During a lecture on the Aether Evolutionary Path, the renowned Esper author Alan Benson revealed its immense power and unique properties. He explained how it utilizes frequency, surpasses primordial paths, and allows 5th-rank users to retain powerful traits, even those of beasts. Astonishingly, Benson declared his desire to become a disciple of the Aether Path's creator and urged everyone to spread the word, offering rewards to anyone who could help him connect with the elusive author.

As expected of the esteemed author known for their 'Esper' works, their intellect was truly sharp.

Amidst the throng, Grey observed the man whose lips twitched. He found himself unsure whether to erupt in laughter or despair. He already possessed a substantial number of disciples. Not long ago, he had welcomed a second one for formations, the elf Aerin. Then there was his disciple Werner, and also Carter Smith.

His capacity to take on another student simply wasn't there!

"However, he could prove immensely beneficial on this path," Grey pondered with deep thought.

If he were able to recruit this man as his disciple, it might yield significant advantages in the long run.

Regardless of the method, this individual was an 8th ranker in his own right.

The sixth rank was characterized by optimization. It represented the refinement of one's existence after establishing a connection with the grand world and ascending to higher dimensions.

It was at the sixth rank that an individual's power experienced exponential growth.

His aspiration was to forge the most flawless path possible.

"Should I reach out to him?" Grey seemed lost in contemplation.

Ultimately, he made the decision to proceed.

Once the lecture concluded, he dispatched a concise message declaring himself as the new Saint under the Aether Evolutionary Path.

The very instant the message was sent, a reply was received.

[Where are you located? I shall meet you there.]

[I am currently on the main street, adjacent to the Runic research institute area.]

[I am on my way.]

With a flicker of light, Alan Benson soon materialized beside Grey.

"It truly is you," Alan exclaimed, his eyes wide with astonishment. "Come, let us discuss this in a more private setting."

"Certainly. Please, lead the way."

Alan nodded, and without delay, he escorted Grey into a private lounge.

"So, you mentioned you wished to meet the creator of the Aether Evolutionary Path. Is that correct?" Grey inquired, tilting his head.

"Yes. That is precisely correct," Alan Benson affirmed with a look of utmost sincerity.

"I can arrange a meeting with him," Grey stated, a subtle smile gracing his lips.

"Truly?" Alan's excitement was immediate and palpable.

"Indeed. You may meet him. However, it would cause considerable trouble if his existence were to be revealed to others."

"I would never do such a thing," Alan Benson responded hastily. "I am prepared to swear a binding vow."

"Oh?" Grey expressed surprise. A binding vow so readily offered?

"Very well. If you are willing to swear a binding vow at this moment, then I shall escort you to the author," Grey said in a gentle tone.

"Understood." Alan readily agreed.

He swiftly proceeded to make the binding vow.

"There, it is done. Will you now take me to the progenitor of the Aether path? I have harbored a desire to meet him since the inception of my research into it. I wished to seek his counsel regarding a matter concerning the information layer."

"Of course." Grey comfortably settled his legs, reclining leisurely in the chair. "Proceed with your inquiry."

"You are currently conversing with him," Grey added with a knowing smile.

"What?!" Alan Benson leaped from his seat, his disbelief profound.

"Saint Grey, are you jesting with me?" Alan Benson questioned, a frown creasing his brow. "I have even undertaken a binding vow. Is this how you choose to treat me?"

"You are still too young to be the progenitor of an evolutionary path. You may have attained Sainthood, but a vast number of scholars possess Sainthood potential, myself included. I never pursued that step as it held no interest for me whatsoever."

"Blast it all, no one believes me, do they?" Grey lamented with a crestfallen expression.

Such is the nature of life. Youth is often a reason for being underestimated.

Then, just as Alan Benson was about to voice further objections, he abruptly halted. A brilliant light emanated from Grey, and in the subsequent instant, Alan's countenance transformed drastically.

"C-Creator Invocation," Alan Benson stammered, his voice laced with disbelief.

"Impossible... It is actually resonating with the Aether clone I have nearby." Alan Benson's consciousness was linked to a clone he had created to experiment with the path. The moment the Creator Invocation manifested, the clone's power began to fluctuate erratically, as if being drawn towards the invocation.

"So. Where were we? The information layer, was it not?" Grey inquired softly, a gentle smile returning. "Ask your questions. I shall provide answers to all of them."

"S-Senior Grey." Alan Benson executed a precise and formal ninety-degree bow. "I offer my sincerest apologies for my doubt. It appears you attained Sainthood through the very act of forming this path. As anticipated. You are indeed a tremendously powerful being to have established such a potent path, on par with the Primordial path. I offer you my deepest respects."

"It is but a small matter," Grey replied with a modest smile. "I was fortunate."

"Mere luck is insufficient for the creation of a path," Alan countered, shaking his head gently. "I suspect there is far more to it than just that."

"In any case. I wished to inquire about something pertaining to the information layer."

"I have scrutinized your path. From my perspective, I can discern certain linkages in the manner you developed the mind aspect of the Aether path. If my assessment is correct, you deliberately excised the ability to access the information layer from the path itself. Is that not so?"

"Oh." Grey nodded. "It is indeed like that. I did take away the ability to enter the information layer. Well, I did not completely erase its traces since no one would find it under normal circumstances, except for those who have a deep yearning for the information layer." "If they find it, I won’t mind giving them the ability to enter the information layer." "Then, does that mean you can enter the information layer as a human, Senior Grey?" Alan asked, his eyes widening like saucers. He knew Grey had some connection to the information layer, but he never imagined such a thing to be completely true! "I mean, I am not really a human anymore. Consider me a Nexus Being. But yes, I did enter the information layer as a human. I do believe it is because of my path." Yes, the answer to entering the information layer was always tied to his path. Not just for him, but as its creator, he naturally took all the credit. "How?" Alan Benson inquired, completely unable to grasp this strange phenomenon. "My Qi is a combination of two powers rather than one," Grey stated simply. "Do you know about divine energy?" "I do." Alan Benson gave a nod. "Then, you might not know this. But divine energy can influence the information layer as well." "That divine energy is precisely a combination of two energies." "Meaning, to enter the information layer, an incomplete energy isn’t enough. You nourish your Dao with the same incomplete energy. Do you think you will be able to touch upon the Akashic Records that contain all possible instances of the endless reality with such incompleteness?" "There is also the fact that you need to have a spiritual conduit in the information layer for you to truly begin accessing it."
