Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven Chapter 650: The Suppressant DNA

He had two theories about this world and why it was like this.
One was that this entire setting was some sort of fake front to confuse others and hide the Chaos Source Codex.
Or it could be the wish of someone who wanted a normal world where there were no evolvers.
For instance, an Earth transmigrator.
From what he had observed, this seemed like some sort of fantasy. Someone wanting to live in a world similar to Earth after losing it.
The so-called Overseer might just be doing exactly that.
Of course, he still believed the former theory more. The one where someone was trying to protect the Chaos Source Codex.
Whatever it was, this person was clearly dangerous.
They seemed to have great importance in this world, even going to the point of directly intervening to stop a nuclear explosion.
But doesn’t that mean he just needed to cause some next-level disaster and the Overseer would come down?
That was certainly possible.
But then again, why would he do that?
At least not yet. He still didn’t know how powerful this Overseer was.
Grey turned toward Neumann.
"Do you know what level this Overseer is at?"
Neumann shook her head.
"I don’t understand what power the Overseer possesses," she admitted. "But it was clear that I could hide from them due to the Information Layer. That being doesn’t have access to the Information Layer of this world."
Grey nodded at her explanation.
That was a good thing.
The Information Layer was basically the ultimate card for hiding from people. As long as you had access to it, unless your opponent was a Mecha Race person, you were as good as hidden.
They wouldn’t even be able to find a trace of you, even if you weren’t a Fateless One.
Hence, Eterna was fine here.
For now, the best outcome would be to test the waters.
For example, he could start by removing the restrictions placed on people and see if it triggered a reaction from the Overseer.
"Bring out the seven people from before," Grey said to Neumann.
The AI nodded and clapped her hands.
The seven awakeners reappeared in the room, looking confused and disoriented from being teleported twice.
"What now?" the scarred man demanded. "Haven’t you done enough to us?"
Grey ignored his complaints.
"Stay still," he commanded.
"What? Why should we—"
"I said stay still."
His voice carried enough weight that all seven of them froze in place.
Grey activated his Mecha Race ability, golden circuits spreading across his irises.
He began scanning each of them, storing the data inside his server.
What he found was fascinating.
This restriction was not ordinary.
He could see reality constantly being bent around each individual person. That made sense, considering this wouldn’t be possible under normal circumstances.
But aside from that, he also noticed severe core alteration.
Their cores were fundamentally changed. The physical body had been made permanent in a way that made it impossible to access the core, source, or origin inside them.
Grey checked the DNA of their physical bodies next.
The DNA suggested that someone had sophisticatedly ensured that people with this type of genetic structure would never be able to contact energy or manipulate it under normal circumstances.
He saw certain loopholes though.
These loopholes were what Neumann had used to make them awakeners.
That made a lot of sense now.
This DNA was not ordinary. Normal DNA couldn’t suppress the existence of an 8th or 11th rank being.
This was a special physical body constructed by a higher power to ensure minimal exposure to energy. It basically forced people to live their lives without knowing how to manipulate power or even come into contact with it.
Even if their consciousness or soul was fully capable of achieving such things.
Grey smiled faintly.
"Alright, let’s fix this."
He began changing their DNA.
His hands moved rapidly as he reconstructed their genetic structure, completely shattering the limitations that had been placed on them.
Power flooded into their cores.
All seven of them gasped in shock as energy surged through their bodies for the first time.
Grey was even generous enough to implant basic knowledge about controlling their newfound abilities.
Then he snapped his fingers.
Space folded around them, forming shields that contained their energy output. He didn’t want them accidentally destroying everything around them.
Neumann stared at the scene with visible shock.
"You actually managed to do it," she said with genuine surprise. "I spent decades trying to unlock even a fraction of their potential."
Eterna, on the other hand, didn’t even bat an eye.
She was used to Grey’s powers and unusualness. There was nothing here that could surprise her anymore.
The scarred man stared at his hands in disbelief.
Orange flames danced across his palms, far more intense than anything he had produced before.
"This... this is my true power?" His voice trembled with emotion. "To think I had such strength inside me all along!"
The red-haired woman’s pistols crackled with lightning that arced between her fingers.
"I feel like I could level a mountain with a single shot," she whispered.
The silver-haired youth swung his sword experimentally.
The blade left trails of white energy in the air that didn’t fade.
"I could destroy this entire planet," he said with wide eyes.
The bearded man’s cybernetic arm hummed with power that made the room vibrate.
"No, I feel like I could destroy this universe!" he exclaimed.
Grey held up his hand immediately.
"Yeah, don’t go around destroying the universe. We don’t want that."
All seven of them dropped to their knees and bowed deeply.
"Thank you, Lord!" the scarred man said with genuine reverence.
"Thank you, generous elder!" the red-haired woman added.
Grey’s expression twitched violently.
"What did you just call me?"
"Elder?" the woman repeated with confusion.
"I’m 18 years old," Grey said flatly. "Call me elder again and I will take back everything I just gave you."
The room went completely silent.
"18 years old?" the silver-haired youth stammered.
"That’s impossible," the bearded man shook his head. "Even Neumann is over 100 years old. How can you be only 18?"
"That doesn’t make any sense!" the scarred man protested.
Grey crossed his arms over his chest.
"Do I look like I’m lying to you?"
All seven of them studied his face carefully.
He did look young now that they paid attention.
Too young to possess the kind of power he had just displayed.
But age is meaningless to a higher dimensional being. Now having their powers fully unleashed, they understood that very much.
But for some reason, they didn’t think he was lying to them.
"This world is truly unfair," the red-haired woman muttered under her breath.
Neumann’s emotionless expression shifted slightly.
Even she seemed to be processing this information with difficulty.
An 18-year-old who could casually rewrite DNA and unlock powers that had been sealed by a being capable of suppressing an entire universe?
What kind of monster was this person?
