A monk, seeking enlightenment, descends into a spiral of doubt and rage after witnessing others achieve their goals before him. Consumed by negative emotions, he transforms into a monstrous Asura and is ultimately sealed within an urn by the power of the Buddhist Land. Meanwhile, Grey, having witnessed this vision, finds himself back in the real world as other factions arrive at the stupa, all succumbing to a corrupting power emanating from the very urn that sealed the Asura.

Grey sensed the Asura’s mind stirring within the urn. It pushed hard against the gold seal that had trapped it for countless eras.

Lyris stepped closer to him with a pale face.

"What should we do, Elder?" she asked with urgency in her voice.

Grey kept his eyes fixed on the urn.

"Looks like we have no other option than to fight."

Just then, the red corruption burst outward.

Dark tendrils of energy shot toward Lyris before Grey could react. The red mist wrapped around her body and seeped straight into her mind.

Her violet eyes glazed over instantly, and she collapsed to her knees.

"Lyris!" Grey reached for her, but she was already gone. She had fallen into the same illusion that trapped the others.

"How annoying." Grey clicked his tongue.

If not for the Nexus Energy protecting him, he too would have been corrupted.

The urn shook violently as a massive presence erupted from within.

The Asura manifested above the sacred vessel. His giant crimson body possessed six muscular arms, and his face twisted with pure madness.

"Finally," the Asura declared with a booming voice that shook the chamber. "After countless eras, I am free. The Buddha could not hold me forever!"

His burning eyes locked onto Grey.

"And who are you, little mortal?"

As he spoke, his aura blasted outward. He intended to crush Grey entirely.

Sensing the attack, Grey’s Nexus Energy stirred on its own. Purple light erupted from his body to compete with the Asura’s power.

The two powers clashed in the air between them. Sparks of pure energy ripped across the room.

The Asura opened his eyes wide with sudden interest.

"What is that power?" he asked, leaning forward with genuine curiosity. "I have never sensed anything like it."

"Don’t worry about it," Grey replied.

The Asura laughed, and the sound made the entire stupa vibrate.

"Interesting, very interesting." His six arms spread wide. "Let me see what you can do, little one."

As he spoke, he attacked.

BOOM!

Six giant fists descended toward Grey simultaneously. Each strike carried enough force to break worlds apart.

Grey activated Nexus Overclock.

Glowing circuit lines rapidly spread across his skin as his processing speed and physical strength multiplied explosively.

He met the first fist with his own. The impact sent wild shockwaves ripping through the dimension.

The second fist came from his left, and he deflected it with a precise palm strike.

He dodged the third and fourth attacks by shifting through space. His body flashed between different positions to avoid the massive blows.

But the fifth fist caught him right in the chest.

Grey flew backward. He crashed through several headless Buddha statues before stopping himself mid-air.

However, due to the attack, energy leaked out from his source causing his power to go out of control for an instant before he caught himself.

The Asura was strong, far stronger than anything Grey had faced before.

"Is that all?" The Asura sneered. "I expected more from someone with such interesting power."

Grey didn’t reply, instead he charged forward once again.

They clashed in the center of the chamber. Fists and purple energy collided in a storm of destruction.

Grey used every technique he had learned.

He threw a Chaos Annihilation Fist to counter a downward smash. He followed up with a Dimensional Rending Palm to slice through the Asura’s defense, and he raised a Void Reflection Shield to block a sudden counterattack.

But the Asura matched him blow for blow. The six arms provided too much coverage.

Slowly, Grey began losing ground.

A stray punch slipped through his guard and sent him crashing into the floor.

Grey struggled to rise. His body screamed in protest as the Asura’s violent energy wrecked havoc inside his meridians.

This man was hard to handle, even with the high multipliers of Nexus Overclock.

But Grey wasn’t out of options.

He could summon an army of devils here.

The Asura towered over him with a triumphant smile.

"You fought well, little one." He raised all six fists into the air. "Now die."

Just then, a bright crimson light exploded into the chamber.

A figure shot through the entrance at an impossible speed. It transformed mid-flight into a massive weapon.

It was Little Hong!

The Primordial Axe of Creation materialized right in Grey’s hand.

[Did I arrive in time, Dad?] Little Hong’s voice rang out inside Grey’s mind.

"Your timing couldn’t be better, Little Hong." Grey smiled. His daughter was truly his greatest treasure.

The Asura opened his eyes wide with shock.

"That weapon, why does it look like..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Grey swung the axe upward.

BOOM! WHRMMM!

The strike carried the mass of creation itself. It was a force that could shape and destroy realities with a single blow.

The Asura crossed all six arms to block.

The impact sent the giant flying backward. His crimson body started cracking under the extreme pressure.

"ARGHH!" The Asura screamed as the Chaos Power stored in the axe tore through his defenses.

Grey pressed his advantage. He swung the axe again and again.

Sou! Sou!

Each heavy strike pushed the Asura further back. Each blow widened the glowing cracks in his corrupted form.

The Asura grew desperate.

He gathered all his remaining energy and unleashed it in a single explosive burst. The blast created a large distance between himself and Grey.

[Dad, he’s escaping!] Little Hong said quickly.

Grey saw it too. A dark Hell Portal tore open right behind the Asura, with black flames swirling around its edges.

"I know. But don’t go after him," Grey commanded.

[But Dad!]

"Your intervention just now temporarily suppressed the urn’s power while overpowering him." Grey narrowed his eyes as he watched the Asura retreat. "He is at least at the thirteenth rank. Those envoys from the Higher Realm were also trapped in his illusion."

"They couldn’t deal with him either. What can we do now that the Urn is no longer suppressing his powers?"

The Asura glanced back at Grey one final time. Pure hatred burned in his eyes.

"We will meet again, little one," he snarled. "And next time, I will claim that power of yours."

"I am the Asura of Wrath, Naraka."

He stepped backward through the Hell Portal, and the dark flames collapsed behind him.

The moment the Asura vanished, the corruption in the chamber began to fade away.

The red energy dissolved into nothing. Everyone who had been trapped in the illusion started waking up one by one.

Grey watched as the faction leaders and their subordinates slowly regained consciousness.

None of them seemed to remember what had happened.

"Where are we?" Sovereign Kael muttered, looking around in confusion.

"This must be the main chamber," Elder Tharos said. His eyes scanned the surroundings. "We must have been teleported here."

Then they spotted the urn.

Golden light still radiated from its surface. The dark corruption was completely gone after the Asura left.

"That must be the treasure!" High Lord Vaeros shouted.

"That’s it!" Elder Tharos’s eyes blazed with intense greed.

All of them turned to see Grey standing between them and the urn.

Their expressions turned hostile immediately.

"Move away unless you want to get killed," Sovereign Kael said coldly.

Patriarch Aurelius of the Celestial Covenant spotted his daughter nearby.

"What are you doing over there, Lyris?" he called out with urgency. "Come here, quickly!"

He valued his daughter’s safety over any treasure.

Lyris had just regained her senses. She looked between her father and Grey with conflicted eyes.

"Father, there’s a misunderstanding!" she said desperately. "We need to help the Elder!"

She glanced at Grey with panic clearly written on her face.

"Elder, we need to move out of their way," she urged. "Please, they will kill you!"

Grey glanced at her with a calm smile. "Why should I move?"

Lyris turned completely pale hearing this.

Did this Elder have a death wish?

One should always know when to back down. These were the top powers of the Twelfth Plane standing against him.

He was just one man.

What could he possibly do?

[Little Hong,] Grey called out mentally. [Can you go one more round?]

[No.] Little Hong’s response was immediate. [We can’t win against them, Dad. Surrender immediately.]

Grey’s expression stiffened at her words. His confidence quickly crumbled.

[What? I am sure we can squeeze out a bit more power, right?]

[I will die, Dad.]

Grey’s face twitched violently at her blunt words.

He could summon devils, yes. But the people around him were at the peak of the twelfth rank. There was a huge difference in power between an early twelfth ranker and a late one. Not to mention, the envoy whose power was majorly suppressed was also standing right there.

He turned to look at the urn.

But, would he back down?

Hell no!

His eyes locked onto the Urn.

Perhaps this would be the key to breaking through here.

His thoughts did not betray him.

His Chaos Lotus immediately spun into action.
