Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill Chapter 652:Another Trouble

BOOOOM!
The fierce battle continued without pause while the Saints from the Xylos side were gradually pushed into a hopeless situation and beaten back again and again under the relentless assault from Arcadia.
Duke Osantra personally cut down one Saint after an intense exchange of blows while the knight clad in golden armor stepped forward and slew another with overwhelming strength. The remaining Saints witnessed the deaths of their comrades and immediately abandoned any thought of continuing the fight. Without another word, they turned around and fled in different directions while trying to preserve their lives.
The main reason behind their retreat was simple. Every one of them had been waiting for the Transcendent Knight to make a move and turn the situation around, but for some godforsaken reason nobody knew where the hell that person had disappeared. They kept delaying their retreat while believing reinforcements would arrive at any moment. If they had known that their own Transcendent Knight had already been eliminated so easily, they would never have stayed this long on the battlefield.
Unlike the others who were fighting far away from the center, Ethan had remained close to the camp and his heightened sensitivity to mana because of his background as a mage allowed him to notice something that nobody else seemed to detect.
For only a brief instant, he sensed the faint presence of the Transcendent Knight lingering somewhere in the distance. However, the next moment another aura suddenly emerged. It was far more terrifying. Far more dreadful. The mere presence of that power made Ethan's heart freeze as if some invisible creature had crawled into the deepest part of his soul.
The horrifying sensation almost caused him to lose control while throwing another bolt of lightning and he nearly ended up striking himself instead. Fortunately, the dreadful aura lasted for only a single moment before disappearing completely. Right after that, the Transcendent Knight's presence vanished from existence altogether while the aura belonging to Crown Prince Haster remained perfectly stable as if nothing unusual had happened.
'Damnnnn!'
'I knew it.'
'That guy is a monster hiding in sheep's clothing.'
Ethan silently stared toward the distant command position while countless thoughts raced through his mind. The Crown Prince always displayed the strength of a peak Divine Realm expert, but there was no way Ethan could believe that anymore. Haster was at least a Saint. Perhaps even stronger than that. Yet what had happened just now filled Ethan with raw terror.
Could he actually be a Transcendent?
The mere thought made Ethan's scalp tingle.
Someone only around one hundred and fifty years old reaching that realm was completely absurd. Ethan himself possessed the System, so his own rapid growth at least had an explanation. Other people did not have such advantages.
Just how terrifying did someone's talent have to be to reach such a stage?
The realization genuinely frightened him.
The things hidden beneath the surface of this Empire ran far deeper than he had imagined and the web of politics had become so tightly intertwined that disturbing even one thread could awaken an entire nest of hornets.
After successfully completing his duty, Ethan no longer had the strength to keep standing and simply collapsed onto the ground while still thinking about everything.
Duke Osantra and the others were immediately startled.
In fact, who would not be?
Only moments ago he had been throwing lightning one after another as if the God of Lightning himself had descended upon the battlefield, yet now he had suddenly fallen over without warning.
"Ethan, what happened?"
Ethan slowly sat up while stretching his exhausted body. His face had become as pale as a sheet of paper and sweat completely soaked his clothes.
"I am a bit tired."
"The previous move took too much out of me, so I needed some rest."
Duke Osantra immediately let out a relieved breath.
"Thank God."
"It's just mana exhaustion."
"I thought you used some secret art to burn your lifespan and gather that kind of power."
Hearing those words, Ethan simply remained silent.
Since everyone had already reached that conclusion on their own, there was no reason for him to explain anything.
Let the misunderstanding spread.
---
Arcadia had successfully torn apart the army blocking its path with overwhelming force. In the end, one of the Saints from Arcadia personally stepped forward and completely annihilated the remaining enemy camp, making sure not a single survivor remained alive.
Meanwhile, Ethan quietly sat outside his own camp while holding a warm cup of coffee in both hands and looking toward the horizon.
Far away in the distance...
A gigantic mushroom-shaped cloud slowly rose into the night sky.
The horrifying explosion that created it sent catastrophic shockwaves rippling across the land.
The sight instantly shattered Ethan's mood.
His hand froze halfway before reaching his mouth.
Moments later, enormous waves of smoke and dust billowed upward while aftershocks continued spreading across the battlefield and made the earth tremble beneath everyone's feet.
A Saint attacking ordinary troops was no different from a human stepping on ants.
Killing one or two ants was never difficult.
But crushing countless ants at once would always leave behind an unpleasant feeling.
The more Ethan participated in this war, the more meaningless it began to seem.
'Why can't humans just know their place and stay put?'
'But no.'
'They always have to fucking run around looking for new sensations.'
'These fucking dumb fuck Emperors.'
Deep inside, Ethan knew there was little point in cursing.
Even in the world he came from, where monarchies had long been replaced by democracies, wars still continued.
As long as humans existed...
There would always be greed.
There would always be ego.
And unchecked ego would always lead to bloodshed unless something could erase those dark emotions forever.
Randall quietly looked at Ethan's troubled expression before speaking in a low voice.
"My Lord."
"Grieving here won't solve anything."
"You should toughen your heart."
"Things might become even worse from here onward."
Ethan slowly turned his head and stared at Randall for several moments, making the latter feel slightly uncomfortable.
In the end, Ethan said nothing.
He was mentally exhausted.
Far too exhausted to argue.
At that exact moment, a loud voice suddenly echoed throughout the camp.
"Marquise Ethan!"
"You are ordered to assemble at the Central Camp immediately!"
Ethan looked down at the coffee cup in his hand.
CRACK!
The porcelain shattered beneath the pressure of his fingers.Fragments scattered across the ground.
He closed his eyes for a brief second before letting out a long breath.
"Fuckkk!"
"Not another trouble."
