Godfrey summoned the Immortal Armour to decapitate the executioners and Judge atop Miquella's illusory wall, then shattered the illusion to confront her directly. He slew Miquella multiple times as her summon regenerated, ultimately incinerating her with purple flames at the cost of a core. After healing the orphanage survivors with Grief Transfer and burying Sarah, Godfrey resolved to rally the noble knights for dungeon raids to prepare against the Ruination.

A stunning red-haired lady dressed in relaxed clothes lounged behind a grand desk, her legs crossed elegantly, elbow resting on the surface while her fist propped up her head.

Isolde gazed sideways. Sunlight flooded the vast office that her father had once commanded.

The glow poured in from the enormous window positioned directly behind her workspace. Though her gaze fixed on a paper, her thoughts wandered far from its words.

Memories of last night's vision resurfaced. It marked the second night since Godfrey's departure, where shadows twisted with eerie awareness.

Darkness devoured a whole city, engulfing every soul within.

A sobbing child's face appeared before her eyes. She reached to rescue him, yet the void claimed the boy, and just as it lunged for her, she jolted awake.

'Could that be the Ruination?' Isolde's eyes sparkled sharply.

She felt sure it depicted the future, though its vagueness left full details elusive. Such a glimpse of the Ruination suggested the count of Progenitors and Titled gods on earth approached its limit.

This turned Godfrey into a prime mark. Rogue gods—likely nobodies until now—might crave the reward for his capture or death, or seek glory as heroes.

Godfrey stood as a worldwide icon, admired and reviled in equal measure, but propaganda painted him mostly villainous. Strangers would view him solely as a killer and Fanatic with a huge bounty.

Worry gnawed at her despite her efforts to dismiss it; who could predict these foes' powers, or if they'd overwhelm him in numbers? Facing a band of Titled gods without her aid would prove grueling.

Yet across the globe's billions, Godfrey uniquely advanced sans mana fruit.

Fruits seemed handed out to close the gap, but truly, all relied on them since mana's arrival—save Godfrey, who mocked the norm.

A sly smile tugged at Isolde's lips.

'What a man,' she thought to herself.

A sudden knock echoed. Isolde eyed the door. "Come in."

The door swung open, and Isaac entered, taking a seat with a heavy sigh. A weight clearly pressed on his spirit.

"You're back sooner than expected. I figured you'd take time to clear your mind and boost your power by shrinking the gates. Barely a day and a half passed." Isolde cocked her head, pivoting to regard the youth across her desk.

Post-Snow's exit, each pursued their paths. Godfrey vanished two days prior, Lucy retreated to paradise, and Isaac hunted.

She shuttled between the dragon domain and this spot, ensuring duties didn't pile up.

Isaac clasped his hands, bent forward with elbows on knees, locking eyes with Isolde.

"How do people end up so varied? Ever ponder what shapes someone's mindset?" He reclined, sighing once more.

"Why won't they grasp logic? What's so tough to get? Frustration and bafflement mix inside me."

Isolde's gaze gentled as Isaac bowed his head.

"This ties to Neila?"

Isaac raised his gaze. "That obvious, huh?"

Isolde laughed lightly, setting aside her document. "You two lacked a childhood bond. Together barely two months, your start was bumpy, and she's a Titled god predating your existence."

She pressed her lips together.

"Seems your irritation stems from diving in too deep, too fast. Things aren't unfolding as you envisioned."

Isaac narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"

"You like her."

"She's a spider!" Isaac retorted sharply.

Isolde arched a brow. Her quiet stare lingered, testing his patience as moments dragged.

"What? Why that look?"

Isolde rolled her eyes. "You're part spider yourself. Forgot your summon links to your soul? So part of you is spider too."

Isolde spread her hands wide. "A huge spider." She stressed each syllable.

Isaac recoiled in rare self-loathing. "So Godfrey's part knight, Percival part sea king, and I'm part spider?"

Isolde rolled her eyes once more. "You've barely connected with your summon. You're wounding its pride."

Neila materialized behind Isaac, smacking his head. "Never seen your little spider so crushed. You're cruel."

Isaac glanced at Neila, then Isolde, then upward in exasperation. He'd just vented—seriously!

A gentle smile played on Isolde's lips. "If that isn’t enough for you, she’s tied to your soul. Both souls in the same soul space. That makes you guys one. Just like me and Godfrey."

Disbelief shone in Isaac's eyes as he stared at Isolde. Why speak those words with Neila right there?

Did Isolde harbor some grudge against him, or was this simply how women operated?

Neila settled down next to Isaac, crossed her legs, shot him a sidelong glance, and smirked.

Her crimson eyes sparkled. "Female spiders often devour the males after mating. Since you’re attracted to me, we can—!"

Isaac launched a web toward her mouth, but a spider leg gripping her shoulder struck out, slicing through the web.

"What a pathetic man. Where did you get yours?" She pivoted toward Isolde.

"Oh? I kinda just trained mine. He was quite lazy to exercise in the morning." Isolde responded lightly.

"You trained yours. I like that."

Isaac clenched the chair's armrest hard. What in blazes was unfolding here?

Would someone please clue him in on whatever madness was occurring?!

At that precise moment, the butler stepped into the office. Such relief flooded Isaac that he nearly slumped down.

"Lady Selyne. A guild master is here, he requests to meet with Master Godfrey." Rick's words seized everyone's attention.

"Which guild master?" Isolde got to her feet, a subtle chill lacing her voice.

A Titled god was already here.
