My Talent's Name Is Generator Chapter 1293: Meeting Vivi
Previously on My Talent's Name Is Generator...
"Come on, we have our own work to do."
Lyrate nodded, and I extended my perception before taking another step. The invisible wave of my Soul Force spread outward from my body, crossing the surrounding void before continuing through one galaxy after another. Distant stars, planets, and countless pockets of space appeared within my awareness for an instant before my perception moved beyond them, continuing deeper into the Prime Universe.
A faint connection suddenly stirred within the depths of my soul, so subtle that an ordinary Demi-God would never have noticed it. I immediately recognized the presence on the other end of that connection. Vivi. Because a portion of my soul was connected to hers, I could sense her existence even across the enormous distance separating us.
I locked onto that faint connection.
"Found you."
My hand reached forward, and the surrounding Space immediately twisted beneath my fingers. Rather than travelling through the countless galaxies separating us, I simply tore open the fabric of Space itself. A vast spatial tunnel formed before us, its interior filled with countless layers of distorted Space rushing past like flowing rivers of light.
I stepped inside, and Lyrate followed without hesitation.
The distance between the Prime Galaxy and the Blue Spiral Galaxy was enormous, so even with my current understanding of Space, travelling directly would still take considerable time. The spatial tunnel allowed us to bypass most of that distance, carrying us forward at an astonishing speed while the galaxies outside became nothing more than fleeting shadows beyond the distorted walls.
For some time, neither of us spoke.
Eventually, Lyrate broke the silence.
"How confident are you?"
I turned slightly toward her. "About what?"
She gave me a knowing look. "Don’t make me say it. You know exactly what I’m asking."
I understood immediately.
"The bottleneck," she continued. "Ninety percent. You’ve already reached it with forty-nine Origins, and now you’re trying to find a way to cross that final boundary and possibly reach Godhood. How confident are you that you’ll actually succeed?"
I looked ahead through the spatial tunnel, watching the endless streams of distorted light flow around us.
"I don’t know."
The answer came more quietly than I expected.
"I’ve searched through countless possibilities, consumed Origins from another universe, reached ninety percent resonance, and even pushed my comprehension further than I thought possible. Yet that final ten percent remains completely different from everything before it."
Lyrate remained silent, waiting for me to continue.
I exhaled slowly.
"But there is one thing I still believe can help me. "
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
"My Talent."
I nodded.
"My Talent Generator has always been the reason I’ve been able to accomplish things that should have been impossible. It helped me transform energy into Essence, strengthen my foundation, and continuously improve myself. Every major transformation I’ve experienced has eventually been connected to it in some way."
I looked down at my hand, remembering how insignificant that talent had once seemed compared with everything I possessed now.
"I think if I can evolve the Generator one more time, it might give me the means to break through the bottleneck. Maybe it could allow me to generate something that doesn’t currently exist within my foundation, something capable of pushing my Origins beyond ninety percent."
"But you don’t know how to evolve it."
I shook my head.
"No. That’s the problem. I’ve evolved it before, but this time feels completely different. I can’t simply throw more energy into it and expect it to change. I’ve already tried approaching it from every direction I could think of."
The spatial tunnel continued carrying us toward the distant Blue Spiral Galaxy.
"I know I’m missing something," I said. "A piece of the puzzle is right in front of me, but I haven’t figured out what it is yet."
Lyrate studied me for a moment before smiling faintly.
"Then perhaps we shouldn’t search for the answer directly."
I looked at her.
"Sometimes," she continued, "when you keep staring at the same problem, you become blind to the thing standing beside it. You’ve spent three years inside an Origin Expanse trying to force yourself through a boundary. Maybe the answer isn’t another Origin."
Her words lingered in my mind. I turned my gaze back toward the endless tunnel.
"Maybe you’re right."
A few more minutes passed before the space tunnel finally opened, revealing the familiar expanse of the Blue Spiral Galaxy. I stepped out first, with Lyrate following close behind, and immediately slowed down when I felt a familiar presence approaching us.
We had appeared outside a drifting belt of asteroids, where enormous chunks of rock floated silently through the darkness, illuminated by the distant light of the galaxy.
Before I could say anything, the space several hundred meters ahead of us began to ripple. A figure stepped through the distortion, and I immediately recognized her. Violet hair flowed gently around her shoulders as she emerged from the spatial passage, and her beautiful eyes locked onto me the moment she appeared.
For a few seconds, she simply stared at me. Then her expression hardened.
"So you finally remembered that you have a home here?"
I blinked, slightly caught off guard by the tone. Lyrate glanced at me from the side but wisely remained silent.
"Vivi—"
"Three years." Her voice was controlled, but I could hear the irritation beneath it. "Three years, and I received nothing from you except occasional updates through the others. Do you have any idea how long that feels when the person you are waiting for could be fighting some monster powerful enough to erase an entire galaxy?"
I rubbed the back of my neck and gave her an apologetic smile. "I know. I should have come back sooner."
"Or you could have contacted me personally."
"Yeah, I guess I could."
She folded her arms and looked me up and down, her expression becoming increasingly complicated. "But I suppose getting stronger was more important than coming back to see whether the people who actually cared about you were still alive."
I sighed and shook my head. "That isn’t fair."
"Isn’t it?" Her eyebrows rose, and there was a faint edge of hurt beneath her irritation. "Then tell me, what exactly am I supposed to think?"
Before I could answer, she stepped closer and continued.
"Fine, maybe I’m not important enough for you to come back to after three years. I can accept that, even if I don’t like it. But what about Steve? What about North? What about your grandmother? Don’t you care about them anymore?" Her gaze shifted toward Lyrate for a moment before returning to me. "Or have you simply replaced all of us with your summons now?"
Despite myself, I couldn’t help but chuckle at the accusation. Vivi stared at me for a few seconds, clearly unimpressed, but the corners of her lips eventually twitched upward despite her best effort to suppress it.
"See?" she muttered, looking away. "All that power really has turned your heart into stone."
I smiled faintly. "If my heart had truly turned to stone, Vivi, I wouldn’t have come here first."
