My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 821 Surrounded In A Dome
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
The heavy silence enveloping the field, interrupted solely by the piercing wail of alarms, weighed down oppressively on me. I struggled to pinpoint what disturbed them the most—the abrupt arrival of an outsider among them, the three restrained Upper Transcendents floating behind me, or my calm stance as their defenses sprang to life. Perhaps my reputation had preceded my arrival in this realm.
Before I managed to delve deeper into my thoughts, a dome-shaped shield enveloped me.
It materialized in an instant from the earth below, a thick gray barrier constructed purely from stabilized deathmist. As soon as it closed overhead, the mounted armaments redirected their targeting systems to its exterior rather than at me directly.
I stayed rooted in place, my senses stretching further out past the dome's boundaries. The deeper my observation went, the graver my face grew.
This wasn't some concealed advance post.
It wasn't a brief takeover.
It was a thriving society. Phantoms moved freely along the avenues, their bodies infused with deathmist. I detected Eternals too, their presences distinct even when tempered.
If anything, this realm seemed affluent.
Thus, I bided my time.
'Is this your headquarters?' I inquired of the Feran.
She emitted a weak, forced laugh amid her wounds and bindings.
'Yes,' she answered, her voice forcing through clenched teeth. 'Surprised, right? You can kiss your escape goodbye.'
Rage flared openly in her stare, yet underneath lurked something more—a conviction that my end was near.
I chose not to reply to her anymore. Instead, I raised my eyes.
A few silhouettes had positioned themselves atop the gray dome, lingering just outside its edge. They watched me without urgency.
At the forefront stood an aged Naga male. Years etched wrinkles near his eyes and dulled his scales, which covered his face densely and trailed down his throat, but no frailty marked him. His level reached 499.
To his right levitated a Naga female in a sleek, blank mask hiding all but her gaze. Her stance remained rigid, controlled.
Nearby loomed a towering insectoid entity, its armored appendages tucked orderly, numerous eyes locked on me unblinking.
On the opposite flank drifted a woman from the Aqua species, her bottom half a graceful mermaid tail that undulated smoothly in mid-air, upheld by delicate law control.
Next to them positioned three Eternals.
Yet my focus snapped right to the masked Naga female.
Her aura.
I recognized it from earlier.
'Igza Nag,' I stated, letting a subtle grin appear. 'Who could've guessed I'd encounter you in this place.'
She was the very Naga who had presented herself to me during the Feran assembly. At that point, she seemed minor, a weak figure overshadowed by greater figures. Now she ranked with Upper Transcendents, her level nearing the upper four hundreds, her demeanor utterly transformed from my memory.
For several moments, silence reigned.
Then she raised her hand. The shrill alarms ceased abruptly. With composed ease, she lifted and took off the mask.
It was indeed Igza.
'We cross paths once more, Billion Ironhart,' she declared, her tone even, laced with light humor. 'I recall warning you our destinies would intersect again.'
I nodded faintly.
'Indeed, you warned me,' I responded. 'Sorry for dismissing you back then.'
'I notice you've harmed our allies quite badly,' Igza observed coolly, although her glance darted briefly to the three captive forms trailing me. 'That's hardly fitting behavior for someone of your stature. Does the Order of Absolute intend to wage war on Hollow Star?'
'War?' I echoed, stroking my chin as if truly pondering the notion. 'Against you? No. You're not significant enough yet for my group to issue an official challenge. I arrived solo.'
Her grin faded. She held back her retort for a beat. Meanwhile, the senior Naga male next to her advanced a step. He donned dark robes draping weightily over his build, with a dark blade sheathed at his hip.
'Mr. Billion,' he started in a deliberate voice, 'you've let me down. You hold vast promise, but you've picked a route clashing with ours.' His stare held steady on mine. 'I'll make this proposal just once. Join Hollow Star.'
'No,' I rejected promptly.
He showed no visible change, though a keen edge entered his look.
'Are you sure?' he pressed. 'We've done our homework. We understand you better than you realize. Does Vaythos ring any bells?'
My eyes tightened a fraction.
I'd long anticipated that eventually, somebody would link back to my roots. I just hadn't foreseen it occurring so soon.
He pressed on, his speech calm, nearly casual.
'For now, that realm stays whole, calm and flourishing.' His gaze grew firmer. 'But that status can shift. It all hinges on your decision right here.'
'Well, I fail to see how intimidating me sways me to your side, but fine,' I remarked casually. 'I was hunting your stronghold, and it seems I've found it. So let's get started.'
I raised my foot and struck the earth once.
Every silhouette above the dome stiffened at once, their focus intensifying as they braced for the initial assault.
I merely grinned.
In the following instant, the terrain under us quaked.
This wasn't a barren expanse soaked in deathmist, demanding vigilant purging for each step. This was a vibrant domain, rich with raw Essence coursing via its dirt, its skies, its energy pathways. It throbbed softly underfoot, overlooked by the majority.
Essence forever heeds intent. And it heeded mine with exceptional swiftness. I refrained from ripping into the dome barrier outright. I skipped striking the airborne group initially.
Rather, I projected my intent into the soil itself.
Fissures radiated from my foot's contact point, spreading across the turf and earth in broadening circles. They didn't halt at the gray dome's rim. The deathmist wall wavered as the splits ran underneath, since I wasn't assaulting the barrier. I was directing the bedrock supporting it.
The Essence woven into the terrain altered.
Subtly at the outset.
Then inescapably. The surface warped faintly. Power conduits below the settlement shuddered as the innate Essence currents realigned to my orders.
I issued a straightforward command.
React.
And the realm complied.
From those splits, verdant Essence started ascending.
It gushed skyward in robust surges, compact and radiant, akin to an oceanic rush emerging from the globe's arteries. Close by, the earth parted and massive spires of jade glow burst forth, swirling and cresting like animated waves. The dome barrier sputtered wildly as the Essence amassed below, straining against its foundation from all sides.
Beyond the dome, the event widened.
Over the vast meadows, lime streams exploded upward in repeated bursts. Deeper in, past the close borders, the same rush coursed through the urban core. Essence poured up amid structures, across roads, alongside utility networks.
The atmosphere thickened as the concentration mounted. Even residents who had withdrawn to secure spots halted in shock as the ground they occupied heeded an alien will.
The elder Naga's poise at last shattered.
'How can this be…' he whispered, scales clenching along his chin.
His eyes darted to the rest.
'Strike immediately!'
The devices aimed at me reacted first. Their hearts blazed as Essence inundated their launch mechanisms, the drone escalating before release.
The stone Elemental trailing me cried out in panic.
'No!'
But Hollow Star showed no mercy on that account. The armaments kept their paths unaltered to protect their own.
Fourteen rays launched together from all angles, merging toward the dome's heart where I positioned with the three restrained Upper Transcendents.
