Overbearing Immortal Doctor Chapter 1314 - 1413: Defeated
Previously on Overbearing Immortal Doctor...
As Ling Axiu passed by, the five disciples from the Xifu Sect lay defeated.
Just as Qin Feng was about to depart, a shadowy figure emerged with a chilling smile.
"You are significantly weaker now. Today, I shall sever all your limbs!"
With a mighty roar, Xie Xuan clenched his left hand, channeling his full strength to deliver a powerful blow towards Qin Feng’s head.
An intense force impacted Qin Feng’s face from above, causing a sharp pain. He looked up, clearly perceiving the ferocious intent burning within Xie Xuan’s eyes.
"Damn it!"
Cursing inwardly, Qin Feng took a deep breath and clenched his right fist. His body, momentarily hindered by the potent medicinal effects, now felt the Qi surging wildly through his meridians like a raging torrent.
A battle-frenzied consciousness erupted within Qin Feng’s mind as he felt the spiritual power coursing through him. He glanced at Xie Xuan, who had closed the distance. The spiritual power gathered in his fist.
"Begone!"
He roared internally, and his entire body’s power surged to its peak in an instant. Qin Feng’s fist moved with a sudden contraction, then exploded outwards!
"Bang!"
The two fists met with a dull thud in the confined cave, the sound echoing through the passage.
Although Qin Feng’s power was diminished by the lingering medicinal effects, Xie Xuan’s strength was also considerably weakened as he fought with only one functioning arm. The clash was thus evenly matched, forcing both combatants back three steps!
"What are you waiting for? Kill him quickly! Kill him!" Xie Xuan’s voice was a furious bellow. He was acutely aware of Qin Feng’s terrifying potential; allowing him to escape alive would pose a grave threat to his own safety.
Visions of inevitable future retribution haunted Xie Xuan, filling his heart with murderous intent.
"Fool, did you truly believe I feared you?" Qin Feng retorted upon hearing Xie Xuan’s desperate cries. He immediately turned, igniting his longsword with Divine Power, and charged forward.
The swordplay was fluid and swift, yet possessed a deceptive slowness, imbued with a profound and mysterious swordsmanship.
Faced with Qin Feng’s renewed assault, Xie Xuan reacted without hesitation, channeling the spiritual power within to defend himself. However, at the very moment their powers clashed, Xie Xuan’s face suddenly flushed, and he felt the impact.
As Qin Feng moved away, over a dozen disciples from the Xifu Sect arrived, eager to curry favor. Yet, the fear lingering in their hearts remained palpable.
Was his strength waning? That brat seemed off, but even so, the sect leader of the True Essence Third Layer had been defeated by him in mere moments. Some of the disciples, feeling weaker, dared not pursue immediately.
"Idiots, why are you hesitating? You must kill that brat!" Xie Xuan spat blood again, his roar laced with pure rage as he looked upon the hesitant disciples.
"Yes!" Hearing Xie Xuan’s furious command, the disciples of the West Buddha Sect could only comply. They responded hastily, their figures blurring as they launched themselves in fierce pursuit of Qin Feng.
Leaning against the stone wall, Qin Feng took a deep breath, a fierce light glinting in his eyes. He slammed his fist into the rock face, growling, "Little brat, don't let me catch you, or you'll wish you were dead!"
Meanwhile, Qin Feng reached the cave entrance, where Lan Yueliang was slowly approaching, arriving at the opening just as he did.
Both observed the thick vines dangling from the cave walls, their brows furrowed in concern.
"My strength is fading rapidly. I doubt I can make the climb to the cliff top with you. Can you manage it?" Qin Feng asked, looking at Lan Yueliang.
However, she responded with a bitter smile and a shake of her head. "I haven’t practiced those three sacred poisons, nor do I possess much spiritual power. Even if you could climb, it would be agonizingly slow. Those pursuing us will undoubtedly catch up. Furthermore, if Xie Xuan left someone at the summit, they could sever our vines at any moment, sealing our doom at the cliff's base."
"Only by ascending the cliff can we reach the forest and escape! Otherwise, there is no other path! I cannot hold on for much longer!" Qin Feng stated gravely.
Bei Chi bit down lightly. Lan Yue appeared to make a decision, then suddenly removed her white outer robe.
"Put this on!"
"Huh?" Qin Feng looked at her in bewilderment.
"This garment is no ordinary item; it is one of the three sacred treasures of our teaching. Though it appears soft, when unfurled, it resembles bird wings and can be used for gliding. If you glide to the base of the cliff, you should survive the fall!"
"Survive the fall?" Qin Feng’s face developed a dark line, but seeing the rapidly approaching figures behind them, he realized he had no other choice.
"What about you?"
"If you end up trapped, while Xie Xuan might not kill me, he'll certainly go after you, won't he?" Lan Yueliang offered a gentle smile. "In an hour, the effects of this potent medicine will wear off. I'll be waiting for your rescue."
"I'm not aiming to be a hero, but if Xie Xuan dares to lay a hand on you, I'll surely assist you."
Recalling the methods of Poison Moon, Xie Xuan didn't even dare to touch her lightly. Qin Feng breathed a sigh of relief, immediately discarding the notion of using a spell and, without a second thought, plunged downwards.
After all, there were only two spells in existence, and their refinement was no simple feat. It was unnecessary to employ them unless facing extreme danger.
However, as the strong wind rushed past his ears, Qin Feng realized a dire predicament—he possessed no gliding ability whatsoever. Cliff jumping was a skill he'd never acquired, and this was a terrifying precipice. Was this truly a hunt?
Qin Feng frantically attempted to tear his clothes, hoping to fashion them into wings, but he continued to slide into the vast, unending abyss.
Mustering all his remaining strength to stay conscious, just before succumbing, he managed to employ increasingly adept gliding techniques, guiding himself to crash onto an enormous, ancient tree.
With the sound of splintering branches, a figure descended from the ancient tree, finally coming to rest on a thick bough some seven or eight meters above the ground.
He had survived the fall. Qin Feng endured the impact and promptly fainted, all awareness vanishing.
After an indeterminate period, Qin Feng's heavy eyelids fluttered open. He felt no pain throughout his body, sensing as if his very being had been scattered upon the earth.
Evidently, this young man's inaugural glide had been a spectacular failure, with the jump costing him nearly half his vitality. Fortunately, his physical resilience was considerable; the injuries were superficial, with no internal damage or fractures. Thus, after merely half an hour of recovery, he felt significantly improved.
Descending from the ancient tree, Qin Feng surveyed his surroundings. He was in a more remote section of Danghong Mountain, a place where encountering formidable beasts was a constant possibility. Leaving swiftly was the prudent course of action.
"It's a pity I've been afflicted by poison twice consecutively; I can't fly now," Qin Feng lamented, shaking his head with a somber expression.
He resolved to locate a secure haven to gradually purge the toxins from his system. Only by regaining his ability to fly could he ensure his safety within Canghong Mountain.
"Lan Yueliang's objective has been met, but what about the fatty and Tiantian?" Qin Feng scanned the area, a sense of resignation settling in his heart.
Perhaps it was time to let certain matters go.
"A devil?" I do not possess such a thing! I am losing my mind! Ah!" The burly man erupted into mad laughter, his guffaws echoing with profound resentment and hatred.
"The people of the Holy Land are mere watchdogs, utterly immobile. What kind of Master of the Holy Land are they?"
A scholar clad in white trembled at the words, a flicker of sorrow crossing his eyes. He sighed, "That is solely because you and I were too avaricious. Unwittingly, we fell into this snare. However, if the day arrives when we can cultivate here and reclaim our freedom, we shall achieve a breakthrough!"
"Reclaim freedom? But even you and our Holy Land Master were subjected to slaughter by others. Who possesses the ability to break the seal here and grant us release?" the big man with bloodshot eyes growled lowly. "My fate is tragic; who wouldn't desire a better one!" Whoever dares to claim the inheritance here, I shall eliminate them. If I cannot obtain it, then no one else shall. Hahaha."
