As a devastating meteor shower rained down, Godfrey protected himself and Dax within a golden dome. Dax, contemplating activating a spell that would kill them both, was instead offered a chance by Godfrey to escape his world's mana system and join Godfrey's castle as a knight. Dax accepted, and as he began to fade, Godfrey sensed his castle was building a new chamber.

Godfrey's consciousness returned, and he witnessed a new structure being erected. Bricks materialized out of thin air, assembling themselves into a path leading to a burgeoning tower. Enormous blocks floated into place, seamlessly integrating into the construction. Golden veins pulsed beneath the edifice, rapidly being concealed as they anchored Godfrey's soul to Dax.

He closed his eyes, finding himself back in the Alchemist's assembly chamber. While many were absent, the Chief Alchemist remained.

"We witnessed it," the Chief Alchemist stated, preempting Godfrey's words.

"Will the False Heart transform him?" Godfrey inquired.

"Indeed, it will. What you procured is a summoning tethered to one of Generation Zero's most formidable offensive relics. This relic will grow in potency as he does. You've truly impressed me with this new capability, my king," the Chief Alchemist replied, offering a slight bow.

"It was not achieved without difficulty."

"That is understandable. However, this knight will pose no issue. We simply require the heart implant once preparations are complete, followed by the crafting of his armor," the Chief Alchemist informed him.

"This knight is a valuable asset and will prove crucial when the Ruination descends. Once the Titan Midgets catch wind of this, I imagine they'll be eager to forge another suit of armor."

Godfrey leaned forward, intrigued. "You speak of the Blacksmiths? Where are they located?"

The Chief Alchemist extended his hand, conjuring an image above the grand table. It depicted a realm saturated with heat, inhabited by thousands of diminutive, white-haired Pathans – a distinct race known as the Midgets – each engrossed in their work at individual forges.

The scene resembled a volcano transformed into a colossal workshop.

Advanced technology was evident, with runic machinery functioning like escalators to higher levels and conveyor belts transporting finished armor pieces for inspection.

"These are our blacksmiths, the Titan Midgets. We also refer to them as the Giants of Pathan. The armor for every Golden Knight is meticulously handcrafted and imbued with runes, a fundamental aspect of our mana system. These are the arcane words bestowed upon us and our beasts when our minds were awakened by the mana tree's dew."

As the Chief Alchemist elaborated, Godfrey observed these diminutive smiths toiling, unaware of their audience.

They effortlessly maneuvered immense objects as if they were weightless, a stark contrast to their diminutive stature. The juxtaposition of 'Titan' and 'Midget' created a paradoxical but fitting descriptor for this unique race.

The cacophony of hammers striking metal, the hiss of hot steel plunged into cool water, and the vibrant orange glow from the forges filled the atmosphere, captivating Godfrey's senses.

This was an entire civilization thriving within the castle walls, the unseen force behind the Golden Knights' prowess. They were the invisible figures relied upon by these noble warriors for the creation of formidable armor, capable of vanquishing any adversary.

"We have gathered all of Pathan's greatest talents to establish this order. All races have been integrated, save for the Goliaths who remained uncooperative. These diminutive artisans are the bedrock of Pathan civilization, the originators of our unified language and advanced construction techniques. They are the architects of the Golden Order Castle..."

The Chief Alchemist dissolved the image. "...a castle that once housed and trained two million knights."

"Then the castle I glimpsed in Paradise..."

"Was not the primary Golden Order Castle, but a secondary one erected after the order's decline, when the city renowned for its warriors had sunk, and our numbers had dwindled to a critical low. A time when... the Ruination had ravaged us both externally and internally," the Chief Alchemist explained.

"Once I have navigated these trials and survived the Ruination, I wish to behold a true golden castle, or whatever remnants remain," Godfrey declared.

"I believe the addition of this new knight significantly enhances your prospects of surviving the Ruination. However, we have detected an unusual surge in the mana tree's aggression this cycle. The sheer volume of power it is channeling indicates that its unleashing during the Ruination will be catastrophic."

Godfrey rose to his feet.

"Regardless of their monstrous nature, I perceive an opportunity. The Ruination will provide sufficient cores for all ten of you, enabling me to unseal my next knight. It represents the perfect chance."

Godfrey inclined his head to the Chief Alchemist before dematerializing and reappearing in his throne room.

He stood at the hall's center, gazing at the empty throne. Despite its lack of occupants, an intangible presence conveyed that something resided there, observing him.

Perhaps defeating the Unknown King's influence had bestowed upon him more than just the third core. A fragment of that entity now accompanied him.

It remained imperceptible, unfelt. Previously, he was unaware, but now, as he fixated on the vacant crown, he sensed an lingering essence upon it.

A piece of himself.

Godfrey remained unaware that Snow had witnessed something similar, his soul possibly transformed from its previous state.

"My objective is within closer reach," Godfrey declared before vanishing. His eyes snapped open in the corporeal world, and with an instantaneous flash of violet light, he was gone.

Not long after Godfrey's departure, Saul made his arrival. His gaze swept across the desolate landscape, a barren expanse dotted with numerous craters stretching to the horizon. The ground was a blackened wasteland, an undeniable testament to the ferocity of the battle that had ravaged it, leaving it utterly devastated. This land would require the intervention of another demigod or the slow healing touch of many decades, perhaps even centuries, to recover.

Suddenly, the very fabric of space fractured. Saul's attention snapped towards the anomaly as Gabriel emerged from the rupture. The two individuals locked eyes, one suspended in the air while the other stood firmly on the scorched earth.

"You made a grave error by dispatching Dax. Now, he is deceased," Gabriel stated.

Saul remained immobile, his silence profound. The immensity of his rage prevented any outward expression, yet his eyes burned with darkness, his mere presence conjuring a localized cyclone.

As he turned to depart, Gabriel's voice echoed, "I will not permit you to attack him on his home ground."

"Reprisal is inevitable. I have not merely lost a summon; the loss extends far beyond that. I've lost something I could ill afford to lose," Saul's voice was a low, chilling calm.

"What you instigated has blighted this place and will undoubtedly impact the city. I can hold you responsible for this reckless act," Gabriel retorted.

Saul shot him a searing glare. "I dare you to try." His eyes ignited with a predatory gleam.

Gabriel crossed his arms, his expression resolute. "Do not provoke me, Saul. While I respect your power, you must wait for him at the tournament."

"I am growing weary of this," Saul muttered, maintaining his intense gaze for a moment longer before averting his eyes and walking away.

'You are in for a considerable surprise,' Gabriel mused, a faint smile gracing his lips as his eyes shimmered. 'A truly shocking one. That castle is, without a doubt, magnificent.'
