Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights Chapter 373 Trident Of The Deep
Previously on Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights...
Numerous sharks and other formidable predators once fought under his command, decimating the orcs, yet now they all surged towards him.
'King, spare them! They are being controlled,' Percival communicated. King then spread his arms, pushing the water away and carving out a colossal void, hundreds of meters in radius. This vast expanse was empty of water, stretching from the surface all the way to the ocean floor!
Everything plummeted down – Conquest, the sea beasts, and the remains of countless orcs. Only the leviathan remained suspended in mid-air.
With a ferocious roar, Conquest whirled, his muscles bunching, veins bulging as he hurled the trident. The resulting shockwave sounded like a colossal explosion as the trident hurtled towards Levi.
It became a streak of motion. Levi was immense; missing such a colossal target would be difficult.
However, Percival recalled his leviathan and plunged downwards, his eyes widening as the trident narrowly missed him.
Conquest manipulated the surrounding water and propelled himself skyward to confront Percival. The trident materialized from the water at the final moment, and he swung it directly at Percival.
Mere inches from his face, Percival vanished. A significantly smaller leviathan, no longer than twenty feet, lunged out and severed the orc's forearm!
The trident dissolved into water, reforming in Conquest's free hand. With a thunderous roar, he swung it at Levi but was met with another potent surge of water expelled from the leviathan's maw.
Conquest staggered. Seizing the opportune moment, King released his hold, allowing the water to rush back into the void while he shot upwards with tremendous force.
A trident materialized in his grasp, and he drove it through the orc from behind. Conquest, caught off guard while preparing for Levi's second watery assault, realized too late what was approaching as a trident impaled him through the chest.
Conquest's eyes widened in disbelief. He had lost... how?
He wielded the weapon of an ancient god!
'I once fell, and I rose again, but you will not,' Percival declared, descending towards him. He manipulated the water, drawing the trident towards him as Conquest was overwhelmed by a multitude of sea creatures.
The orc let out a defiant roar, but the instant he conceded defeat in his heart, he lost control of the trident, leaving him utterly defenseless at the ocean's depths.
His roars offered no protection as he was torn to shreds in an instant. King, ensuring the retrieval of his core before any monster could claim it, intervened.
Percival, meanwhile, examined the trident. Intricate drawings adorned it: a megalodon, a stingray, and various other marine beasts. Some were diminutive, others were colossal, and some depicted creatures he had never even encountered before.
It was plausible that the trident contained the essence of every sea creature slain by its past wielders, imbuing it with the ability to shapeshift into those forms.
This meant the trident was a legacy, a repository of countless sea creatures.
Furthermore, the trident granted the wielder the ability to breathe underwater, provided he actively maintained it. It also granted supreme mastery over water manipulation, capable of drawing water from virtually any source, including living beings!
Percival's eyes widened in astonishment. 'What's happening? How do I possess this knowledge?! It's as if the trident is communicating its capabilities to me... but extracting water from people?! I'd have to be utterly deranged to consider such a thing.'
'King,' Percival called out, tossing the trident to his summon.
King caught it with both hands, studying the artifact. Percival could sense the sheer awe radiating from his summon's mind, and he let out a chuckle.
Levi, now dramatically reduced in size to resemble a mere snake, coiled around Percival's neck, fixing him with a glare.
'You can't wield a trident, bud.'
Levi let out a roar, though it sounded rather adorable given his diminished stature. Perhaps that sound was one of pain.
Levi released him and swam away, clearly heartbroken.
'Levi! Come on, we'll get your favorites. Sardines!' Percival proclaimed loudly, but the leviathan didn't even glance back.
'King, keep an eye on him.'
King nodded and followed the retreating leviathan. Shaking his head, King tossed the trident away once they had established a considerable distance.
'Here, you can have it.'
The leviathan wrapped itself around the trident and gave a nod. In the subsequent moment, the trident emitted a ripple, and a vast number of octopuses converged towards them.
King's eyes widened as Levi rapidly grew in size and pursued his meal. This was far more efficient than hunting these elusive octopuses merely to sate his hunger, which, for that day, did not involve sardines.
Meanwhile, Percival turned towards the surface, his gaze fixed on the scattered sunlight filtering down, appearing utterly mesmerizing from his underwater vantage point.
He was deep in thought. The water spirit had made the ultimate sacrifice for him and bestowed upon him a clear objective, which he had successfully achieved. Beyond that, it had granted him immense power, effectively transforming him into the very mana system of this world!
As he matured, so too did the world around him.
The power granted him near-invincibility. He felt as though he could lift an island from the sea without breaking a sweat, yet the issue was that despite possessing all this might, he was not the boundless water spirit.
He remained a summoner, tethered to the Earth's mana system, which meant his mana reserves struggled to keep pace. The water spirit had endowed him with a colossal amount of mana, but a significant portion had already been expended. On the bright side, he could now transport foes into this aquatic realm, engaging them on his home turf, and he possessed the capacity for continuous growth.
His gaze fell upon Conquest's core. As long as the core existed, his summons would experience perpetual enhancement, for mana systems had no inherent limit. However, a temporal constraint was in effect. In a few years, a new water spirit would emerge, and he would forfeit all these advantages.
Access to the water world and limitless potential.
Therefore, his current acquisitions were impermanent.
Nevertheless, even with this knowledge, Percival remained unperturbed. The power was not truly his own. Yet, if there was one profound truth he gleaned from this intense battle and the water spirit's ultimate sacrifice, it was that while serenity was desirable, conflict was an essential prerequisite for its preservation.
He let out a sigh. 'I must bring this situation to a close. I have been absent from paradise for far too long. I wasn't even present to offer solace to Godfrey; what a terrible friend I've been.'
With those thoughts, he slowly ascended towards the surface, his countenance serene, while countless marine creatures teemed in the unfathomable depths below.

'A credit of two hundred and fifty million.' A young man with golden hair stared at his phone, a look of sheer disbelief washing over him. He had anticipated receiving such a sum for conquering this purple-gate dungeon, but witnessing the actual deposit in his account caused him to pause momentarily.
