"Mm."
As soon as she heard Ning Zihan respond, An Baobei turned around and walked outside. Ning Zihan quickly caught up and intertwined his fingers with hers.
An Baobei’s whole body stiffened as he held her like this. Her heart raced, and even her face and ears felt hot. This was completely different from holding hands with Lu Yimi back then. She didn’t even dare to look at Ning Zihan. However, she didn’t struggle and tried her best to relax.
Despite trying to relax, a layer of sweat formed on her palm, making Ning Zihan’s hand a bit sweaty too.
Ning Zihan sensed her change and slightly curled his lips into a smile.
An Baobei caught sight of Ning Zihan smiling from the corner of her eye, and her face and ears reddened further—not from shyness, but from embarrassment. She hadn’t expected to react like this. He had held her hand before, but not like he did today. Plus, today her feelings for him were different again; she really fell for him once more. Now that they were officially a couple, it was the first time she felt this way—it was no wonder.
Seeing her like this, Ning Zihan felt even happier, and his lips curled even more as he spoke: "You’ve fallen for me again."
An Baobei immediately glared at him, "You didn’t just realize that today—don’t say it!"
Ning Zihan said nothing, just tightened his grip on her hand. When one’s mind clears, those trivial matters are no longer issues. His mood right now was thousandfold better than the past three days.
The two walked out of the president’s office hand in hand, catching wide-eyed stares from Liang Youxu and the members of the secretary’s office.
Are they seeing things?
This man, beaming like a spring breeze, couldn’t possibly be their everyday cold-faced president who snapped at people!
Seeing everyone looking at him in disbelief, Ning Zihan stopped smiling and shot a cold look, making everyone flinch. They quickly returned to their tasks, not daring to glance his way again.
An Baobei watched the scene, amused, and nudged him gently, whispering, "You’re too fierce."
Ning Zihan said nothing, just led her to the elevator.
But An Baobei wouldn’t let it go and quietly laughed, "If you dare to be that fierce to me in the future, I’ll break up with you immediately."
Ning Zihan still said nothing. But once they entered the elevator together and the doors closed, he spoke casually, "I’m a bit tempted to be fierce to you now."
An Baobei instantly chuckled, "Why?"
"You mentioned breaking up," he said, clearly unhappy since they had just gotten together!
An Baobei found it amusing.
Ning Zihan continued, "I won’t be fierce to you for no reason. If I am, it certainly means you’ve upset me. Can’t I express normal emotions?"
An Baobei found it even funnier, "So when you’re fierce to me, I should stick around shamelessly and soothe you?"
"That’s not necessary."
Holding back laughter, An Baobei asked, "So if I’m fierce to you, will you soothe me?"
"No."
An Baobei’s face fell.
But Ning Zihan continued, "I won’t soothe people. But I’ll let you hit and scold me."
An Baobei burst into laughter. This man was so genuine—genuine to the point where she couldn’t be angry, only feeling warmth in her heart, sweet even. She thought his words were the most touching ones she’d ever heard.
She tightened her grip on his hand slightly and looked at him with a gentle smile, "Let’s try not to fight. I don’t like fighting, no matter who starts it. I just don’t like it."
"Mm."
