The Arcadian army launched a full assault on the Allied Army, only to find them unexpectedly retreating in an orderly fashion. The Arcadian forces were confused by this tactic, suspecting a trap. As days passed, Ethan realized the Allied Army was using the advancing miasma behind Arcadia to herd them deeper into their territory. Crown Prince Haster ordered a halt to the advance and revealed that his father, the King, was also preparing something.

"What do you mean, Your Highness?" Ethan asked with a slight frown.

He had been quite worried about what might happen next. The four Empires would never come to the battlefield alone. They would surely bring their strongest troops and hidden forces with them. If that happened, the Arcadian army could easily be overwhelmed and crushed under their combined strength.

Haster looked at Ethan for a brief moment before calmly replying.

"My royal father is already making preparations to deal with the four Emperors."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"In fact, he has been planning for this for a long time."

Those simple words made Ethan's heart become slightly heavier.

He had expected the Emperor to have some preparations, but hearing Haster say it so confidently still surprised him. It seemed the Imperial Family had already anticipated that the war would eventually reach this stage.

Haster noticed the concern on Ethan's face and gently patted his shoulder.

"Fear not, Ethan."

His voice remained calm and steady.

"We might not win this war but we surely will not lose it."

A faint smile slowly appeared on his face.

"Arcadia has never lacked the courage to fight until the very end."

"We may bleed."

"We may suffer."

"But we will not fall so easily."

Ethan quietly nodded.

Although he still had many doubts inside his heart, hearing those words somehow eased part of the pressure weighing on his mind.

The two continued talking for a while about the current battlefield, the movements of the Allied Army, and the spread of the miasma. After discussing a few more matters, Haster finally nodded toward Ethan before quietly turning around and leaving.

Watching the Crown Prince disappear into the distance, Ethan finally let out a long breath of relief.

"Haaa..."

"Talking with him is always stressful."

He rubbed the back of his neck before slowly returning toward his own tent.

The camp had already become quiet. Most soldiers had gone to sleep after the exhausting march while only patrol teams and guards continued moving around with torches in their hands. The distant crackling of campfires and the occasional footsteps of patrolling knights were the only sounds breaking the silence of the night.

After entering his tent, Ethan sat down cross-legged and slowly closed his eyes.

He resumed his cultivation.

The treasures he had received from the system were simply too valuable. However, he remained extremely careful while absorbing them. He deliberately controlled the speed of his cultivation and only absorbed a small portion every day because he did not want to create another terrifying phenomenon that would attract everyone's attention.

He still needed to hide his true strength.

The battles ahead would only become more dangerous, and revealing every trump card now would be nothing but foolish.

Gentle streams of energy slowly entered his body while his cultivation steadily advanced. His breathing gradually became calm as his mind completely entered meditation.

Time quietly passed.

Just as Ethan was deeply immersed in cultivation, a respectful voice suddenly echoed from outside the tent.

"My Lord."

Ethan slowly opened his eyes with a hint of annoyance.

Why is it so hard to sit and cultivate?

His meditation came to an immediate stop.

"What is it?" he asked.

The guard outside quickly replied.

"My Lord, Duke Osantra has sent a message."

"He wishes to meet you."

Several question marks almost appeared over Ethan's head.

'What happened now?'

'Why does he want to meet me in the middle of the night?'

No matter how much he thought about it, he could not come up with an answer.

After remaining silent for a brief moment, Ethan slowly stood up and adjusted his clothes.

"Tell the Duke..."

"I will be there in a few moments."

"Yes, My Lord."

The footsteps outside gradually faded away.

Ethan stretched his body before letting out another helpless sigh.

"Haaa..."

"I hope there isn't another problem."

Ethan followed the guard through the quiet camp until they reached a lonely area at the far corner of the encampment. The sounds of the soldiers had long faded behind them, and only the cold night breeze continued blowing across the open land. Torches burned quietly in the distance while the moon hung high above, casting a pale silver light over the battlefield that had witnessed countless deaths.

Standing near the edge of a small ridge was Duke Osantra.

His hands rested behind his back while his eyes remained fixed upon the night sky. He stood there silently without moving, as though he had been waiting for quite some time.

Ethan walked forward before stopping a few steps behind him.

"You called me, Your Highness?"

Duke Osantra remained silent for a brief moment. He slowly glanced at Ethan before lifting his eyes toward the moon once again.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?"

Ethan frowned slightly. He raised his head and looked toward the bright moon shining peacefully in the night sky.

Before he could answer, Duke Osantra spoke again.

"I am not talking about the moon alone."

"I am talking about the entire sight."

Ethan quietly lowered his gaze.

Only then did he truly look at the land stretching beneath the ridge.

A long trail of dried blood covered the battlefield. Broken weapons were scattered everywhere, and countless corpses still lay where they had fallen. Even from such a distance, the destruction left behind by the war could still be clearly seen. The earth itself seemed scarred beyond repair.

Ethan quietly looked ahead for several moments before answering.

"It's bloody."

Duke Osantra slowly nodded.

"Yeah."

"It's bloody."

He let out a quiet breath before continuing.

"But even in such a bloody world, the moon still rises untouched by all of it."

His calm voice drifted through the night.

"It quietly shines upon everyone without choosing sides."

Ethan felt that the Duke was trying to hint at something, although he could not fully understand what he meant.

After thinking for a moment, he nodded.

"Yes."

"That is the beauty of it."
