Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven Chapter 473: Reunion, a visit from the ancestor

BOOM!
A massive rift tore through the heavens over the sealed Dragon Secret Realm. Within that barren void, two figures remained seated, shackled by thick chains, their expressions steady and resolute.
The moment the sky split apart, alarm flashed across their faces. But Melissa and Wang Lin's shock soon turned to utter astonishment. Hovering overhead loomed a vast legion of one million Nexus Angels, alongside a gigantic dragon adorned with shimmering cosmic rings. Lounging atop the creature was a figure Wang Lin recognized instantly. Right beside him stood Alissa.
Wang Lin's eyes narrowed sharply at the young man perched on the dragon. He swallowed hard. "G-Grey?"
He wondered if he was seeing things. In that instant, the heavy shackles chaining him and Melissa crumbled apart. The binding seals faded completely, dissolving into nothingness.
Disbelief filled their eyes as they blinked. Suddenly, a lithe form plummeted from above, plunging directly into Melissa’s arms.
"Alissa!" Melissa exclaimed. A stunning beauty in her early twenties, she shared an uncanny likeness with Alissa, yet exuded a gentler, more nurturing presence.
Wang Lin paid no heed to the heartfelt reunion. His stare fixed on the otherworldly Nexus Angels and the fearsome dragon. At the center of it all sat his own son.
Despite the drastic changes in the boy's looks, Wang Lin knew him without doubt. Grey Lockhart!
Grey gazed silently down at Wang Lin. With a flicker, he materialized beside his father in the next breath.
"You left without saying a single word," Grey murmured softly.
"I did, did I not?" Wang Lin sighed, his shoulders drooping. "I am sorry. To both of you. Truly."
A faint tremble ran through Wang Lin's body, as though tears might spill any second.
"Why are you crying? You are a thousand-year-old monster. Is crying something a senior expert should be doing?" Grey asked, utterly at a loss for words.
His father ranked in the mid-6th level. His power stood out, particularly after seventeen years of dormancy, still reclaiming his former heights.
Melissa, tenderly soothing Alissa, had reached the pinnacle of the 6th Rank. It made perfect sense—she'd cultivated in this isolated realm brimming with potent cosmic energy.
"Grey, who are those beings behind you? Are they from a different universe?" Wang Lin had to inquire.
"No," Alissa replied from her mother's cozy hold.
The Dragon Clan had once manipulated their encounters to enforce obedience. In reality, her mother endured harsh enslavement, far beyond a simple servant's lot. Wang Lin had stormed the Dragon World in a bid to free her, only to fall short.
Her parents swiveled to face Alissa as she spoke.
"Those one million angelic figures you see in the air? Those are devils he summoned straight from hell," Alissa stated flatly. "That terrifying dragon is also his summon."
After a brief pause, she unleashed the ultimate revelation. "And he just eliminated the entire Dragon Clan."
"What?" Deep worry etched Wang Lin and Melissa's faces as they regarded Alissa. The auras were unmistakable—Grey seemed younger, his core presence milder than hers. Alissa had advanced to the fifth level of the 5th Rank.
Grey merely sighed. Gradually, he revealed his radiant Saintly Halos, which pulsed in harmony with the million Nexus Angels and the Beast of Finality. In flawless synchronization, they all lowered their heads to him.
Melissa and Wang Lin's thoughts blanked out before the grand spectacle. Words failed them as their jaws hung open. Even Alissa observed with a mix of emotions.
"It is a very long story," Grey remarked, eyeing his stunned father. "But starting today, there is no more Dragon Clan. The only lingering threat we have left is the so-called Dragon Ancestor descending from the higher worlds to deal with me."
Grey let out another sigh. Yet he held an ultimate ace: his grandfather, the Arclight Immortal! Surely his father grasped the precise way to call him forth.
"Well, for now, you all should stay here and catch up. I have some business to handle back on the Origin Planet." Grey vanished in a flash, taking the Beast of Finality and Nexus Angels with him.
On the Origin Planet, not a soul stirred. Twenty full minutes ticked by in the vast stadium's eerie hush. Every onlooker gaped vacantly at the vacant skies.
Right then, a beam of holy radiance plunged from the heavens. Grey reappeared amid his majestic cosmic forces. His overwhelming aura made everyone nearby quake uncontrollably.
With a stern and grave look, the Grand Arbiter gazed intently at Grey.
"You know, you have been pretty useless this entire time, right?" Grey remarked offhandedly, eyeing the alliance overseer.
"I..." The Grand Arbiter tried to argue back, yet the words stuck fast in his throat.
"It does not matter," Grey chuckled lightly. "I know you are not the real leader around here."
"Is that not right, old man?" Grey turned his eyes toward the vacant spot next to the Arbiter.
The fabric of space shimmered, unveiling an old man clad in a plain white robe. A serene smile graced his face, and his earlobes hung strikingly long.
"It sure is good to be young and bold," the old man bellowed with laughter. "You may call me the Yellow Ancestor. I am one of the many human ancestors guiding the Pan-Cosmic Human Alliance."
Somberness overtook the old man’s features. "Grey Arclight. I thank you for saving the alliance from the Great Heretic Tian Yuan and the Abyssal God."
Grey watched him quietly. This elder was a true 8th Ranker. Dense waves of time swirled around his form, convincing Grey that any time-stop power would prove utterly useless against him.
"But at the same time, you single-handedly waged war against the dragons and wiped them from the cosmos. Are you not afraid of the Dragon Ancestor’s wrath? He is one of the elite few who transcended into the higher worlds," the old man questioned, his empty eyes showing no trace of emotion.
"No," Grey grinned. "You, being an 8th Ranker, should know exactly who my grandfather is."
"Well said!" The Yellow Ancestor roared with laughter, evidently delighted. "Then, do you care to have a private discussion with me and the other ancestors? This matter heavily concerns Finality."
"You, who bears the Crown of Finality, should understand the cosmic consequences of keeping that beast by your side," the elder continued.
"I am aware," Grey responded with a subtle smile.
This invitation carried no courtesy. Though he might wish to decline and flee, Grey simply didn’t possess the power. The elder before him existed on a vastly superior plane. Grey realized he stood no chance against an 8th Ranker at present.
"We will depart right after I speak with my family," Grey declared.
The Yellow Ancestor simply nodded, unconcerned by such worldly bonds.
Grey focused on Anderson, who continued to gawk at him in stunned confusion. "Dad. I am going with the Yellow Ancestor to meet the other founders."
"I wish I could have done better by you..." Anderson whispered, letting out a deep sigh filled with remorse.
"What are you talking about?" Grey questioned, truly baffled. "What is up with all these grown men crying today?"
Anderson nearly suffocated under his guilt. This boy... his biting wit remained unchanged.
"We must have a lengthy talk after all this business is concluded," Anderson said, composing himself.
"Sure." Grey then gently updated him on matters, assuring that Alissa, Melissa, and Wang Lin remained secure in the Dragon Realm.
Anderson gave a resolute nod. "I will make the necessary travel arrangements to bring them home."
"Well then, let us head off," the Yellow Ancestor declared warmly.
He looked toward the Grand Arbiter. "Matthew, postpone the tournament for a day. Resume the matches tomorrow. The Dragon Maiden will be back by then, and the planetary atmosphere should return to normal."
With that last command, space effortlessly warped around the Yellow Ancestor and Grey, causing them to disappear from the Origin Planet.
