Joanna confronts Ashton about a past night in a hotel, revealing he was the stranger she was with. He explains it was an accident and apologizes for not telling her sooner, fearing she would hate him. Joanna admits she's not angry but frustrated he hid it, and Ashton vows to be more honest.

At this moment.

Joanna’s focus was on something else entirely.

Frowning, she pushed the man away, her face slightly somber, "Ashton Heath, I’m going to ask you a question, and you better not lie to me."

"Okay, go ahead." Seeing her expression change, the man responded seriously, "I won’t hide anything from you anymore. I’ll tell you the truth about anything you want to know."

"You said just now that what happened that night was an accident? Someone mistook me for someone else and brought me to your room. So, originally, it was supposed to be another woman who went to your room?" Joanna’s brow furrowed at the thought of this possibility.

If that night she hadn’t been mistaken for someone else, if she hadn’t been brought to Ashton’s room.

Would the person Ashton spent the night with be another woman?

Although this assumption was impossible.

But just thinking about the possibility made Joanna feel terrible.

A deep, sexy chuckle sounded in her ear.

The man’s warm hand gently stroked her fair face, his deep eyes filled with affection, his thin lips curved slightly, "Do you think that if the person who entered my room that night wasn’t you but another woman, I would do the same things with that woman that we did together?"

Joanna bit her lip, "Isn’t that the case?"

"Of course not." Ashton did not want her to have any misunderstandings about him. He cupped her face with his hands, stared at her with his deep, serious eyes, and said solemnly, "What happened that night only happened because it was you."

"If it were any other woman, there would only be one outcome."

Joanna blinked, "What outcome?"

"I would have thrown her out."

Waitresses being sent to his room wasn’t a first.

If the woman sent to his room that night hadn’t been Joanna but someone else.

There would have been only one outcome.

The woman sent to his room would definitely have been thrown out by him.

He was grateful that the person that night was her.

He was even more grateful for the twists and turns that night that led him to find his soulmate who would accompany him for the rest of his life.

"Really?"

His unhesitating answer made Joanna feel a little better, her face not so unpleasant anymore, but she still frowned slightly, "But why did someone send a woman to your room in the first place?"

"It was that little brat Yannick who stuffed the woman into my room without me knowing." Ashton’s black eyes narrowed, deciding to teach Yannick a good lesson sometime, as the little brat was only causing him trouble.

"Yannick sent a woman to your room?"

"It was when I just returned to the country, and he did it secretly, saying he had prepared a gift for me," Ashton explained honestly. "They knew about my condition and wanted to see if I had gotten better."

"But the woman they arranged had a car accident on her way to the hotel. Later, as I mentioned before, they mistook you for her, thinking you were the woman and so..."

"So, they treated me as though I were her, sending me to your room?" Joanna finished the rest of his sentence for him.

Ashton nodded, "That’s how it happened."

"If that night the woman hadn’t had the accident, and it was her who was brought into your room, you really would have thrown her out, not touching her?"

"I swear, I definitely would have thrown her out," Ashton raised his hand.
