A year after the mass transformation of vampires into humans, the world has entered a period of stability and reconstruction. While society continues to adapt, human and former vampire populations have largely integrated, and Earth is undergoing significant technological restoration. Amid this newfound peace, Quinn and his family arrive at a gathering to celebrate Peter and Lucia, who are expecting a child. This reunion brings together long-time allies to mark a new chapter in their lives.

Within the expansive manor stood a vast entertainment wing, equipped with a bar, a billiard table, and floor-to-ceiling windows that flooded the space with brilliant light. These doors swung outward, granting access to a patio that transitioned seamlessly into a lush garden.

Abundant seating was scattered throughout the area. No sooner had Quinn stepped inside than he was swarmed by partygoers eager for his attention. He moved among them effortlessly, greeting various acquaintances he had cultivated relationships with from across the globe.

After offering his final pleasantries, he decided to retreat into the warm sunlight, shielding his eyes with a slight gesture of his hand.

"It’s surreal to think how much time has passed since that first message popped up on the system, right before I caught that bus," Quinn mused to himself.

He claimed a few vacant chairs for himself. He had only just settled in when a small group approached him.

"You wouldn't mind if we joined you, would you?" inquired a blond, middle-aged man who appeared to be in his thirties. He held a glass, accompanied by several others.

Soon, Sil, Shiro, Logan, and Chris had taken their seats, and eventually, Peter managed to slip away from the crowd to join the assembly.

As for Shiro, a subtle shift occurred as he swapped control of his host body, with Vorden now taking the helm.

"It has been a full year without a single incident," Vorden remarked, raising his glass. "I believe a toast to Quinn is in order!"

The others readily agreed, and Quinn raised his own glass to join the sentiment.

"Has an entire year truly flown by?" Peter asked. "Time is moving at an alarming pace. Back in my days as a Whyte, I felt as though time stood frozen at times."

"Naturally, time feels faster for all of us now," Logan observed. "We have survived for thousands of years beyond our natural span."

"But this is our first chance to truly savor these moments together," Chris added. "In the past, we were perpetually preoccupied with vampire unrest, Pure’s power struggles, and the corruption within the old military."

"Indeed, we owe much to Truedream," Quinn acknowledged. "Though you’ve overlooked the Dalki, who were also a monumental threat."

Their observations were accurate. Earth had reached a state of peace unprecedented in its history. Humanity was busy with reconstruction, and the blatant abuse of power had largely vanished. While minor crimes occasionally surfaced, they were trivial and swiftly addressed.

"The Celestials seem to have honored their word; they haven’t disturbed us, and it appears they have no motive to do so. Finally, I can permit myself to relax," Quinn stated.

The group felt a genuine sense of relief for him. He had endured immense hardship, as had they all, and they had suffered grievous losses along the way—departed friends who must never be forgotten.

Arthur, Helen, Richard, and countless others. In a sense, Quinn was grateful for Immortui’s final actions, as they provided the closure and the opportunity to bid his final farewells.

"Even though I didn't get a look at Helen, I felt her presence there as well," Quinn reflected.

The friends continued to share memories and discuss their future plans. Most of them resided nearby and saw each other frequently, using their time together to reminisce about the old days.

Yet, they realized that as they focused more on their growing families, gathering would become a rarer luxury. Eventually, the party began to wind down, prompting Logan to steer the conversation elsewhere.

"I have an important announcement," Logan declared. "I’ve been developing an advanced AI designed to oversee Green City and optimize its growth. As it continues to learn, it should be fully operational in the near future. Effectively, it will be capable of performing all the duties I currently handle as mayor."

"You ought to be careful," Vorden quipped. "Build a machine that competent, and you’ll find yourself unemployed."

"That is precisely the goal," Logan replied. "Vicky and I have lived a long, fulfilling life, but eventually, we will choose to move on. We have experienced all we could and accomplished everything necessary."

The atmosphere turned somber following this admission, though it made perfect sense to them. Logan had lived for a millennium, much like Quinn and Peter during their long entrapment.

Sil, too, shared this outlook. Following the battle with Immortui, he surrendered his powers and chose not to pursue their return. Instead, Sil desired the natural human experience: to age and to reach a definitive end.

It was an unusual sentiment, but having witnessed the permanence of immortality, Sil longed to experience the grace of mortality rather than forever shielding the world from every new threat. Surely, others would eventually rise to take their place.

Peter felt the same, no longer tethered to his Whyte past, he was dedicated to cherishing every moment with his family. As these thoughts turned over in his mind, Quinn cast a glance toward his own family—Layla, Minny, and Galen.

Over the last year, he had witnessed undeniable changes in all of them, yet within himself, he remained completely unchanged—not a single thing about him had evolved.

"I am... fundamentally different from the others."
