My Ultimate Sign-in System Made Me Invincible Chapter 720 Exposing The Groups Behind It (3)

Inside the New York studio, the anchor took over the broadcast. He sat upright with a grim expression on his face. A technology analyst sat beside him.
This analyst had spent the last few months explaining Nova Technologies to a public that couldn't keep up with the rapid advancements. She now looked like the technology had finally outrun her comprehension entirely. Yes, the analyst was Sarah Chen.
"Help people understand what they just watched," the anchor said.
"I've been trying to process it for the last ten minutes," the analyst admitted. "I'm not sure I can fully explain it. Let me start with the thing everyone is feeling but not saying. This isn't really a kidnapping story. A kidnapping story is horrible, but it is small. This is the moment the global fight over the nanites stopped being an argument on the internet. It became something powerful people were willing to cut a child open for."
"You're connecting this to the medical access debate," the anchor noted.
"It is the access debate," the analyst replied. "Think about where the world has been for the past month. Nova Technologies cures everything. The cure is coming. It is coming soon, and it is tiered. Half the world is furious that the cure has a price attached to it. What this video shows is the ugliest possible answer to that fury. When a miracle exists and you can't have it, some people beg. Some people wait in line. And some people hire a mercenary team to take a nine-year-old child out of her bed. They try to carve the cure out of her spine to sell it to the highest bidder."
The analyst pointed a finger at the wooden desk.
"This isn't a fringe group of criminals," she continued. "The names in that video are not street thugs. That is a global financier. That is a biotech executive. Those are the kinds of people who have massive resources. This is what they chose to do with their money and power."
The anchor let her words sit in the air for a moment. He then guided the conversation to the next crucial point.
"Then there is the other part of the video," the anchor said. "The part people are more afraid to say out loud."
"Yes," the analyst agreed. She didn't flinch from the topic. "How did Nova Technologies get this footage? That is the real question underneath all the relief. To make that video, Nova had to be inside those highly encrypted calls. They bypassed military-grade security like it didn't exist. They had to be inside those secure corporate boardrooms. They were watching that house in Guatemala. They were watching that facility on a hidden island in another country. Nova saw the entire conspiracy form from the very first meeting to the operating table with the wires on it. They filmed all of it. No one knew they were watching."
The analyst leaned forward in her chair.
"And then," she said, "Nova reached into a locked, guarded facility. They took a child out of it by means they will not describe. They bypassed guards and doctors. They returned her to her home without a scratch."
"That is a rescue operation," the anchor stated.
"It is a rescue," the analyst confirmed. "Today it is a rescue, and I'm thankful it was. I truly mean that."
She folded her hands on the desk.
"But understand what Nova just demonstrated to every government and every person on Earth," she said. "Nova can see a plot forming anywhere in the world. They can watch you in a room you believe is completely secure. They can watch you in a country you believe is beyond their reach. They can gather perfect, unanswerable proof of your actions. And they can act physically. They can extract a human being from a guarded bunker. Then they can hand the whole thing to the public and simply let the consequences fall."
The analyst looked directly at the camera.
"Nova didn't arrest anyone," she continued. "They didn't harm anyone, as far as we can tell. They did something that is more total than violence or legal action. They showed everyone. There is no court, no intelligence agency, and no government on this planet that authorized any of this. And none of them could have stopped it."
"So which is it?" the anchor asked. "Is this the thing that saved that little girl, or the thing that should frighten us?"
"It is both," the analyst said quietly. "That is what people are going to have the hardest time holding in their minds. The same power that pulled a cured child off a torture table is a power that answers to no one. It watches everywhere. Today it protected the most innocent person imaginable. In the same breath, it reminded all of us that it could do this to anyone. It can do this for any reason it chooses. We would only ever know if Nova decided we should know."
The broadcast didn't have to predict what would come next. The consequences were already beginning to unfold in real-time.
Even as the analyst spoke, the news ticker beneath them started to scroll with breaking updates.
Global banks froze the offshore accounts shown in the video. A massive charitable foundation suspended its chairman effective immediately.
A major biotech firm's stock went into freefall before the market had even properly opened for the day. Law enforcement agencies in four different countries confirmed they were acting on the released material. The names exposed in the video were sinking one by one.
The entity that had made the video had calculated the exact outcome. Every person involved in the conspiracy would be in the mud by nightfall. Nova Technologies had ruined them all without touching a single person. They used the absolute truth as a weapon.
In Washington, the President of the United States sat behind her large desk in the Oval Office. The room felt incredibly small today. The morning sun shined through the bulletproof windows, casting long shadows across the carpet.
The broadcast continued on the muted flat screen across the room. She watched the ticker scroll with the names of powerful men she had met at fundraisers and state dinners. Now they were ruined.
She sighed and turned to Calloway, who was seated opposite her.
"They are showing their powers," she said.
"Yeah, they are. You can't exactly blame them. They did give ample warning in their announcement. This is just stupidity on the perpetrator's part," Calloway said.
"They probably thought Nova Technologies can't do anything on earth. But yes, it was stupid. Though it's a good thing. The rest of the world now understand the kind of power Nova Technologies has."
"If only they know the kind of power its owner has."
"Tell me about it,"President Marsh sighed. "But I'm sure you understand what to do. We have to make sure those people are served tons of consecutives sentences and are sent away for life. Or at least, a very long time."
"Yes, Madam President."
