Lu Yimi expresses his strong dislike for Ning Zihan, which causes some tension until the Su family smooths things over. Lu Yimi decides to return to work rather than continue his uncomfortable fake dating arrangement with An Baobei. Meanwhile, Ning Zihan, upon hearing the fake dating has ended, sends An Baobei a massive bouquet of roses, which she accepts into the courtyard despite refusing them from him.

An Jing walked out holding Su Mo and Su Xing, and seeing the sea of red in the yard, she laughed, "Did Ning Zihan send them again?"

"Who else would send me flowers besides him?" An Baobei said, hugging a bouquet of roses, not in the mood.

An Jing laughed, "Didn’t your Uncle Lu send you flowers last time as well?"

"Those were champagne roses, different from these. I like this kind better."

An Jing immediately laughed aloud, "Seems like Ning Zihan suits your taste, huh."

An Baobei wasn’t annoyed and replied, "It’s not him that suits my taste, it’s the flowers he sends that do. Mom, do you want some? Feel free to pick, there’s plenty here."

An Jing laughed, "I don’t want any, or your dad will get upset. I can only accept flowers from your dad."

An Jing didn’t want the roses, but Su Mo and Su Xing, the kids, were quite fond of the sea of red and wanted to run into it to play. But An Jing stopped them from doing so.

"Mo Mo, Xin Xin, be good, don’t go near the flowers, they have thorns and could hurt you."

Su Xing, however, was not listening and kept whining in a babyish voice, "Mommy... want flowers... want flowers..."

An Jing had no choice but to join An Baobei in plucking the thorns off two bouquets of roses, then gave them to Su Xing and Su Mo to play with.

...

In the days that followed, Ning Zihan not only frequently sent red roses to An Baobei but also occasionally flew to the Su Family in S City to stay for a couple of days.

Of course, staying was not the point; seeing An Baobei was. Everyone knew this, but since Ning Zihan was pursuing An Baobei quite properly, no one said anything.

That day, Ning Zihan was packing, preparing to go stay at the Su Family for another two days, when his phone rang.

His gaze shifted to the phone placed aside, and seeing it was a call from Li Junlin, Ning Zihan paused his packing, picked up the phone, and answered it.

As soon as it connected, Li Junlin’s cheerful voice came over: "Zihan, I’m getting married!"

While continuing to pack with one hand, Ning Zihan said indifferently, "You must be dreaming, right? Just the day before yesterday, you told me Wutong wouldn’t see you in the army, and today you’re telling me you’re getting married? Or have you given up on your childhood sweetheart and plan to marry someone else?"

"Rubbish! Who else would I marry but Wutong? I am marrying Wutong. She left the army for me, came back to my side, and won’t ever leave me again. Of course, I need to get married quickly, and she doesn’t object."

Ning Zihan snorted, "What did you do to make her leave the army for you? Being a soldier was always her dream."

"Hasn’t she already lived her dream? She’s been a soldier for so many years; it’s enough. Actually, nothing much, just three months ago I coughed up blood, and she happened to see it. She probably thinks I don’t have long to live, so she promptly left the army."

"Don’t speak nonsense about not having long to live. She’s not with you right now, is she? Otherwise, you wouldn’t dare say such things."

"She’s in the living room downstairs talking to her parents. You’re right; otherwise, I wouldn’t dare say so. If she really got angry, it’d be normal for her not to speak to me for a year or more."

"If you don’t provoke her, she won’t get angry." After a pause, Ning Zihan asked, "When’s your wedding?"

"The 18th of this month."

"So soon?" After all, today is already the 10th.

"I’ve actually had the wedding ready for ages, just waiting for her nod. Now that she’s given it, of course it can be quickly arranged, wouldn’t take long at all."
