My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 1302: A Life Of Her Own
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
I finished explaining everything I had seen to Lyrate, including the dead expanse, the enormous palace, the emblem of gears carved into its gates, and those terrifying orange eyes that had appeared above it. She remained silent for a while, her expression thoughtful as she tried to make sense of what I had described.
"So, you have no idea where this place actually is?" she finally asked.
I shook my head.
"Not yet. The All-Knowing Eyes didn’t give me a location, only the vision itself. Wherever it is, it isn’t inside the Prime Universe. But I can suddenly feel a connection to that place and its coming from the generator core."
"And you think it has something to do with the Generator?"
"The emblem was identical to the one on my chest. I can’t call that a coincidence."
Lyrate nodded slowly.
"I agree. But that still leaves us with the more important question. What exactly is inside those ruins?"
"That is what worries me." I leaned back slightly, replaying the final moment of the vision in my mind. "The palace itself was already strange enough, but whatever opened those eyes was powerful. Even through the vision, I could feel its presence."
"Could it have been the owner of the ruins?"
"Possibly. We need to find that place, but blindly tearing through universes looking for it would be pointless. The All-Knowing Eyes showed it to me for a reason, so I’ll ask again, but carefully."
"And if the answer costs you another portion of your soul force?"
"Then I’ll pay the price."
Lyrate frowned. "You really are planning to walk straight into those ruins, aren’t you?"
I looked at her and smiled.
"If the Generator brought me this far, I’m not going to stop just because its origin happens to be terrifying."
After that, I used the All-Knowing Eyes three more times, carefully refining my questions each time to narrow down the location of the palace. I avoided asking anything about its history or the identity of whatever had been inside it; after what I had just experienced, I wasn’t willing to risk wasting another opportunity on questions the Eyes might refuse to answer.
Each vision revealed another fragment of its location, and by piecing them together, I finally obtained a clear direction.
The palace was far beyond the borders of the Prime Universe, separated from it by an enormous stretch of empty space. It wasn’t hidden within another universe either, but existed in that strange dead zone I had glimpsed earlier, where almost nothing seemed to survive.
Even with my current strength, reaching it would not be quick. If I travelled at my maximum speed without stopping, it would still take nearly a week to cover the distance.
I looked toward Lyrate.
"Well, I suppose that settles it."
She raised an eyebrow. "We’re going?"
I nodded.
"We have no other choice. Whatever that place is, it is connected to the Generator, and if I want to evolve it, I need to find out why."
Lyrate sighed, though a faint smile appeared on her face. I stood up and stretched my hand toward the void.
"Then let’s go find out what is waiting for us."
******
I raised my hand, and the space before us immediately began to tremble. Violet light gathered around my palm, intertwining with strands of silver-white space and pure radiance until an enormous silhouette emerged from the void.
A phoenix.
Its body was formed from condensed Space and Light, giving its feathers a translucent violet brilliance, as though every feather contained a fragment of a distant galaxy. Long plumes flowed behind its wings like trails of starlight, while its enormous wings stretched outward and seemed capable of covering a small world.
Its eyes burned with a quiet violet-gold radiance, and every movement of its body caused the surrounding space to ripple. It did not flap its wings so much as command the void to move around it.
Lyrate and I stepped onto its back, settling between the layers of luminous feathers.
The moment I gave the command, the phoenix spread its wings.
Space shattered.
With a thunderous surge, it shot forward, tearing open a passage through the void and carrying us toward the distant edge of the Prime Universe. The stars became streaks of light around us as the phoenix accelerated, its body leaving behind a vast violet trail that slowly faded into darkness.
For several minutes, neither of us spoke. Then Lyrate suddenly broke the silence.
"You know, there’s something I need to tell you."
I turned toward her, surprised by the seriousness in her voice.
"What is it?"
She hesitated before looking away, her long red hair fluttering gently in the violent currents of space. The violet light from the phoenix reflected in her red eyes, making them appear almost luminous.
"I want you to reach the next realm."
I smiled faintly. "That’s what we’re trying to do."
"No." She shook her head. "I mean... I really want you to succeed."
Her voice softened.
"Because I believe that if you become a God, you might finally be able to give us something we have never truly had."
I remained silent.
"A real life," she whispered.
Her fingers tightened against the phoenix’s feathers.
"I’m grateful for everything you have given me. I don’t hate being your summon, and I’m not saying any of this because I’m unhappy with you. You’ve treated us better than anyone could have asked for." She finally looked at me, her eyes slightly moist. "But somewhere inside me, I still want to know what it feels like to live because I chose to, not because you summoned me."
I stared at her. Lyrate gave a small, embarrassed smile.
"Maybe it’s selfish. I’m sorry."
I shook my head.
"You don’t need to apologize for wanting your own life."
Her expression softened.
"And that’s why I want you to reach Godhood. Not just for the war. Not just for yourself. I want to see what lies beyond being someone’s summon."
For a moment, I simply watched her as the enormous phoenix carried us deeper into the endless void.
Then I smiled.
"Then I have one more reason to reach it."
She blinked.
"I have no problem with your wish," I continued, "and I will be happy for you."
Her eyes glistened.
And beneath the endless darkness of space, with violet light illuminating her face, Lyrate finally smiled.
