Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights Chapter 402 Rage & Madness
Previously on Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights...
This was the domain of Saul's first summon. His most dangerous skill, Space Dome. The Spatial Battle Spartan's innate skill, which allowed the summon to move from one place to another, had, after adaptation, enabled it to traverse dimensions by opening portals, initially intended for inter-world travel.
Saul observed Ronald, adrift in a frozen, lifeless state. His cold gaze conveyed utter indifference. "Bring her," he commanded.
At his word, his summon tore open another portal, dragging Valentina back into the Space Dome and depositing her near her deceased husband.
Valentina gazed at Ronald, who, despite moving towards her, seemed to drift ever further away. As her body convulsed in response to the alien environment, a spectral phantom, seemingly composed of water, materialized and began to circle Ronald.
A mass of luminous water enveloped him. It was the sole beacon of light in this desolate expanse, where distant stars offered only a faint illumination.
'He's dead. Do not worry, I made it painless. Yours will be as well.' His voice was the last thing Valentina perceived before her body succumbed. Her hands stretched out towards Ronald, a desperate hope of reaching him, even in death.
Saul's expression hardened. This… this still did not assuage his rage, nor did it atone for the decades of painstaking effort that their son had stolen from him.
Those summons were his.
At that precise moment, golden threads began to snake through Ronald's body. His fingers twitched, and his eyes snapped open.
Instantly, he teleported himself and Valentina away. They reappeared in their sitting room, and he gently settled her onto the sofa.
Fortunately, Valentina's self-healing capabilities activated the moment she was removed from an environment so hostile to human life.
His gaze shifted to a golden coin resting on a nearby table. 'Come,' he beckoned inwardly, and the coin flashed. Godfrey materialized beside the table.
What greeted him was his father, knelt on the floor, while his mother lay on the bed, her skin deathly pale. A layer of frost coated Ronald's skin.
Godfrey's previously light expression turned menacing as his eyes blazed with intensity.
Ronald uttered a single word. "Saul."
A portal tore open at that instant. Swirling mist revealed a snow-capped mountain range beyond. "You called," Saul's voice boomed through the opening.
Godfrey summoned Tempest and Toria. "Watch her," he commanded in a frigid tone, before plunging through the portal.
Ronald rose to his feet, cast one final glance at his wife, and followed them through the portal.
Both Godfrey and his father found themselves in a mountainous region, directly within a raging blizzard. Everything around them was pure white.
With a mere thought, Godfrey froze the blizzard surrounding them using telekinesis, finally allowing him to see Saul clearly.
Saul was seated upon a rock, clutching a black rod. It appeared unremarkable, yet it was a weapon that even gods would approach with extreme caution. A direct strike meant complete erasure of one's existence. No afterlife, no second chances, no miraculous revival through any skill.
Ronald summoned his bear. It unleashed an earth-shattering roar, which only elicited a chuckle from Saul.
"Roar all you wish. I shall leave your soulless husk here for the birds. A beautiful graveyard, don't you thi—!"
Ronald activated Eclipsal State and surged towards Saul. His claws gleamed as they lunged for Saul's face. There was no room for tolerance, absolutely none, to listen to whatever this man might say.
The reason? He already considered him a dead man, and the dead do not speak.
The Spatial Spartan deflected Ronald's claws with his round shield. It had been present all along, concealed within spatial fluctuations, creating the illusion of its absence.
Ronald surmised that the other skill Saul employed consumed excessive mana, a risk he couldn't afford now that it was no longer a secret.
Regardless, Saul knew it would be ineffective against Godfrey. The instant that name entered his thoughts, his gaze darted in search of him, but Godfrey was no longer present.
As he felt fingers clamp around his neck from behind, his eyes narrowed, but it was far too late as Godfrey hurled him directly into a rock formation towering over thirty feet high.
Saul tore through the rock and somersaulted across the snow-covered ground several times before flipping back to his feet, yet he continued to slide backward.
A low growl drew his attention upward. Ronald burst forth from the blizzard. Saul conjured a shield and intercepted the incoming blow.
With a roar, Ronald slammed his feet into the shield, propelling Saul away. "Don't you… ever!"
His voice pierced the blizzard as snow billowed upwards from the sheer velocity of his charge.
"Touch her!" Ronald bellowed as his bear took his place. It conjured a massive tire, studded with golden spikes, erupting from the snow, pursuing Saul with incredible speed.
Saul advanced toward the colossal beast, his shield held firmly before him. A silver radiance emanated from his form as armor materialized, encasing his body. However, just as he was poised to engage the massive bear, Godfrey materialized unexpectedly.
Will Freeze.
Saul's gaze shifted upwards, catching the luminous gleam of Godfrey's golden irises. Clad in the Immortal Armour, Godfrey's crimson silhouette presented a stark contrast against the white expanse.
A powerful fist connected squarely with Saul's face, violently diverting him from the bear's intended trajectory. Saul dug his feet into the ground, tearing open a spatial rift. Instead of being propelled airborne, he was drawn downwards into the earth as he retreated.
With a deep exhalation, he summoned his Spatial Spartan. He noted with disbelief that Godfrey and his father seemed to be completely disregarding his summon entirely!
This time, they would face the challenge together. There was no possibility his summon would be overlooked.
Both combatants surged forward. Ronald intercepted Saul's summon, while Godfrey, observing Saul thrust the Soul Piercing Rod, vanished from sight.
Something else emerged from the swirling fog: a magnificent golden dragon. The instant it clamped its jaws onto the rod, the snow underfoot and the surrounding blizzard instantly dissolved into vapor.
Saul's eyes widened in astonishment as the dragon unleashed a torrent of sunfire.
He raised his shield, yet was violently hurled back several hundred meters. Everything in his path disintegrated, consumed by flames. Even his shield began to melt, and painful scorch marks now adorned his body.
Saul's gaze fell upon his Soul Piercing Rod. Merely half of its length remained; the other half had liquefied.
The remaining portion of the rod emitted a faint, soft glow. Its power was rapidly diminishing.
A resounding impact echoed as Godfrey met Saul with a swift Spartan kick. The rod was dislodged from his grasp. His final relic was lost.
Fueled by a rage that teetered on the edge of madness, Saul charged at Godfrey, unleashing a devastating blow intended to kill, his resolve more potent than ever before.
