"Blast it..."
Fang Yu uttered a curse under his breath, yet he still complied, drawing out three thousand Gold Coins and presenting them to Mr. Wang. His Gold Coin count shifted from 7300 to 4300.
A feeling of heart-wrenching loss washed over Fang Yu; three thousand Gold Coins represented a significant sum. At this particular juncture, its purchasing power was truly immense.
"What a deceitful swindler, with intentions as dark as a ghost!"
Fang Yu seethed internally, but a part of him acknowledged that these three thousand Gold Coins were indeed earned. Considering Mr. Wang's arduous journey and his demonstrable skill, the payment was justified, perhaps even deserved.
Fang Yu found himself willing to part with the money.
"Very well, Mr. Wang, once you've concluded this task for me, make haste in your departure," Fang Yu stated with gravity. "The Lanyun Sea Country has been rather volatile of late; remaining here poses considerable risks."
Wang Yuanwei paused, on the verge of speaking.
However, at that precise moment, a voice from below called out Fang Yu’s name with considerable volume. A ripple of surprise went through the onlookers as they soon observed a young man, a smile gracing his lips, standing beneath Fang Yu’s sea vessel. He waved cheerily at Fang Yu and his companions.
Fang Yu’s gaze fell upon the uniform adorning the young man – it was the unmistakable insignia of the Ocean Court. Fang Yu’s spirits brightened instantly, and he quickly beckoned the newcomer aboard.
Shortly thereafter, the young man ascended the sea vessel, brushed some dust from his attire, and then turned his attention to Fang Yu. He offered a salute, stating, "Greetings, Captain Fang Yu. I am Chen Xiaolin, dispatched by Mr. Zhao. Mr. Zhao has requested I speak with you."
An inner surge of joy coursed through Fang Yu. Without uttering another word, he ushered the young man directly into the captain’s cabin.
"Please, have a seat, Mr. Chen. What news of Mr. Zhao? Why has he not come himself?"
Fang Yu signaled to Ma to escort Wang Yuanwei from the sea vessel, also cautioning Wang Yuanwei to depart the Lanyun Sea Country swiftly. He then turned his focus to the young Law Enforcer before him, his expression one of curiosity.
Chen Xiaolin, though bearing the vestiges of youth on his countenance, exuded a distinct heroic bearing. A bright spark glinted in his eyes, hinting at an unshakeable confidence in the future.
In response to Fang Yu’s inquiry, Chen Xiaolin offered a smile and explained, "Mr. Zhao has been exceptionally occupied these past couple of days, leaving him without the time to visit. Thus, he sent me alone to convey his message."
"Mr. Zhao wishes for you to remain unconcerned; he has already initiated the deployment of Ocean Court forces to secure the Lanyun Sea Country."
"The Ocean Court's military contingent is currently en route to the Lanyun Sea Country."
"Their arrival in the Lanyun Sea Country is anticipated within two days."
"Mr. Zhao has indicated that Sovereign Lanyun harbors certain hidden intentions. While the Ocean Court cannot directly intervene in the domestic affairs of other nations, it can certainly uphold justice on your behalf."
"Please rest assured, Captain Fang Yu, that with the Ocean Court's presence established here, the truth will inevitably surface. At that juncture, should your innocence be confirmed, you will be able to return safely to the Duorong Federation."
Chen Xiaolin spoke with a clear, logical tone, his voice imbued with youthful vigor.
Upon hearing Chen Xiaolin’s words, Fang Yu let out a subtle sigh of relief and responded with a smile, "Naturally, I place my trust in Mr. Zhao. With the Ocean Court’s army here, Sovereign Lanyun likely won't dare to act against me."
"Precisely!"
Chen Xiaolin’s eyes gleamed with renewed intensity. Then, as if recalling something, he added,
"Ah, yes, Mr. Zhao also instructed me to inform you in advance, Captain Fang Yu."
"The Sovereign has summoned Captain Fang Yu to the Congress in two days' time."
"At that gathering, Captain Fang Yu may bring Mr. Hua Yu, allowing Mr. Hua Yu to clarify the misunderstanding concerning the Sin Domain matters."
"Subsequently, Mr. Zhao will also leverage the influence of the Ocean Court to disseminate this information widely throughout the Lanyun Sea Country, thereby appeasing the populace's discontent."
Due to the sensitive religious nature of Qian Luan, both Fang Yu and Zhao Chenlin referred to Qian Luan as Hua Yu when speaking with outsiders. Revealing Hua Yu's demise would only exacerbate Qian Luan’s precarious situation.
At this moment, Chen Xiaolin remained unaware of any internal infiltration. However, Fang Yu fully grasped the message conveyed by Zhao Chenlin.
In two days, he would escort Qian Luan to the Lanyun Sea Country Congress to meet the Sovereign. Together, they would present Qian Luan as Hua Yu before all the politicians and the Sovereign, thereby rectifying the past deception regarding the Sin Domain pass. This action would also restore the honor of Kong Huaao and the Duorong Federation.
While Qian Luan and Hua Yu shared a similar aura, given Sovereign Lanyun’s keen insight, he would undoubtedly perceive that Qian Luan was merely an entity conjured through Soul Splitting Alchemy. Thus, with a potential resolution in sight, Fang Yu finally felt a measure of relief.
A sense of satisfaction bloomed within Fang Yu as he considered the prospect of returning to the Duorong Federation in just two days.
Once the Ocean Court's forces were deployed here, even if the Lanyun Sea Country's military strength was superior to this lone contingent, the Sovereign would hesitate to make any clandestine moves with the Ocean Court observing.
Whether conflict ensued or not, at the very least, his and Kong Huaao's lives would be secured.
With these thoughts, Fang Yu promptly informed Chen Xiaolin that he grasped the situation.
Everything... would hinge on the coming two days, to establish his innocence before the Congress.
Fang Yu mused inwardly.
...
Fang Yu remained active during the subsequent two days.
Although the Lanyun Sea Country was no longer in immediate peril, Fang Yu could still keenly feel the simmering tensions among the various sea nations.
Immediate threats included the potential for wars between sea countries.
Further away, there loomed the danger posed by the Peacekeeping Council.
Regardless of external circumstances, bolstering his own strength and cultivation level was paramount.
