After realizing direct attacks on the Gorun formation were futile and their endless reinforcements too overwhelming, the protagonist switched to defense, using "Eternal Consumption" to drain half the Soul Force from incoming meteors and replenish their own reserves. As the expedition members grew exhausted and wounded, the protagonist unleashed "Thousand Soul Blossoms" on the Gorun army, causing them to rupture from within and their Soul Force to flow into the protagonist. With the trial timer hitting zero, the Gorun army vanished, and Macaco declared the Second Trial complete, revealing a colossal door that leads to the Twelfth Soul Current.

Kaelra slowly looked toward the door.

"So this is where we fight it?"

"Precisely."

Macaco nodded.

"You have already survived the trials. There is nothing else I can test you on. From this point onward, you will face the Twelfth Soul Current itself."

He paused before adding with an almost mischievous smile, "And I should probably mention that I have no intention of helping you."

Nobody seemed surprised by that. Macaco adjusted his glasses and took several steps backward.

"You may open the door whenever you’re ready. There is no additional timer, no hidden requirement and no need to wait for anyone’s permission."

His gaze swept across the exhausted Saints one final time.

"Recover your strength. Discuss your strategy. Say your farewells if you feel the need."

He smiled.

"Once that door opens, however, there is no going back."

With that, Macaco gave us a polite bow.

"I wish you all the very best of luck."

His body shimmered.

The next instant, the eccentric ape disappeared completely, leaving the expedition alone on the ancient battlefield.

Everyone’s gaze remained fixed upon the enormous black door.

"Let’s not waste any more time. Recover yourselves."

My voice carried across the battlefield through the communication bracelets. Before anyone could respond, I flashed away from the group and reappeared several kilometers away, where I sat cross-legged in the air above the barren wasteland.

There wasn’t much I needed to recover. I had absorbed an enormous amount of Soul Force while fighting the Goruns, and the energy was still surging through my body. I closed my eyes and immediately entered my Soul Sea.

My soul stood at its full height of 333 feet, overlooking an ocean that had swollen far beyond its previous limits. Silver Soul Force churned beneath it in enormous waves, repeatedly crashing against the boundaries of my Soul Sea as though the ocean itself could barely contain the energy I had accumulated.

A grin appeared on my face.

If I could open the System and check my status, I was certain my level would already have crossed six hundred. I had pushed well beyond the threshold of a mid-level Saint, and after everything I had absorbed during the battle, my reserves had reached a level I had never experienced before.

I was as prepared as I could possibly be.

There was, however, one thing I still hadn’t done since entering the Null Realm: fully manifested my Domain. I had deliberately avoided doing so because of one person.

Dream Astral.

I had asked the All-Knowing Eyes the same question three times since arriving here: Who is the greatest threat to me? Each time, despite everything that had changed and every increase in my strength, the answer remained the same.

Dream Astral.

There was something about him that I couldn’t understand, and I was certain he was concealing something important. I had attempted to ask the Eyes about it once, but the moment I began forming the question, that familiar sensation of impending death had appeared. Whatever lay beyond that question was something I wasn’t meant to uncover yet, so I had stopped.

I had several theories, but none of them were useful without evidence. I couldn’t simply confront Dream and risk provoking whatever he was hiding, especially when we were about to face the Twelfth Soul Current. All I could do was remain cautious and make sure I never allowed myself to become careless around him.

My thoughts eventually returned to the enormous black door.

Everyone else probably believed my objective was either to free the Twelfth Soul Current or somehow capture it. That wasn’t my intention.

I wanted to conquer it. And the possibility of doing so hadn’t come from speculation.

It had come directly from the All-Knowing Eyes.

The first question had been simple.

"Can the Twelfth Soul Current be subdued?"

The answer had been yes.

I had then asked another.

"Can I subdue it?"

Again, the answer had been yes.

That left only one question.

"How can I subdue it?"

The Eyes had responded with a vision.

I found myself standing above an endless black ocean beneath a sky filled with unfamiliar stars. The water stretched beyond the horizon, reflecting the cosmos above it as though the sea itself were a fragment of space. A mysterious man floated above the surface, completely unmoved by the immense power beneath him.

He raised one hand.

The ocean suddenly began to churn.

An enormous whirlpool formed in the center of the sea, growing larger with every rotation until the entire ocean seemed to be collapsing toward it. A furious roar erupted from the depths as something vast struggled against the force controlling it.

The Twelfth Soul Current.

Yet the mysterious man showed no fear.

He simply clenched his raised hand.

The ocean trembled.

Then something slowly emerged from its depths.

A white core floated upward from the center of the whirlpool, radiating an authority I recognized immediately.

The Null Core.

And now I understood where it had come from. The Null Core had been created from the Twelfth Soul Current itself.

Before I could process that revelation, the vision ended.

Another immediately replaced it.

This time I witnessed the birth of an entire universe.

Countless galaxies emerged from darkness as stars ignited across an endless expanse. Worlds formed, civilizations rose, and the passage of time accelerated until the entire history of the universe unfolded before me like a single breath.

Then came its end.

Stars died.

Galaxies collapsed.

Worlds were consumed.

The universe itself eventually disappeared, leaving behind nothing but an empty void. Nothing remained except a single floating core.

It was orange.

The Dawn Core.

The vision ended.

I opened my eyes within my Soul Sea, and everything suddenly became clear.

The Null Core and the Dawn Core were not merely powerful artifacts I happened to possess. They were connected to the fundamental process of creation and destruction, and more importantly, both were somehow capable of interacting with the Twelfth Soul Current.

They were the two keys I needed.

The Null Core could subdue it.

The Dawn Core...

I still didn’t know exactly what role it would play.

But the All-Knowing Eyes had shown them to me for a reason.

And now, with the Twelfth Soul Current waiting on the other side of that door, I was finally going to find out why.
