Annie Lawrence plotted revenge against Joanna, hoping to have her divorced from Ashton Heath by falsely accusing her of an affair with Frank Parker. David Benington, initially aligning with Annie, grew enraged by her reckless actions that endangered both the Heath and Parker families, ultimately severing ties with her. Fearing repercussions from Frank Parker, David decided to abandon Annie entirely and met with Frank to mitigate the damage.

A handsome man, seated upon a black leather chair, lifted his head. His piercing phoenix eyes, cold and sharp, were half-lidded as he addressed David Benington: "What is it you wish to convey? You may speak now."

The instant their gazes met, a chilling wave of fear washed over David.

He could distinctly feel a cold dread creeping up his spine.

Swallowing the saliva that fear produced, David averted his eyes, no longer daring to meet Frank Parker's stare. He then spoke with deference, "Mr. Parker, my concern involves Omega Huntley. The truth is, Omega has another identity; she hasn't always appeared this way, nor did she use this name previously."

Frank Parker was already aware, having been informed by Gary White, that Omega Huntley was, in fact, Annie Lawrence.

However, he had not anticipated that David's intention was to discuss this particular matter.

Could David be attempting to betray Annie?

Yet, such an action from David wasn't entirely surprising.

If he possessed integrity and a sense of responsibility, he would never have betrayed Joanna Lawrence in the first place.

"Oh, is that so?" Frank feigned ignorance, despite knowing the truth. Raising an eyebrow, he queried, "Then, what is her other identity? By your account, perhaps I know her?"

"Yes." Without a moment's hesitation, David betrayed Annie. "Mr. Parker, you should know her. She is Joanna Lawrence's former stepsister, Annie Lawrence. Her current appearance was achieved through plastic surgery mirroring Joanna's."

"Annie Lawrence?" Frank raised his eyebrow once more. "Isn't that your ex-girlfriend? So, you knowingly signed her to the Parker Group's brokerage company? Were you intending to leverage the company's resources to promote your ex-girlfriend?"

A faint smile graced Frank's lips, but his tone suddenly turned frigid. "David Benington, have you considered the repercussions of your actions?"

David flinched, a cold sweat instantly breaking out. He hastily tried to explain, "Mr. Parker, she tearfully begged me for an opportunity. She pleaded with me for a considerable time, believing herself to be Mr. Rowlett’s daughter and that she and Joanna had been sisters for many years."

"Consequently, my heart softened, and I signed her."

"I had assumed she must have changed significantly after her return this time, not reminiscent of her past self. But I never expected her true nature would be so difficult to alter. I realized that at this juncture, I could no longer conceal her identity. Therefore, I have come to Mr. Parker to reveal the truth."

"Mr. Parker, Annie Lawrence remains unrepentant, and her nature is indeed hard to change. Terminating her contract with the company was absolutely the correct decision. I now profoundly regret signing her, as her actions have impacted the company, particularly Mr. Parker's reputation."

"I cannot evade my responsibility in this affair. However, I implore Mr. Parker to grant me an opportunity to atone."

Frank Parker gazed frigidly at David's pale, fear-stricken face, his eyes brimming with contempt and disgust.

This was the man who had nearly wedded Joanna Lawrence?

And he had even betrayed Joanna?

He found himself wondering what sort of discernment Joanna possessed to have initially chosen such a worthless individual.

Fortunately, she had not ultimately married David.

Otherwise, it would have been akin to a blooming flower adorned upon a pile of dung.

"Atone?" Frank Parker scoffed. "How do you propose to atone?"

David's eyes darted about, and after a few moments of silence, he stated with firm resolve, "The situation was instigated by Annie Lawrence. I believe it is too lenient for her simply to have her contract terminated."
