I interrupted Steve's boastful story to the demon and Feran women by transforming into a powerful demon and challenging him. Steve initially refused to fight, citing the city's laws against combat and his desire to finish his meal. However, when I insulted the Order of Absolute, he agreed to a fight outside the city. He easily captured me and dragged me to a crater outside the city before I unleashed a devastating fiery punch, which he met with a flurry of sword strikes.

The flames continued forward, forcing him to vanish in an explosion of black lightning just before my fist could reach his chest. I immediately looked upward and found him already above me, his sword descending toward my head with enough force to split the earth beneath us.

Rather than dodge, I raised my face and released a thunderous roar, causing a pillar of blazing fire to erupt from my mouth and collide directly with his descending sword. The resulting explosion shook the surrounding void and sent Steve flying high into the sky, but before he could regain control, I appeared above him and swung my leg downward with tremendous force.

My kick struck his back and sent him plummeting like a falling meteor, his body smashing into the ground hard enough to make the earth explode beneath him. For several seconds, the battlefield disappeared beneath a thick cloud of dust, and then a figure slowly emerged from the crater.

Steve brushed the dirt from his shoulder, his hair disheveled and clothes torn, while every trace of laziness had disappeared from his expression. He stared at me for a long moment before his eyes narrowed.

"Who are you?"

"If you guess correctly, I won’t kill you," I replied with a grin.

Steve stared at me for a moment before a crooked smile appeared on his face. "You really are a cheeky demon. Fine, I’ll play along, but I should warn you that I’m starting to get curious."

The black lightning surrounding his sword suddenly spread across his body, crawling over his arms and shoulders before covering his entire frame. Even his eyes turned completely dark, and the lazy air that had surrounded him moments ago disappeared beneath a sharp and dangerous presence.

"Let’s see how long you can keep that arrogance," he muttered before taking a single step forward and thrusting his sword.

Space rippled around him, and his body vanished so completely that even the afterimage left behind seemed real. Then another figure appeared, followed by another, until seven identical Steves surrounded me from every direction, each one thrusting his sword toward my body with black lightning coiling violently around the blades.

"Star of Death."

His whisper echoed through the surrounding void, and above me, a massive star suddenly materialized, its surface buzzing with dense black lightning. The next instant, countless bolts poured from it like a waterfall, crashing toward me with enough force to make the surrounding Space tremble.

"Strong, I must admit," I said, raising one hand toward the descending storm, "but still not strong enough."

A tiny spark appeared at the tip of my finger, burning with an intensity that seemed completely disproportionate to its size.

"Go."

The spark shot forward like a streak of light, cutting through the falling lightning and tearing the entire attack apart before continuing toward the Star of Death itself. The star trembled violently before exploding into countless fragments of black energy.

A startled gasp escaped Steve.

I didn’t give him time to recover. My body vanished, and in the next instant I appeared directly behind him, my palm already moving toward his back.

The impact sent him crashing downward once again, and the earth below exploded as his body was driven into the ground with tremendous force. I descended slowly through the dust, watching as Steve rose from the crater with blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

For the first time, there was genuine suspicion in his eyes.

"You’re hiding something," he said, wiping the blood away. "I don’t know what it is, but this whole fight feels wrong. You’re not fighting like someone who actually wants to kill me."

I shrugged. "Maybe I simply don’t like humans."

Steve stared at me for a few seconds before shaking his head. "I don’t think so."

His gaze swept over my body, studying my aura with increasing concentration. "You’re very strong, but your aura is strange. It feels like Peak Saint, yet you’re obviously not a Peak Saint."

He tightened his grip around his sword, and a faint grin returned to his face.

"But I’ll find out eventually."

His body suddenly expanded slightly as an overwhelming sword force erupted from within him, spreading across the surrounding space like an invisible tide. Buried within that sword force was something far more profound, a faint trace of Authority that caused my expression to sharpen.

Steve raised his sword.

The black lightning around him condensed into the blade until even the surrounding space seemed to darken beneath its presence.

"Abyssal Severance."

The moment he swung, the entire world in front of him appeared to split apart.

The moment Steve’s sword completed its arc, a black vertical wave erupted from the blade and swept toward me with terrifying speed. It was not merely a slash of sword force; the attack itself carried the authority of severance, cutting through everything in its path as the surrounding space split apart like a fragile sheet of glass. The void behind the wave was left completely cleaved, and even the laws of space seemed unable to resist its passage.

I simply watched it approach.

The black wave crossed the distance between us in an instant, yet when it reached my face, it suddenly stopped only inches away. The terrifying sword force continued churning against an invisible boundary, but it could not advance even a fraction further.

I looked at the blade of severance hovering before my eyes and then shifted my gaze toward Steve.

"Strong indeed," I said calmly, "but still not enough."

Steve’s eyes widened.

For a moment, he simply stared at me, as though some final piece of a puzzle had suddenly fallen into place. His expression went from confusion to disbelief, and then his face twisted with outrage.

"You BASTARD!"

His roar echoed across the area.

"Is this how you come to meet me after three years?"

Before I could answer, his sword flashed again, and another black wave erupted from its edge.

"I’ll kill you!"

The second Abyssal Severance tore through the void toward me.

I stared at him in disbelief. "Oye, oye! Is this how you treat me after I come all the way back to meet you?"

"Get lost from here!"

Another slash followed immediately, and a third Abyssal Severance descended upon me from another direction.

I couldn’t help staring at him.

"You’ve gone crazy."

Steve didn’t even bother answering. He simply swung his sword again, sending another wave of black sword force toward me.

At that point, I finally sighed. I raised my hand and gently waved it.

The three Abyssal Severances vanished.

There was no explosion, no collision, and no struggle. They simply ceased to exist, as though those attacks had never been launched in the first place.

Steve froze mid-motion.

His sword remained raised in his hand while he stared at the empty space before him, his expression slowly becoming one of complete disbelief.

I lowered my hand and smiled.

"I Came To Say Hello."
