Ethan realized the assassins were sent by the commanders in the tent, not Arcadia. Duke Valen revealed they never intended to spare Ethan, considering him useless now that his task was done. As Saint Realm experts and assassins attacked, Ethan used a token given to him by a mysterious woman. Despite his mana being sealed, his powerful body cultivation allowed him to fight back, injuring several experts. However, two Transcendent experts then unleashed a devastating attack, crushing the command tent and creating a massive crater.

A grave and somber atmosphere filled the entire room.

Duke Lancelot stood quietly beside the window while holding a thick cigar between his fingers. His eyes remained fixed on the city outside, but his thoughts were clearly elsewhere. Beside him, Duke Osantra quietly lit Lancelot's cigar before lighting his own. Neither of them spoke for several moments as the smoke slowly drifted through the room.

After taking a long puff to calm his restless nerves, Duke Osantra slowly exhaled and spoke with a heavy expression.

"Is it really alright to stay here instead of evacuating? I think we should gather all our forces together and leave this goddamned place while we still have the chance. If the Emperor truly makes his move, staying here will only make us easy targets."

As he spoke, a bitter smile appeared on his face.

Lancelot quietly looked at him with a trace of pity.

How could he not understand what Duke Osantra was feeling?

For so many years, Duke Osantra had faithfully guarded Crown Prince Haster. He had been one of the first people to support him and had helped him rise step by step. Yet when the time came, Haster had cut him off without the slightest hesitation and had even tried to kill him.

Lancelot slowly reached out and gently patted Osantra's shoulder.

"That is how difficult it is to follow a tiger. Every moment you have to stay on edge because the day it no longer needs you, it can turn around and devour you without warning. Don't be too sad."

Duke Osantra slowly shook his head while taking another puff from his cigar.

"I am not actually sad. I am more worried about what will happen next."

As he spoke, he slowly turned his head toward the back of the room where Rathlos sat behind a large desk. Just as always, Rathlos calmly sorted through stacks of documents while writing instructions and signing papers as though nothing unusual had happened outside.

Duke Osantra looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Are you really not worried?"

The question also caught Duke Lancelot's attention.

He turned toward Rathlos and quietly waited for his answer.

Rathlos slowly stopped writing before placing the pen onto the desk. He calmly adjusted his glasses and looked at the two Dukes.

"Of course I am worried about the safety of the estate."

He paused for a brief moment before continuing.

"But if you are talking about my Lord..."

"You don't need to worry about him."

"Huh?"

Both Duke Osantra and Duke Lancelot were visibly taken aback.

They stared at Rathlos in surprise.

Rathlos slowly leaned back in his chair while crossing one leg over the other.

A faint black aura quietly spread around his body.

The room suddenly became colder.

The strange aura slowly drifted across the floor like living shadows while the lamps flickered one after another.

The moment Duke Lancelot sensed it, his pupils shrank violently.

"You..."

His voice trembled slightly.

For the first time in a very long while, the calm Duke completely lost his composure.

The aura before him was no longer something an ordinary Saint Realm expert could possess.

Rathlos looked at the two of them with his usual calm expression.

"I have already reached this level."

He slowly smiled.

"So just think for a moment..."

"What level do you think my Liege has reached?"

Neither Duke answered.

Both of them simply stared at Rathlos in silence.

Rathlos slowly closed his eyes while the black aura around him became even denser.

The shadows behind him slowly twisted and stretched across the walls of the room like living creatures.

His smile gradually widened.

"My Liege can certainly be defeated."

He slowly opened his eyes again.

"But killing him..."

"Hehehe..."

A low and sinister laugh escaped from his lips.

The shadows behind him stirred violently for a brief moment before slowly calming down again.

Even the surrounding air seemed to become heavier.

Duke Osantra unconsciously tightened his grip around the cigar in his hand while Duke Lancelot remained completely silent.

Neither of them had expected the quiet steward of the Blank Estate to possess such terrifying strength.

After a brief silence, Rathlos slowly looked out the window toward the distant horizon.

A faint smile remained on his face.

"My only regret..."

He quietly muttered.

"...is that I wasn't able to accompany my Liege in the show."

....

A thick cloud of dust slowly drifted through the Allied camp. The violent shockwave had flattened everything within a huge area.

Tents had been torn apart, the ground was covered in deep cracks, and broken pieces of stone were scattered everywhere. At the very center of the battlefield was an enormous palm print. A massive crater stretched deep into the earth as though a giant hand had crushed everything beneath it.

The surrounding nobles stood silently at the edge of the crater while staring down with sharp expressions. Even many Saint Realm experts unconsciously swallowed as they looked into the seemingly bottomless pit.

One of the nobles finally broke the silence.

"Is it over?"

Another narrowed his eyes as he continued staring into the darkness below.

"It should be."

"No Saint Realm expert could survive a direct attack like that."

A middle-aged commander slowly shook his head.

"But he isn't an ordinary Saint Realm expert."

Another nodded in agreement.

"His body cultivation was frightening."

"He even fought while his mana was sealed."

The atmosphere became quiet once again. Everyone continued staring at the enormous crater without taking their eyes off it. One of the two Transcendent experts slowly turned his head toward the other. The other immediately understood what he meant. The two silently exchanged glances for a brief moment before one of them let out a quiet sigh.

"Okay."

"I'll go take a look."

The moment his words fell, his figure blurred.

WHOOSH!

He disappeared from everyone's sight and rushed straight into the crater. The nobles quietly waited while keeping their eyes fixed on the enormous pit. No one dared to speak carelessly as the silence became heavier with every passing second.
