a problem, it’s no big deal. If you really want a child, we can always adopt one from an orphanage."

An Baobei didn’t want to adopt a child, always feeling it wouldn’t be the same. She just said, "I think I’d better go to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow. Whether or not there’s a problem with me, at least I’ll know for sure."

"You can have a check-up, but don’t overthink things. I don’t necessarily insist on having a biological child, so don’t put undue pressure on yourself," Ning Zihan said gently, holding her in his arms.

An Baobei felt both touched and sweet.

The next day, accompanied by Ning Zihan, An Baobei went to the S city Municipal Hospital for a physical examination. When the results came out, An Baobei was in excellent health with no issues at all.

The doctor, looking at the report, said to An Baobei in a very gentle manner: "Your body is in great condition, no problems at all. You’ve only been married a little over three months. It’s normal not to have conceived yet, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself either."

As he spoke, the doctor looked at Ning Zihan standing beside An Baobei, and said sternly, "You shouldn’t put too much pressure on her either!"

Ning Zihan: "..." What does this have to do with me?!

An Baobei quickly chuckled and said: "Doctor, it has nothing to do with my husband. He actually wants to enjoy a few more years of just the two of us. It’s me who’s eager to have a child."

The old doctor snorted, "Don’t speak for him. I’ve seen cases like yours many times. Coming to the hospital for this after just a little over three months of marriage, it’s not because the in-laws are pushing for a child, there’s no other reason!"

An Baobei: "..." It really is me eagerly wanting a child...

The old doctor glanced at the report in his hand and then said to Ning Zihan: "Your wife is fine. But you, do you want to get checked out too? In case it’s your issue preventing your wife from conceiving, don’t blame her then."

Ning Zihan, face darkened: "I’m perfectly fine! No problems at all! No need for a check-up!"

An Baobei’s smile was awkward: "Doctor, it really is me eager to have a child, nothing to do with my husband. My husband is quite healthy, no need for a check-up."

The old doctor snorted again: "Seeing how your wife protects you, young man, cherish her. Don’t regret it when you lose her; there’s no remedy for regret in this world."

Ning Zihan: "..."

Afraid her husband would explode, An Baobei quickly said: "Doctor, do you have any other advice for me? If not, my husband and I will be on our way."

The old doctor handed the report to An Baobei, still not letting it go: "As long as your husband is fine and you’re under no pressure, in a cheerful mood, you’ll conceive one day."

Ning Zihan: "..." Why am I the one taking the blame again?!

Forget it, seeing as this old doctor was also speaking for his wife’s sake, he’d hold it in and not argue.

"Haha..." An Baobei was really afraid her husband would lose his temper, so she took the report while smiling at the old doctor and hurriedly dragged her husband out.

As they took the elevator to the hospital’s underground parking lot, seeing no one around, An Baobei turned to her husband with a smile: "Honey, I really didn’t know the doctor would say those things about you, so please don’t be mad."

Although Ning Zihan still had a stern face, his hand was still firmly clasped with hers.

An Baobei continued to smile supportively: "Now that I’ve had the check-up, I feel more at ease. Could you please not stay angry because of this?"
