Odyssey of the Blind God Chapter 764 End Of War
Previously on Odyssey of the Blind God...
Nial's breath came in ragged gasps. His milky white, vacant eyes gazed without focus upon the still figure before him.
With a profound sigh, he twisted the blade of the Eternal Darkness Spear further within the Advocate's form before wrenching it free.
"I must consume her," Nial muttered to himself, "to ensure she cannot resurrect or employ any further deceitful tactics."
He was aware that some Advocates had betrayed Damian during the First Great War. To prevent a recurrence of his master's errors, Nial decided to employ his Cursed Divine Ability.
He advanced toward the Advocate of Pryard's lifeless body, prepared to absorb her essence, but abruptly halted his movement.
In less than an instant, Nial teleported, reappearing over a thousand meters from his previous position.
The Advocate of Pryard's corpse erupted moments later.
Streams of silver energy, emanating immense pressure capable of obliterating the collapsing divine realm and shattering its bindings, burst forth from the ruptured body.
Nial found himself able to wield his reinforced dark energy once more.
However, this regained ability offered little advantage now. The Advocate was deceased, and only these silver streams posed a remaining threat.
Uncertain of their exact nature, Nial formed a hypothesis.
Imagining that the power within these strands might contain a fragment of consciousness, he thought, 'Perhaps this is an opportunity! Come now, make a mistake!'
Maintaining a stoic expression, Nial approached the silver streams. Now capable of using his dark energy again, he could unleash his Mana Perception and Mana Sense to their utmost limits.
It was a gratifying sensation to perceive his surroundings clearly once more.
Regrettably, there was little to observe. The divine realm belonging to the Goddess of the Divine Eye had been utterly ruined and was on the verge of total collapse, leaving no trace behind.
While the divine realm itself held little importance to Nial, he recognized the urgency of his departure. Consequently, he began searching his spatial rings for a specific runic armament as he continued his approach toward the silver threads.
[Dark Successor… this is far from over!]
Abruptly, a deep, husky voice echoed throughout the disintegrating divine realm.
Nial had anticipated such a development but feigned surprise.
"W-Who are you?! I vanquished the Advocate. This is impossible…" he cried out, his voice a mixture of feigned shock and a half-mumbled disbelief.
His performance was flawless, and he doubted the consciousness within the silver streams could discern his pretense.
[You may have eliminated this insignificant pawn of mine, but you shall never confront me directly!]
"No… but who are you?" Nial inquired, his tone dripping with feigned astonishment.
[I am but a fragment of the Great Pryard da Nurian.]
[Whether you comprehend that statement or not is irrelevant. The truth remains that we will hunt you. Our scheme may have faltered due to the Advocates' sheer incompetence in plotting against you, Dark Successor, but the Universes are boundless, and time is fleeting.
The Universe may even forget you before we arrive. Yet, that will suffice. I am content with merely eradicating your lineage. Whether you are a Creatoran, an Origin Human, or the Child of the Universe himself, your identity matters little. Await my arrival and relish the subsequent challenges that will befall you.
Additional Advocates will ensure you never experience a moment of boredom.]
[Now… be lost and cease your annoyance!]
Nial's brow furrowed as he listened to the Great Pryard Da Nurian, or whatever his true designation was. A sense of irritation began to surface.
'Why must that entity be so verbose?'
Previously, Nial had regarded the Pryard as exceptionally powerful and cunning. The Advocate of Pryard he had just fought and defeated had proven to be a surprisingly challenging opponent.
The Goddess of the Divine Eye, though not overwhelmingly potent, possessed accumulated strength, strategic cunning, and other faculties that nearly led to his defeat.
She had trapped him repeatedly, and it was only through a significant miscalculation on her part that the Advocate met her end at his hands. Had she not drawn him into the Witness State, the outcome would likely have favored her.
After all, it was thanks to her that he had awakened his Soul Space. He had encountered Goldy and Psy through her efforts… and he had gained deeper insights into his own eyes than anyone else.
[We shall return, and I shall consume all!]
With those pronouncements, the silver streams dissipated.
Nial's expression shifted slightly, but he responded with a dismissive shrug.
*Click*
A distinct clicking sound reached his ears, and a subtle smile graced Nial's lips.
He held a small, tennis ball-sized device in his hand. Activating one of its buttons, a holographic display materialized before him.
Though he could not see it himself, the silver streams were being projected onto the holographic screen.
A second or two after the holographic screen activated, the husky voice of the Great Pryard Da Nurian echoed from the device's speakers.
[Dark Successor… this is far from over!]
"W-Who are you?! I vanquished the Advocate. This is impossible…"
[You may have vanquished my insignificant self, but facing me is beyond your capabilities!]
"Impossible… But who are you?" Nial questioned, absolute shock echoing in his voice.
[I am but a fragment of the formidable Great Pryard da Nurian.]
[Whether you comprehend that revelation or not is irrelevant. The truth is….]
It was a recorded message!
Nial had managed to capture the words spoken by the silver streams.
'It has finally concluded…' Nial mused internally, a deep certainty settling within him that this recording was ample proof that both he and Damian had only intended to eradicate the Advocates, ensuring the enduring safety of the Universe.
Nial held no illusions that they would be celebrated as heroes or receive any such accolades.
However, such recognition was inconsequential to him.
His sole concern was that the recording would expose the truth, an act he believed would be sufficient to bring the Great War to an end.
Perhaps, he mused, the Great War had already reached its conclusion?
**
The abrupt cessation of the Second Great War remained a mystery to many. Yet, the leaders were aware that the Dark Successor had slain the Divine Eye Goddess before presenting a specific recording to the other Divine Gods, Primordials, and Ancients.
Following this act, the Second Great War instantly concluded.
While numerous factions expressed discontent with this swift resolution, their complaints fell on deaf ears. They were free to continue fighting if they desired a thorough thrashing.
Nial's formidable Army of Devils, alongside billions of powerhouses from the four Gigalorian Galaxies, stood prepared to subdue any opposition.
The collective might of the four Gigalorian Galaxies had proven sufficient to extend their dominion across various Universes. What challenge could the youngest Universe possibly pose to them?
They had lent their support to Nial Orin, the Dark Successor, nothing more and nothing less… and they were poised to continue their backing, even if he harbored ambitions of claiming the entire Universe as his own.
Naturally, Nial harbored no such desires.
His only aspiration was for peace and the prospect of a tranquil existence.
