My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 913 The Bird, The Elf, and The Headache
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
[Somewhere on a Feran planet]
Ragnar advanced with bold, lengthy strides, his enormous build gliding swiftly along the passageway. Though he moved fast, the pair of Ferans trailing him labored to match his speed, their brief legs pattering frantically to remain nearby.
"Lord General, we're so grateful for your aid in sealing the rift," one gasped out. Resembling a peculiar blend of human and rabbit, his lengthy ears flicked as he talked. "We dispatched countless pleas to Ferados for reinforcements, yet none arrived. In just two more years, the Eternals would have eradicated us entirely."
A booming laugh erupted from Ragnar, reverberating down the corridor.
"Hahaha, relax, kid. Soon there won't be any Eternals left to trouble you," he declared, clapping a firm hand on the shoulder of the Feran who stood scarcely five feet high.
"Yes, yes, it's all because of the Order of Absolute," the Feran pressed on enthusiastically. "Word of your exploits over these last four days is racing across everywhere."
"Naturally," Ragnar shot back, flashing a broad smile. "Nobody else possesses the courage to tackle what we're handling."
He halted before a grand entrance, cocking his head a bit.
"This the guest quarters?" he inquired.
"Indeed, my lord," answered the other Feran, who had avian traits, without delay. "We've set up everything you asked for. Meals, beverages, and hot water await."
"Excellent, birdie," Ragnar approved. "You're way quicker than folks on that previous Feran world I hit. Now, about my extra demand?"
"We're taking care of that too, my lord," the avian Feran assured with a deep bow. "A bronze statue modeled after you will rise in the capital's heart in under a week."
Ragnar's smile stretched even broader.
"Perfect."
He shoved the door wide and entered.
"Catch you later."
The door shut after him. Once solitary, his face altered subtly. He didn't hesitate, flicking his wrist to summon a violet token into his grasp, which he promptly shattered.
A tiny portal materialized, no bigger than his palm.
Vivi emerged from it in flight.
"Ohh, Ragnar's back," she chirped in a gentle, lively tone.
Ragnar grinned slyly.
"Hey Vivi, how goes your eating binge?"
"It's fine," she answered. "A bit of stomach trouble, but I can manage."
"Great," Ragnar noted. "Time to get started."
Rather than budge, Vivi drifted nearer to his visage, her gaze sharpening with intrigue.
"Don't say… you still haven't hunted for the core."
Ragnar exhaled heavily.
"Fine, truth time. Locating those world cores gives me migraines every attempt. You'll need to cover that duty."
Vivi fell utterly quiet. She floated before him, locking eyes unblinkingly.
Then her voice turned sugary.
"You know what, Ragnar?"
"What?"
"You are dumb."
Ragnar blinked in surprise.
"You are so dumb that you can't even do something this simple."
"Vivi, you don't—"
"No, mister," she interrupted firmly. "You don't get to call me Vivi anymore. Henceforth, address me as Lady Vivi. Or else, my standing crumbles if word spreads that a guy like you uses my name casually."
Ragnar parted his lips, then snapped them shut, evidently stunned.
"Vivi—"
"Lady Vivi," she snapped back at once. "You know what? I ought to return and spill it all to Billion."
She wheeled around, heading for the diminutive portal. Ragnar lunged swiftly, cutting off her route.
"Hold on, hold on—Lady Vivi, where to?" he urged hastily. "You're here now, so why not finish the job."
"Ohh? Ordering me around now?" she queried, angling her head.
"Order? Never," Ragnar backpedaled fast. "It's just a plea. Kindly seize this planet's world core."
Vivi lingered mid-air momentarily, scrutinizing him.
Then she let out a sigh.
"Fine."
Her eyes shut for a second. Upon reopening, they shimmered softly.
"Found it," she announced. "I'm claiming it."
Instantly, violet flames engulfed her, and she disappeared. Silence enveloped the chamber.
Ragnar released a deep breath.
"Damn it," he grumbled. "Billion nailed it. Her head's messing up."
Right away, he broadcast a warning via their communal bond to every summon and me.
"Vivi is spiraling. I repeat, Vivi is spiraling. Proceed with caution."
Replies flooded in without pause.
"I knew it."
"Told you."
"She's just a child."
At that moment, Vivi materialized within the pocket space.
There hovered the world core, round and radiating a faint light, rotating steadily on its axis. As soon as it detected her arrival, a slight quiver ran through it.
"Aww, don't be afraid, my little one," Vivi cooed softly. "Mumma's here now."
Once more, her head ballooned to an enormous size; she parted her jaws wide and engulfed the core effortlessly. Afterward, she drifted motionless, absorbed in the process of assimilation.
Moments ticked by.
After almost thirty minutes, Vivi reemerged in Ragnar's chamber.
Ragnar remained rooted in his spot, unmoving.
"I've finished," she announced right upon appearing. "Full digestion will still require some time, though. Oh, and it was a feeble core anyway. Thanks a lot for squandering my time."
Without waiting for his reply, she spun around and darted back through the portal. Ragnar lingered in silence for several seconds before waving his hand to seal it shut.
Gradually, a sly grin crept across his features.
"Ahh… at last," he whispered.
Cracking his knuckles, he pivoted toward the enormous feast-laden dining table.
"No worries, little one," he chuckled. "After this mission wraps up… Uncle Ragnar will school you in proper etiquette."
With those words, he took his seat and began devouring the meal.

Far across the cosmos on a distant world, Lyrate lounged in a plush recliner, legs elegantly crossed. Mere steps ahead, a petite portal whirled silently midair, its subtle luminescence scattering gentle glimmers throughout the chamber.
She had waited patiently for some time.
Her fingertips drummed a leisurely beat on the armrest, the sole noise piercing the hushed atmosphere. Nearby drapes swayed lightly by the window, yet their motion felt subdued, as though the very room hesitated to interrupt her peace.
Almost twenty minutes had elapsed since the portal's activation.
"Where have you hidden, birdie?" Lyrate whispered, her stare glued to the vortex.
Ten more minutes dragged on, until Vivi burst forth. Instantly upon exiting, her eyes fastened on Lyrate.
Lyrate's gaze clashed with hers.
Not one blinked.
"Vivi," Lyrate uttered evenly.
"Lyrate," Vivi shot back.
Quietness descended.
A thick, tense hush stretched between them, neither yielding a fraction. The curtains' subtle sway appeared to decelerate even more.
"I've pinpointed the world core's location already," Lyrate declared at last, her voice nonchalant and faintly scornful.
"I'll locate it on my own," Vivi retorted without delay.
In a flash, before more could be uttered, she disappeared amid a flare of fire.
Lyrate's tapping fingers halted abruptly. A faint smirk curled her mouth.
"Such a haughty bird," she breathed quietly.
In the pocket space, Vivi suddenly appeared once again.
The world core drifted right in front of her. This time, however, she held back from lunging.
She suspended herself nearby, gazing intently at it.
"Soon enough, Lyrate… very soon," she grumbled.
Abruptly, a peculiar, downright sinister cackle escaped her.
"Hihihihi—"
"Vivi."
My voice pierced her thoughts without warning.
"Whoa—" She jolted in shock.
"Vivi," I stated steadily, "Vaythos and Abor have just suffered slight tremors."
She went rigid.
"Try reining in your feelings somewhat?"
"Yes, yes, I'm on it," she answered hastily, a hint of irritation in her voice while she composed herself.
The ripples emanating from her calmed down. A soft laugh escaped me.
"Where on earth did you pick up that wicked cackle?" I inquired. "And… what's your beef with Lyrate?"
A brief silence ensued.
"Billion… are you peeking into my mind now?" she queried warily, inching toward the world core.
"I'd rather not," I answered, entertained, "but you're beaming them straight to me whenever you let your guard down. You realize that, don't you?"
"Baaah," she huffed in obvious frustration, looping around the core in tiny orbits.
A subtle smile touched my lips.
"No big deal," I assured her. "Before long, you'll possess your very own form. You could even sport red eyes like Lyrate's if that's your fancy. No reason to bicker with her over it."
"What? Who claimed I crave red eyes?" she fired back sharply.
"Nobody claimed anything," I responded coolly. "It's merely what's running through your head."
"Proof! You're scanning my thoughts!"
"I'm not."
"Liar."
I let out a chuckle.
Before my next words could form, she plunged ahead and gulped down the entire world core.
