After completing a powerful trial, the protagonist is contacted by Leon Starc, who is trapped in the occupied city of Ture and under siege by a cult. To reach him quickly, the protagonist ventures into the forest to acquire a mount, defeating various monsters before taming a monster horse. They then race towards Ture, bypassing an uncorrupted city and an occupied safe zone.

As I drew nearer, a peculiar observation struck me. It wasn't merely the sheer scale of the city that was unusual, but rather its complete encasement.

A somber, grey dome encompassed the entire urban expanse. Unlike the shimmering believer shields previously encountered, this one appeared dense, almost tangible. I eased the horse to a halt, navigating the perimeter at a cautious distance, all the while seeking any potential ingress into the city.

However, no such opening presented itself. The dome was utterly seamless.

Guiding the horse onward along the periphery, the terrain began to ascend sharply. A rocky incline materialized, culminating in a cliff face that offered a commanding view over a portion of the city. Without a second thought, I dismounted and began to climb, my fingers finding purchase on the rugged stone, hauling myself upward until I reached the summit.

From this vantage point, the interior became visible. Figures moved within the city, but they were not human.

They were beings of distinct races. The first detail I registered was their extraordinary height—eight, nine, some even nearing ten feet tall. Their frames were slender to an almost unnatural degree, and their skin possessed a subtle bluish hue that was discernible even from this distance. Their eyes, a striking emerald green, emitted a faint luminescence, visible even from my elevated position. Each one was clad in long, black robes that cascaded with their movements, concealing the majority of their forms and lending them a uniform, almost ceremonial appearance.

Their numbers were substantial, far exceeding the population I had observed in Seum. And not a single one appeared to be weak.

My gaze narrowed slightly as I surveyed the city. Patrols were evident, moving in clusters and groups, while others remained stationary at intersections. A significant number were inside the central structure, with two sentinels posted outside its entrance. The prison remained elusive, as many of the administrative buildings bore a similar appearance to my eyes. Consequently, I resolved to breach the shield directly. I understood this action would undoubtedly alert everyone, but no alternative presented itself. This necessitated creating an opening.

Descending from the cliff, I returned towards the dome, circling once more until I identified a sector where buildings were densely packed, streets were narrower, and patrols were notably distant.

"This should suffice," I murmured, stepping back slightly and tightening my grip on the axe.

"Berserk Mode."

The surge struck instantaneously, energy coursing through my being, heightening all senses as my muscles tensed. I adopted a lower stance, my gaze fixed upon the shield.

Then, I invoked a skill I had never before utilized.

"Limitless."

[Limitless 1 (Active) : Releases all stored internal energy in a single moment. The chosen action is pushed beyond its normal limit, greatly increasing its force, speed, and penetration. Consumes stored energy completely upon activation]

Every iota of stored energy within my body propelled forward simultaneously, flooding into the axe, overwhelming the blade in a violent torrent that refused to be contained. The yellow luminescence intensified, growing thick and dense, enveloping the edge, followed by crackling lightning that snapped outward in jagged arcs before being drawn back in.

The pressure escalated rapidly, even for me to manage. The air surrounding the blade distorted, the energy coalescing into something far more potent than any I had wielded previously.

I could not delay. Action was necessary. My body launched upward in a powerful leap, the force propelling me high enough to clear the dome's exterior height. My axe was already raised overhead as the energy reached its zenith. Then, I brought it crashing down. The blade impacted the shield.

BOOM!!

The instant of contact unleashed a violent discharge. The condensed energy erupted all at once, the yellow glow and lightning violently rending outward from the point of impact. The grey dome shuddered, its surface fracturing in a circular pattern as the force penetrated it.

For a fleeting moment, it resisted. Then, it gave way.

The barrier disintegrated at the point of impact, the energy carving a passage large enough for my entry as the shockwave propagated across the surface, rippling outward through the entire dome.

I descended, plunging directly into the city. I did not pause to observe.

"Radiant Drive."

The energy surged once more, not with the same heavy force as before, but with swiftness, propelling me forward in a sustained burst. I streaked through the nearest street, then another, and another, executing turns without decelerating, placing distance between myself and my point of entry.

Three streets in, I halted.

I slipped into a nearby structure, forcing the door and ascending rapidly. Taking the stairs to the uppermost floor, I positioned myself in a shadowed alcove.

Then, I became utterly still, my breath held captive, not by volition but because my body refused to cooperate. The toll from Limitless manifested all at once, my muscles seizing and spasming as though pushed far beyond their capacity. I remained immobile, my back pressed against the wall, axe still clutched in my hand, awaiting the tremors to subside.

Time seemed to crawl. Yet, outside, the quiet did not last.

Instantly, sounds of alarm and commotion surged through the city, a clear sign that my infiltration had been detected.

After nearly ten minutes, the intense pressure subsided, allowing me to move. My breathing gradually normalized, my grip firmed, and then I cautiously rose from my hiding spot against the wall. Sliding towards the window, I peered out, obtaining a view without revealing my position.

The sight that greeted me was unexpected. Suspended in the air at the city's core, far above the ground, a figure remained seated in a cross-legged posture.

Although distant, the individual was clearly discernible. Clad in the same somber black robes as the others, their aura radiated a distinct difference. A hand was subtly elevated, fingers performing minute, deliberate gestures as if sketching unseen patterns in the void.

Then, a pointed finger unleashed a dark ripple. It propagated outward from the figure instantaneously, an expanding wave that traversed the urban landscape in every direction. Buildings, streets, and all elements in its course were permeated without impediment.

My eyes snapped wide open.

"Impossible..." I whispered, already descending from the window. I pressed myself flat against the floor, seeking concealment.

Because I understood. I recognized the nature of that phenomenon. The ripple reached my location, penetrating the wall before halting abruptly.

Precisely there.

For a fleeting moment, it seemed to pause, as if verifying its target.

Then, it erupted. The ceiling directly above me disintegrated, wood and debris violently scattering as dark energy engulfed the space. This energy, resembling smoke yet possessing tangible weight and density, consumed all it encountered. The concussive force reverberated through the structure, violently shaking the entire building as fragments rained down around me.

Amidst the deafening explosion, I suddenly heard calls.

"We've found him!"

A voice, sharp and distinct, pierced through the chaos, carried across the thoroughfares.

"On the northern edge of the city!"
