"No need."
What? Lu Qiaochun followed Yu Ji’s gaze to the second floor, observing Fang Yu holding a demon’s head while looking down at the ongoing commotion. The battle upstairs had concluded; the demons were utterly vanquished!
"The demons are eliminated; we should depart," Yu Ji stated, and everyone promptly followed suit. Yu Ji gave a shout, unleashing an attack to push the crowd back before leaping to land behind Fang Yu.
"Ji Caizu, your skills are adequate, yet still somewhat lacking," Lu Qiaochun declared, launching a Qi Blade that struck Ji Caizu’s leg. This forced her to retreat several steps, foreseeing that any kick would result in her leg being severed instantly. Lu Qiaochun then executed a deep leap, landing behind Fang Yu.
"Let’s move," Fang Yu commanded, discarding the demon’s head and turning to leave. The other two quickly followed him. "Where do you think you’re going?!" "You villains! What have you done to our Great Instructor?!" The enraged mob intended to give chase but was halted by the wary Ji Caizu. The ignorant are indeed fearless. Ji Caizu, having personally battled those two, recognized their exceptional power, possibly even surpassing her own! That mysterious figure on the second floor was even more astonishing.
From the moment the news broke until the battle concluded, very little time had passed, yet the demon had already been slain by that individual. Ji Caizu had initially assumed it might be a weak demon, but after the Old Hall Master personally examined it, he classified it as an extremely perilous super-demon. The assessment suggested that even two or three Great Instructors combined might struggle against such a foe. Yet, this formidable demon was swiftly dispatched by the enigmatic powerhouse on the second floor.
"From whence did... such a terrifying individual emerge?" Ji Caizu felt a surge of relief that she hadn’t engaged with the adversaries on the second floor, as she was certain she’d be no match for any of them.

This feels fantastic! It was an extraordinary commencement! The initial unidentified entity turned out to be a demon, and not just any demon, but a Great Demon possessing over forty thousand health! Within the Blood Mist, Fang Yu briefly utilized Local Boneification, enhancing his damage output and expediting the demon’s demise. Furthermore, by crushing the demon’s head while in human form, its bloodline was directly suppressed, leading to a swift conclusion of the conflict. Possibly due to its prolonged disguise within human skin, the demon appeared unaccustomed to its own combat methods, visibly readjusting to its physique. Regrettably, its warm-up phase wasn't even complete before it was slain, akin to a boss entering its second phase while striking a pose, only to have its health bar depleted.
"You two, excellent work," Fang Yu stated generously, feeling buoyant. However, his words caused Lu Qiaochun and Yu Ji to appear slightly abashed. Earlier, he had expressed disappointment in them, and now he was commending their efforts. Strictly speaking, their earlier contributions were minimal. After cautiously gauging Fang Yu’s reaction, they confirmed his words were not laced with sarcasm and exchanged glances.
Fortunately, the new leader had a short memory; he didn't hold their prior performance against them, otherwise, their actions at the teahouse would have been deemed inadequate. "We didn’t accomplish much; it’s all thanks to the lord’s might," Lu Qiaochun said sincerely. She sensed the sheer power radiating from the second-floor demon; she was uncertain if she could defeat it, and even if possible, it would be an arduous battle. Yu Ji, standing beside her, was even less capable, and while they might improve their combat prowess together, they would still face significant pressure to vanquish a Great Demon.
"The lord is truly formidable," Yu Ji added earnestly. Their praises elicited a burst of laughter from Fang Yu. But this was merely the prelude. With the map in hand, Fang Yu had no intention of returning without accumulating at least a hundred attribute points today! The first target had exploded; if the subsequent ones proved to be of similar caliber, his returns would skyrocket.
"Follow me, we’ll soon reach the next target’s location," Fang Yu announced. ‘So soon?!’ Lu Qiaochun and Yu Ji were visibly taken aback. This pace was somewhat astonishing. News likely hadn’t even disseminated from the teahouse yet, and they were already en route to their next objective. "Are we still hunting demons?" Lu Qiaochun inquired hesitantly. Fang Yu offered no reply but led them directly into a brothel.
However, Fang Yu soon emerged with them. "Let’s depart," Fang Yu’s tone had become somewhat colder. This time, the suspected target was merely human. The Rebel Army had wasted precious time based on mere rumors. Fang Yu concluded the matter with a single glance, while Lu Qiaochun and Yu Ji followed behind, bewildered. They had entered the brothel, sat briefly on the second floor, and then their lord stood up and left. ‘What... was that?’ they wondered. ‘Had the mission shifted from demon hunting?’
Where were they going, though? Their destination remained unknown, shrouded in confusion. All they could do was keep up with Fang Yu's steps. Before long, Fang Yu spotted another target. The only complication was that the individual was in the middle of the street, causing Fang Yu to abruptly halt. He had almost blundered into a tavern, according to the map's information. "What's wrong?" Lu Qiaochun and Yu Ji halted, curiosity etched on their faces. "Cover me," Fang Yu commanded, uttering only these words before suddenly lunging toward a person in the throng. By the time Lu Qiaochun and Yu Ji could react… Bang!! A mist of blood erupted onto the street. "A demon, is that a demon?!" "Oh no! It's a demon!" "Fear not! The audacious Hundred Households officer of the Hundred Ghosts, Lao Ran, is present! Bold demon, surrender yourself immediately!" Some people shrieked, others shouted warnings, and many fled. The street devolved into chaos in an instant. Witnessing the scene, Lu Qiaochun and Yu Ji plunged into the blood mist. In mere moments, the mist dissipated, revealing a demon's corpse, bisected on the ground. The slayer, however, had already vanished. "It's dead? It's actually dead?" Lao Ran, the Hundred Households officer of the Hundred Ghosts, peered around swiftly before loudly proclaiming, "It couldn't even withstand a single blow; a weak demon, nothing to worry about! Rest assured, this demon was vanquished by me! There's no need for alarm!" The crowd erupted in cheers for Officer Lao Ran, swarming him with expressions of gratitude and engaging in conversation, creating a vibrant tableau. "Tsk," Yu Ji clicked his tongue, offering little more. Meanwhile, Lu Qiaochun commented coolly, "These dogs from the Hundred Ghosts are truly shameless. With his so-called strength, can he even properly wield a saber? And he claims to be slaying demons!" Checking the map, Fang Yu stated, "Let's proceed to the next location." There was nothing they could say; they simply followed. However, this pace and the efficiency of their current task were vastly different from their usual missions. Typically, they undertook a single mission each day, eliminating one demon before returning to claim a reward based on their accomplishments. Such consecutive demon encounters were unprecedented. After all, demons do not simply materialize out of thin air; their presence is usually preceded by omens, reports are confirmed, and then missions are initiated, requiring the assembly of forces to eradicate them. This entire process consumes considerable time, often allowing other factions within the Hundred Ghosts to gather intelligence, thereby sparking competitive races for the right to hunt the demons. Consequently, participation in even one demon eradication task was typically the maximum, let alone engaging in successive battles. Unexpectedly, today, under the guidance of the new Minister, they found themselves facing repeated encounters, and judging by the current situation, two or three demons might not be the end of it. Although slightly taxing, the recent demon slayers had only consumed approximately an hour. At this rate, if they excluded any rest periods, vanquishing ten demons today was not an impossibility. The pressing question remained: does Thunder City truly harbor such a vast number of demons?
