Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation Chapter 530: First Saber Fight

~4 minute read · 1,055 words

Cheers of encouragement echoed constantly, blending with the metallic sound of weapons clashing within the arenas. The scent of food, drinks, and dust mixed with the spiritual mist lingering over the entire complex.

Kyrian walked straight toward the board displaying the upcoming matches, a massive jade screen covered in glowing characters. His eyes quickly found his name.

Kyrian, Arena Six, Eighth Match.

He headed there immediately.

As he walked...

Something interesting happened.

Some people recognized him. First, it was a group of young cultivators who had watched his fight the previous day. Their eyes widened in recognition, and one of them pointed in Kyrian’s direction, whispering something to his companions.

"Look!"

"It’s him!"

"The lightning youth is here!"

"Kyrian is fighting again!"

The news spread rapidly through the nearby stands like wildfire. More and more spectators began making their way toward Arena Six, pushing through the crowd to secure better seats. The commotion drew the attention of people gathered around the neighboring arenas.

"Why is everyone going over there?" a gray-bearded man asked, frowning.

"Who’s fighting?" inquired his companion, a dark-haired woman.

"No idea."

"Let’s go take a look too."

Within just a few minutes...

A genuine crowd began forming around Arena Six. People of all ages and cultivation levels gathered together, eager to discover the reason behind such excitement.

Many were still enthusiastically discussing the previous day’s battle.

"His speed was unbelievable!" exclaimed a young man with sparkling eyes, gesturing excitedly.

"I couldn’t even follow that last strike!"

"The Lightning Physique is truly terrifying," his friend agreed, shaking his head in admiration.

"Watching someone move that fast is almost frightening."

"Do you think he’ll fight the same way today?" a young woman asked, her eyes fixed on the arena.

"Or will he reveal something new?"

"I hope he uses his full speed again. The sound of the lightning is truly incredible," another replied, clearly excited.

Others had never even heard of him. They simply followed the flow of people, carried along by curiosity and the desire to be part of the event. The murmuring crowd continued to grow, feeding upon its own excitement.

Before long...

Arena Six had become one of the busiest arenas in the entire complex. The crowd extended beyond the grandstands, with people standing in the corridors and stairways, all eager to witness the famous "lightning youth" in action.

Kyrian, however, seemed completely indifferent to the spectacle surrounding him. He ignored every gaze, every voice whispering his name. There was neither pride nor anxiety in his bearing. Only a profound calm, like the surface of a perfectly still lake.

He calmly stepped onto the arena, his footsteps firm and measured. The black stone beneath his feet was cold and solid, absorbing the warmth of the setting sun. His breathing remained steady, flowing in a constant rhythm. His mind was perfectly tranquil, focused solely on what was about to come.

A few minutes later...

His opponent finally appeared.

He was a rather short young man, standing just over five feet tall. His body, however, was extraordinarily robust, a mass of well-defined muscles shifting beneath his simple cotton clothes. His arms were as thick as the trunks of young trees, and his legs looked capable of supporting the weight of a spiritual elephant.

Strapped to his back was an enormous double-bladed axe, each blade nearly a meter long. The weapon was almost as large as he was, its surface covered with ancient runes that emitted a faint crimson glow. Even so, he carried it without the slightest sign of effort, as though it weighed less than a feather.

His name was Bao Ren, and his reputation preceded him. Known as the "Iron Demon" within combat circles, he was famous for his overwhelming brute strength and superhuman endurance. It was said that he could shatter mountains with his strikes and withstand attacks that would kill any other cultivator of the same realm.

The moment he reached the center of the arena, Bao Ren cast a careful look toward Kyrian. His small, deep-set eyes evaluated his opponent with the precision of a seasoned hunter. There was something primal about his stance, a beast-like readiness that made the hairs on the back of one’s neck stand on end.

The two remained silent, studying one another. The air between them seemed charged with static electricity.

Shortly afterward...

The judge stepped toward the two competitors, his white robe fluttering with his movement. He was a middle-aged man with graying hair and a scar running across his face, a silent testament to countless battles.

His firm voice echoed throughout the arena, cutting through the tense silence.

"Kyrian."

"..."

"Bao Ren."

"Prepare yourselves."

The two took several steps backward, creating distance between one another. The sound of their feet striking the stone was the only noise amid the silence that had fallen over the grandstands.

Even the spectators who were still arriving held their breath, their eyes locked on the scene below. The air was heavy with anticipation, as though even the heavens were watching.

The judge slowly raised his arm, his open hand pointing toward the sky.

"Begin!"

At that very instant...

Kyrian reached toward his spatial ring. A blue glow flowed across the artifact, and a wave of energy rippled over its surface.

A moment later...

A saber appeared in his hand.

Its blade was long and curved, forged from a dark metal that reflected the sunlight like a polished mirror. Tiny strands of violet lightning silently coursed along its surface, leaving trails of dancing light behind them. The hilt was wrapped in the hide of a spiritual beast, carefully crafted to fit Kyrian’s hand perfectly.

The weapon seemed alive, pulsing with an energy that resonated in perfect harmony with his own Qi.

Kyrian looked at the weapon for a brief moment, his fingers settling around the hilt with a familiarity that transcended time. A faint smile appeared on his face, one of quiet satisfaction.

Finally...

This would be his first battle using a saber.

The crowd erupted into thunderous cheers. Bets were placed frantically. The air itself seemed to tremble with the energy of the moment.

Kyrian raised his saber, pointing its blade toward Bao Ren.

The battle was about to begin.
