Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven Chapter 652: The Overseer’s Real Identity

The presence descended from the sky with overwhelming force.
Golden light poured down like a waterfall, illuminating the entire planet beneath them.
A figure emerged from that brilliant radiance.
He was covered in golden energy so dense that Grey couldn’t see his full body. Only a vague humanoid silhouette was visible through the blinding glow.
But Grey could tell one thing clearly.
This guy was annoyed.
Very annoyed.
"Who the hell are you?" the Overseer demanded.
His voice echoed across the world, carrying authority that made the awakened humans below tremble in fear.
Grey floated calmly in the sky, completely unfazed by the pressure radiating from the golden figure.
"I’m no one," he replied casually. "Don’t worry about me."
He crossed his arms over his chest with a relaxed posture.
"What I’m here for, however, is the Chaos Source Codex. Hand it over nicely, and we won’t have any issues."
Grey tilted his head slightly.
"Of course, I will also be permanently eliminating the concept of this suppressive DNA from this world. Consider that a bonus for the people living here."
The Overseer’s golden form flickered with visible anger at his words.
"And who do you think you are to tell me that?"
His voice dripped with contempt and barely contained rage.
Grey shrugged his shoulders without concern.
"Just a guy passing through. Nothing special."
"You have a death wish, kid," the Overseer growled dangerously. "Die now!"
The attack came without any warning.
Golden energy condensed into a massive spear that shot toward Grey at blinding speed. The air itself screamed as the attack tore through space.
But Eterna moved faster.
She appeared directly in front of Grey, her hand raised toward the incoming attack.
A barrier materialized from thin air, its surface covered in complex circuit patterns that pulsed with energy.
The golden spear slammed into her barrier.
The impact created shockwaves that rippled across the entire sky, sending clouds scattering in every direction.
But the barrier held and disrupted the attack.
The Overseer’s eyes widened behind his golden veil.
This woman had blocked his attack?
He was at the 12th rank. His power should have obliterated anything in its path without resistance.
Yet she stood there completely unharmed, her barrier absorbing the remaining energy.
Eterna’s expression remained calm as she dispersed the absorbed power into harmless particles.
Grey smiled warmly at her back.
"You’ve grown a lot, Eterna."
She was only at the 10th rank but her powers were already matching the 12th rank.
Eterna’s cheeks flushed slightly pink at his praise. She turned her head just enough to glance at him from the corner of her eye.
"I will protect you, Grey."
Her voice carried absolute determination.
Grey chuckled softly at her declaration.
For some reason, the girls around him were obsessed with protecting him. Even though he was probably the person who needed the least protection in all of existence.
But it kind of made sense when he thought about it.
There were several higher-dimensional beings actively hunting him down. Tian Yuan wanted his head. The Abyssal God had marked him as a target. The Paragons were searching for him across reality.
Having people willing to fight alongside him wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
The Overseer recovered from his initial surprise and attacked again.
This time he didn’t hold back even slightly.
Golden spears materialized around his form, dozens of them appearing in perfect formation. Each one radiated enough destructive power to obliterate an entire continent.
He launched them all simultaneously.
The sky filled with streaks of golden light converging on their position.
Eterna’s eyes narrowed with focus.
Her hands moved rapidly through the air as she constructed countermeasures at incredible speed.
Technological cannons appeared around her in a defensive ring, each one firing concentrated beams of data energy that intercepted the golden spears mid-flight.
Explosions filled the sky one after another.
Golden light clashed against technological constructs in a dazzling display of power.
But the Overseer wasn’t finished.
He pressed forward through the chaos of explosions, closing the distance between them with frightening speed.
His arm pulled back as golden energy concentrated around his fist.
Then he swung downward with tremendous force.
A golden blade of pure energy descended toward Eterna’s head, moving too fast for normal perception to track.
Eterna raised both hands immediately.
Two barrier constructs materialized above her, catching the golden blade between them.
The impact drove her body downward through the air, her entire frame straining against the overwhelming pressure.
Cracks began spreading across her barriers like spiderwebs.
But she refused to give ground.
Her teeth clenched as she pushed back against the attack with everything she had.
"Impressive," the Overseer admitted with a cold voice. "You actually managed to block that."
He leaned forward slightly.
"But it’s not enough."
He pushed harder.
The cracks in Eterna’s barriers spread faster, pieces beginning to chip away under the relentless pressure.
Her arms trembled from the strain of holding back a force that exceeded her limits.
The barriers shattered completely.
Fragments of technological constructs scattered through the air like broken glass.
Eterna’s eyes widened as the golden blade continued its descent toward her unprotected body.
Seeing this, Grey immediately moved.
He appeared beside her in an instant, his arm wrapping around her waist protectively.
His other hand shot upward and stopped the golden blade with a single finger.
The Overseer froze in shock seeing this.
Grey looked down at Eterna in his arms. She was clearly exhausted.
She had pushed herself beyond her limits trying to protect him.
"You did your best," Grey said gently.
Eterna looked up at him with her same emotionless eyes, but there was something different inside them.
If Grey wasn’t wrong, that was frustration.
"Grey, I wanted to..."
"I know," he interrupted softly. "And you did amazing."
He set her down carefully on a platform of solidified space that he created beneath her feet.
"Let me handle the rest."
Grey turned to face the Overseer directly.
Then golden light erupted from his body.
But this wasn’t ordinary golden light.
It was fundamentally different from the Overseer’s energy.
Grey had activated his Buddha Mode.
His entire form transformed as the power of the Buddha flowed through him. The golden radiance surrounding him felt purer, more complete, more divine than anything the Overseer possessed.
It was the difference between a candle and the sun.
The Overseer stumbled backward in visible shock at the transformation.
"Who are you?!" he demanded with a shaking voice. "How do you have the Buddha’s powers?!"
Grey smiled calmly at his reaction.
"You don’t need to worry about that."
He took a single step forward, and reality itself seemed to bend around his presence.
"But what I need to know is this."
Grey’s eyes met the Overseer’s directly.
"Are you an Earth transmigrator?"
The Overseer’s entire body went completely rigid at his words.
The golden light surrounding him flickered violently, destabilized by his emotional reaction.
His silence told Grey everything he needed to know.
Grey’s smile widened at the confirmation.
"So I was right after all."
The Overseer’s shock rapidly transformed into burning fury.
"Who are you?!" he roared with intensity. "What do you know about Earth transmigrators?!"
Grey didn’t answer his question.
The Overseer completely lost his composure seeing him ignoring his question.
Golden energy exploded outward from his body as he launched himself directly at Grey with murderous intent.
His fist aimed straight at Grey’s face, carrying enough force to shatter countless universes.
